I would like to get straight to the point:
I have been obsessed with working out for the past two years, upon finding the Red Pill. I give the most credit of my progress and improvement in life to the tenets of the gym- it has been what I take out my frustrations on, what has made me grow (physically and mentally), what takes me out of my own head, everything. It got to the point where I had to regulate myself because I was basing my attitude/mood on whether or not I could get to the gym- a weak dependency. I built an overdone gym in my garage so that I could always go whenever I wanted. All this to say- I love lifting weights.
Right now, I'm struggling. For the past two to three months, I have found a decrease in motivation to progress in the gym. My gains have stalled, and the intensity isn't there anymore. I have switched up programs, taken breaks, switched up times of day, etc. But still, I'm at this place where I am working out because I am forcing myself to, not because I want to anymore, which sounds like a good problem to have, but it's starting to have the reverse effect- I don't look forward to going like I used to. I have lost much of the motivation, and I feel tired.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any idea how to regain their sense of Mojo in the gym? I understand that this could just be me being weak- I can push through that. What I don't want is to push too far to the point where I really hate the gym. I just don't understand what changed- COVID and the shutdowns have changed things a bit mentally (feeling tired and de-motivated in many areas), but life is going well otherwise- the job is progressing and am anticipating a higher position soon, the wife is happy is usually down to smash, the kids are doing great... everything is going well, but I don't want to lose that love for the gym.
Any advice is much appreciated.
