Yes, this. I suppose all any of us truly wants is to feel like we belong, like we are valued, and like we are desired - not even romantically, but just in general. Yeah, it really sucks not only looking forward, but like you said, looking back. When I went my own way, I realized that many of the memories I had were wrong - or incomplete, at least. I don't sit and think about this all of the time. I would say 99.99% of the time I am completely over it. I suppose there are still just some patterns of thought that rarely get accessed, but when they do make me feel this way.

I mean, to be honest, even when I was blue-pilled I knew I wasn't very keen on kids - for numerous reasons. Even still, the idea of raising someone seems like a fun experiment - maybe I'm just a teacher deep down so it appeals to me in that sense.

That's a fair point. It seems like the idea that you could choose the marriage route and be just as successful/happy was more prevalent as well, though. Like I said in the post, I've always been a hopeless romantic, so I guess MGTOW is harder on us, haha

As a BC grad who worked for dining the entire time I attended, I can tell you: 1) 50% or more of men who work there are there for their kids or their own education, and 2) they work their asses off with shit hours and under-appreciation. I made a list of everything I want to buy, then used excel to rank items based on an index of Want/Need/Use/Price (with Need/Use being weighted very highly). I said the CABIN would cost $5k-7k to build. (Not a house, a cabin just big enough to live and sleep in - which are 100% legal if done to codes or in an unorganized township). Land could be anywhere from $50k to $???k depending on location, size and features. You could do all of this for $100k for one person if you go simple and small.

Think of it like this: There's a lake in the middle of nowhere. It has 10-20 lake-front properties that go all the way around (each plot is huge and extends away for 10+ acres). That sounds awesome!! I've always wanted to learn to sail. That's an option I haven't considered actually, but definitely a great way to travel the world as well. And yes, it'd probably eventually fall apart if too many undesirables started moving in... maybe the boat is a better way to go - best of both worlds.

Well, it's not so much that we'd just buy 1000 acres and build a city or commune. More like several of us live on property that borders each other. So we each have our own land, unless you'd want to go in with someone or split the property. In a centralized area we could build some common buildings for various uses if wanted/needed.
