As a BC grad who worked for dining the entire time I attended, I can tell you: 1) 50% or more of men who work there are there for their kids or their own education, and 2) they work their asses off with shit hours and under-appreciation. They're all trained chefs, and they could make more in Boston at a restaurant. But that tuition is worth $70k/yr (That's $280k if their kid goes and graduates). They also get free tuition at other Jesuit Catholic Colleges in their network (I think Georgetown and several other smaller schools). It's a definite sacrifice that they're making.

I can also tell you that the student government sends out emails about 'toxic masculinity' almost regularly.

Quite ironic.
