I remember the first time I left a major city. Looked back and saw this giant cloud of crap. It epitomizes everything negative about the city (ie a farm, a factory, slave workshop, pile of filth). That's a good point. Wealth isnt really shared the same way it is for the rich families (albeit sharing is probably easier when you're richer). The poor families tend to be in a self fulfilling cycle as they cut out the young financially.

According to evolution (I think it's this branch),the current explanation is that (ELI5) we experienced a harsh period where fat was not as easily available as everything else. Thus our biology developed ways to increase the amount of fat we have. The process of getting fat was higher urgency and importance than losing it, and therefore faster. We haven't experienced any incentives for our biology to quickly dispose of fat.
