Agree with this comment. The first time I was ever in any kind of senior leadership position (now this was in the military, not th corporate world), I had the same experience, I couldn't believe how much of my day was consumed with camp-counseloring petty workplace squabbles. It turns out many peolle are petty and need handling else they destroy the workplace. From this perspective, it is a managers job (at least partly).
