Reading what's below the wordsSounds like you answered your own question, then. All of this adds up to the present situation- you cannot go back and fix the mistakes, you can only make sure that you do not repeat them in the future. Her purpose in your life was to get you to where you needed to be- to wake you and get you to be a man. If you have a bitchy teacher who was always hard on you, but made you better, would you choose to stay in the 11th grade to try and retake that class so that maybe the teacher won't be so hard … | /r/askMRP | 08/12/20 03:58 PM
Reading what's below the wordsKnowing what I know now- I'd get out if I were you, build up who you want to be, and if you choose to be with someone at that point, do that. Granted, she acted that way when you were a fat lazy slob, and she was testing her options. Can't blame her for that- can't hate a rattlesnake for being a rattlesnake. But, you've seen her cards, and she's seen yours. At this point, you'll just be trying to rebuild yourself into someone only to prove to her that you're worthy enough to be with her, and tha… | /r/askMRP | 08/12/20 02:53 PM
Struggling with motivationThat's a great layout and way to change things up- muscle confusion, and it allows the ability to switch up the workout in a way that doesn't decrease the productivity. I'm going to be trying that today. Thank you for taking the time to follow up and present that idea. | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 07:46 PM

Struggling with motivationThat's exactly the situation I've found myself in, and sums up exactly how I've approached it. I didn't want to "allow" myself to be weak by missing a workout altogether, so I would accept the back to back, thus leading to eventual burn out that I'm finding right now. I think I was using the workouts as validation, and was angry with myself when I couldn't get the validation, hence, the feelz. Thanks for hitting the nail right on the head. | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 06:42 PM
Struggling with motivationI appreciate the input- but really, I'm not trying to sound like I don't need help with discipline in my life, but in regards to the gym, I really am sticking with my program. The discipline really isn't the issue in this case, it really is the motivation. I can force myself to go to the gym, but when I'm in there, it's the feeling of being tired and drained- when I have a couple of plates on bench press for 8 reps, I kind of need to be a bit more focused for the sake of finishing strong, but I … | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 05:34 PM
Struggling with motivationGreat advice as to how I should take a break. Occasionally I'll skip a workout, but kill myself the next day as "punishment". At some point I think I was getting burnt out, and just needed to be reminded as to why I'm doing this. | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 05:07 PM
Struggling with motivationThat might be exactly what is going on- I mentioned in one comment that I was probably finding validation from the gym, which is still validation nonetheless. That, mixed in with getting a bit burnt out from it, just like you said. I agree, I need to diversify what I'm using as outlets. It might be time to get the guitar back out... | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 05:04 PM
Struggling with motivationThose are great ideas- that would allow me to find a goal detached from the gym, but give the gym a reason again. Thank you for those ideas. | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 05:03 PM
Struggling with motivationIt's not that I'm doing things besides working out- I'm still working out 4-5 times a week, its the psychological part of it. I'm struggling to find the same motivation/intensity when working out, and I'm forcing myself to work out instead of looking forward to do so. But yes, I will admit that I'm also drinking a beer at dinner occasionally which probably inhibits intensity for my workouts that happen around 8pm. | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 05:02 PM
Struggling with motivationI agree, I think I was supplicating validation from the gym- I knew I needed to stop getting it from outside sources (when I found the Red Pill), so I must have assumed the gym would be a healthy alternative. I even said it myself, I would be in a bad mood when I couldn't find time to get to the gym. It wasn't that I needed the "stress reliever" of the gym everyday, it was probably that I couldn't feed my ego every day and would want that validation. As for frame and game and everything else- I … | /r/askMRP | 23/10/20 04:50 PM
If 5x5 is for strength, why not do 3x10 for hypertrophy?Saving that comment, haven’t read any of that yet. Thanks. | /r/askMRP | 15/10/20 10:30 PM
If 5x5 is for strength, why not do 3x10 for hypertrophy? This convo can get into the weeds pretty quick- most people will say stick to what has been proven to work (of which there are a myriad of proven programs). I want a bit of both worlds, so I do a PHUL program, which is a 4 day week where the first two days are power (Upper Power, Lower Power 3 x 5 kind of stuff), and the last two days are hypertrophy work (Upper Hyp, Lower Hyp 3,4 X 10, etc.). If you have the time, PHAT is better because it gives an extra day which allows you to specify muscle g… | /r/askMRP | 15/10/20 08:02 PM
At what point is this chore play? The kino is a part that I’m ramping up, but I need to do more of what you’re saying specifically. It would have made me carrying her to the bed a lot less of a big deal when I walk away, seeing as I would do that all the time anyways. | /r/askMRP | 12/10/19 08:39 PM
At what point is this chore play? That’s fair, I pushed the rules aside for my own agenda, which is definitely laziness. And I definitely needed to hear the part about it not mattering how big I get- that’s been an covert contract in itself, and I’ve had that thought as well. Thanks for taking more time to post the response than I put into posting my stats... I need to fix that. | /r/askMRP | 12/10/19 08:36 PM
At what point is this chore play?I realized this as soon as I started reading your response. It turned into me doing it for her as soon as I got butt hurt, and I should have realized that I’m the only one making the big deal about it, which turned it into a covert contract when it wasn’t. Thanks. | /r/askMRP | 12/10/19 08:33 PM

Why StrongLifts over GreySkull for beginners?I was listening to the Joe Rogan podcast the other day and they had a fighter/trainer on there who was saying we should stop repping out to failure, and stop going balls to the wall every workout. Thought it was meh until he said (paraphrasing): Look at all the best boxers/fighters in other countries. Russia beats us everytime, and when you look at how they practice, it's very lighthearted and they go about 50%. But, they do that everyday, and they seem to enjoy it more. If we go only 3- 4 days … | /r/askMRP | 18/10/18 01:14 PM

Just took the pill- Any books for the wife to read as well?Very good points- I knew to tread lightly in discussing with her about me changing some shit, but your points really hit home as to why I shouldn't discuss it at all. Thanks. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 05:05 PM
Just took the pill- Any books for the wife to read as well? Thanks for the input, I'll take a look at that first thing. Is that different than what /u/Bluepillprofessor suggested earlier? | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 04:42 PM
Just took the pill- Any books for the wife to read as well? Thanks man, tbh your blog was what got my ass in gear. It was a pretty awesome wake-up call, and made me realize that all the fights and bs that I was blaming on her was my fault for not stepping up and doing my job. I've passed your blog on to a fellow blue-pill, who found it equally as awesome and enlightening. And I agree with what you're saying- I'll start looking into stuff that she's into and show support. Thanks again. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 04:40 PM
Just took the pill- Any books for the wife to read as well? That's a good point. I haven't started that book yet, I just received NMMNG, but will start on that one ASAP. And yea, that's a good point. I should probably worry about myself first, then focus on helping her to get her shit together. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 04:01 PM
Just took the pill- Any books for the wife to read as well?Awesome, I'm looking on Amazon for these now. Thanks. First Kill all the Marriage Counselors looks like exactly what I was talking about. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 03:53 PM
