I know this is Men's Rights and I might get some flack for this, but this message is also pretty bad for women. It sets up the classic male as a symbol of the primitive and women as a symbol of society; the latter must be protected and kept by the former to prevent harm. What happens is that both men and women have to fit into rigid roles to support such a system.

Is the implication of the bottom right pair that some sort of sex toy is being used? If not, the definition of rape used by the cited study would not include that kind of sexual assault. I'm also not sure if penetration by an object would fall under rape or sexual assault.

I'm not going to come down one way or another on the child support issue, but I think it is important to realize that a percentage of a poor person's income is much harder than the same percentage of a middle class or greater person's income. With a middle and above man, the support might just take up part of his discretionary spending and lifestyle modifications are possible. When you are at the bottom, no amount of lifestyle changes is going to make you able to pay.

When I lived in Europe, it was common to see people pulled to the side of the road and urinating. I had no idea it was illegal in America quite recently (no incident, just ran across someone who'd been fined for it).

No, the word was "Interestingly" as in "I know we often demonize them and they demonize us, but we intersect more frequently than either group admits". framing this kind of thing as proof that 2XC is now an 'MRA subreddit'. I agree with your call for balance. While there is considerable value in activism, everyone needs to be very careful to not become the type of activists that create issues in order to solve them (e.g. Mothers Against Drunk Driving or PETA). That said, I think we still have a mountain of legitimate issues that need to be addressed before we hit that point, but we won't be really reaching people unless we meet them partway.

We are presented with a quote from a letter to the editor, passages of the Bill or Rights, and a warning about a dystopia future, but nowhere to be found is the actual reason for trotting out these tropes.

I'd wonder if there wasn't quite a bit of conformation bias in her perception. I could easily her perceiving something like him holding the door occasionally for others and occasionally not doing so for her as never for me always for others.

In any case, the merits (or lack thereof) of neither party matter in this case. It is a freedom of speech question. If the speech is defamatory, let the wife sue, but this ruling was way out of bounds.

Actually, I'd thing the gifts from her father do factor in. Above a certain limit (and paying rent each month is certainly above that limit) gifts become taxable income. Your lawyer sounds like a bit of an idiot.

I'm not sure what you can and cannot afford to do, but it seems to me that having her take 60% of your income means that she relies on it far more than you do. What I mean is this. If you are paying a flat percentage and not some fixed amount, a decrease in pay will have a much larger relative effect on her than on you. If you could afford to find a job for even 10k less per year, she suddenly loses 6k, while you only lose 4k. Find a way to reduce your own costs and you could keep bringing it do…
