Honestly, me making myself orgasm is much more attractive than trying to teach a man who won't listen what to do. Why should I waste my good vibe on him? Plus, something about making a dude happy doesn't sit right with me.

My grandmother spoiled me and my mom did as well to a certain extent (but that's a whole different can of worms). I'd rather spoil myself and be called a princess than receive a gift then never hear the end of how much it cost.

How many times have I been told that I shouldn't have high standards at all, that what's out here is the trash I have to pick from? It's fucking depressing being told - in my case by family members who can't pick goid partners in the first fucking place - that for onecreasib or another, I can't ever have the partner I want or deserve. Or that I would have to build a partner from the ground up.

He’s Elvis Presley 2.0 as far as profiting/ being a vulture of Black culture. And he's awful at this. He gets the scraps other artists didn't want.

On the really cheap and just starting out, a Canon PowerShot is awesome.

As someone who endured verbal abuse from my mom's NV partner in her teens, and who continues to endure nitpicking as I try to stand on my 2 feet now, the first part of what Judge Toler said is right on.

I concur.

Of course she is. He probably assumes she's naive based on her age, literally the only reason men choose younger women. Not saying that younger women are naive; it's just that they have a target on their back for fuckery from men based on the year they're born.

I was watching the Wrestlemania when it happened like, "The fuck they doing this for?!" I hate public proposals as well. It backs women into an impossible corner.

BUT she should have broke up with him five and half years earlier when that became clear instead of wasting her time. As Judge Lynn Toler has said, "Never let a man tell you he doesn't want you more than once".

As someone who is a pro wrestling fan - and somehow watched Total Divas - watching this relationship was cringe. As soon as he said he didn't want kids, she should've left because that's what she wanted. Their relationship just goes to show that no matter how much money a man has, there is likely to be LVM behavior just under the surface.

This I struggle with. I've been bigger, got smaller, and now I'm bigger again. Though I have standards for a partner, at this point I would have to fucking build him.

Same. I can't say what I would do to a woman who defends that shit, but it would probably involve cops and medical staff at the end of it.

My mom had a partner who ruined my self esteem by verbally abusing me from age 14 to 19, when he finally fucking died. Whoever I was supposed to be now died with him. Her response when I brought it up a few years ago? "He was just trying to toughen you up for the real world". Needless to say, I get skeeved out when wives and girlfriends are too complimentary of their make partners. I also grow enraged if I suspect someone of being condescending to me or any attempts to try to control me. Like, b…

I agree. But if that touch comes with unnecessary drama, I try to avoid it. I'm undoing my pick-me ways, so I can't and refuse to settle for just anyone because I need an itch scratched.

The worst advice I ever received was when I was 17. An older friend of the family told me, "Be a lady in the street and a who're in the bedroom". I'm somehow grateful for the advice because it kinda forced me to be self sufficient sexually, and also revealed that men just aren't worth it to me. If i can't be me with him, I'll just be me by myself.

I honestly don't think I can fake one. I've learned the buttons I can push on myself and can't see a reasin to invite a dude into my bed. I'm confused as to why he'd show up if I can do myself by myself

Not necessarily. I dropped a perfume gift set on my toe and had to bite back a scream.

THIS! I cringe when a heterosexual sex scene shows up on my tv. It's unerotic to me and staged. Queer sex scenes, though? Give them all to me.

This is why I've thus far avoided sexual relationships with men for the majority of my life. I'm not a third base coach who only exists to urge a dude on to an orgasm whole I'm left bone dry and frustrated.

Same. I've met some cool sex workers but I worry for their safety in an industry dominated and fueled by male-centric desire. Also, if sex work was work, why all the secrecy and shame?

This arises out of a culture that raises it's daughters bit cuddles it's sons. Girls are expected to be self sufficient always, but boys get a pass.

While I do believe that the perfect is the enemy of the good, using finding the "perfect partner" as an indictment against women is gaslighting at its finest. We don't say this when buying a car (I just bought a new car late last year). We never tell buyers that the car is "good enough" when the seatbelts don't work, the starter is questionable, the battery is iffy, and the brakes are trash. You deserve everything you want from a partner, and you should never compromise in that area.

Depends on the anime. I adore Attack on Titan, so if he was into something like that - which features political intrigue, family secrets, insurrection, and giant people - then it wouldn't bother me too much.

Don't forget that LVM/NVM have pick mes on their side, keeping the myth of the rare HVM alive. I can't tell you the number of times I've been told that if I wanted a man, I would have to build him. And this came from other women.

Apparently, from what I've unlearned/am unlearning, the only way to avoid having a man cheat on you is to: Accept that it's totally your fault; and Do all the gross, sexual things he wants to do. I think I'll just stay single.

It's called compulsory heterosexuality. Men have to have sex with women, but society makes it unsafe for women to say no to sex with men. In other words, men can have sex with women but women can't not have sex with men.

As usual, they don't want to fix anything and push all of the physical and emotional labor onto women. If his dick doesn't work/he's abusive in some way/etc, it must be something his girlfriend or wife did to make him that way/causes him to react that way. Some examples: He's cheating? She's not doing enough to keep his sexual interest. Maybe she needs to do anal/have a threesome/wear cheaply made lingerie/be a fuck toy. He's abusive? She needs to just take it or choose better. Never mind that a…

Wow. Also, I love how a lot of men, when called out in their bad behavior and general bullshit, turn around and play the victim. It warms my heart to know that my genuine concerns about my status on this planet will never be dire enough to overturn the hurt feelings of an xy /s🙃

So the whole propaganda that if we just pretend to act and think like misogynistic, horny men, then suddenly we're absolutely on equal standing ground is such bullshit. This part of your comment stood out to me. I just read this morning in the book Mediocre that the qualities associated with leadership might actually make someone an incompetent asshole (I'm paraphrasing, of course). Women don't lead like men do - nor should we be required to. I don't know why mainstream feminism keeps pushing th…
