Yeah I didn't want it to seem like an interrogation of sorts even if I was genuinely interested. There wasn't much conversation to go off of if I wanted to deviate away from the book convo though so it's a bit tough. Not a conversationalist so I REALLY don't know the outs and ins to switching topics naturally if the convo is one sided.

If you give them your number there's a chance they might not message you. If you get their number it might not actually be their number. So as there are cons there are pros to this as well. Its mostly just based on how your first impression is and whether or not you or them feel comfortable giving them your number or vise versa. In MY opinion, I'd say offer to give them your number after getting comfortable enough.

This I can mostly get around But some of my worries is that what if her texting habits correlate to her conversational skills Or even if ask her on a date and she turns out to be a gold digger or something. I know this is more of me thinking waaaaaay to much and not enough action, but I wanna make sure im not wasting my time.

I'll take this to heart. My way of initiating conversations is either a hit or miss, not like it's not working it just doesn't sometimes so in my mind it seem "ok" at best. I'm not good at flirting or being as bold as most people, so changing up my tactic does seem like the best course of action for different kinds of people.

For example, I asked her what her hobbies were. She tells me she takes interest in writing short stories Great I asked if she has completed any stories as of late I get a yes I ask her to tell me the premise of the story she has just finished She tells me to "Guess" I enjoy literature so I'm actually interested But I'm mostly getting BS back.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
