Advice so the soon to be ex wife birthday is Saturday. I keep on going back and forth of getting her something or not getting her something. What do you guys think?I can only give you my experience. I take the kids shopping for her gift and I'll either get my ex a gift or kick her a bit more cash. I don't really put a limit on it, even though I probably should. I only do it because that's my kid's mom and it is so very important to my ex how people perceive her. Nothing else really matters in the long run. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/03/23 06:05 PM
How do u guys trust women again? Or can you?I'm gonna quote Homer Simpson: "I don't trust bitches, cause bitches spelled backwards is sehctib and that don't make no fucking sense, just like you bitches." | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/01/23 06:59 PM
Was divorce the biggest failure of your life?Yeah man, biggest failure of my life. And I'm sure people are going to tear this thing apart and that's cool, I'm ok with where I'm at. This will probably be all over the place too. Her decision had such a monumental impact on my life going forward. I lost a lot of things that day, my future being the biggest one. I will mourn the loss of all that for the rest of my life. I could have been better as a husband. It's cliche, but I really did build my dreams around her, which is a foolish thing for… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/01/23 03:26 PM
TURN THAT DIVORCE FROWN UPSIDE DOWN! I dwelled on the feelings of disillusionment, shame and regret of my divorce for way too long. Take your emotions and negative feelings over your divorce and use them as FUEL to CATALYST huge changes for yourself in 2023 like I did - FINALLY!"The second tip is, go to bed early, you doofus. Because when you're sleepin, there's no lonely times. There's just dreams. For your health!" - Dr. Steve Brule | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/12/22 02:56 PM
Is anyone else thinking about deliberately staying single as a life decision?Put myself out there again and take the chance of feeling that stupid relationship pain again? Naw, fuck that noise. I’m fucking miserable but I’ll take misery I know as opposed to the chance of new pain. Plus I only plan to live 11 more years. That’s a really hard “selling point” when people want a relationship. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/11/22 12:47 PM
Wife actually smacked meI decided that I’m never putting roots down anywhere. I don’t have a place to live, just a place I currently sleep at. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/08/22 07:43 PM
advice. The best revenge is do and buy awesome stuff for your kids, fully knowing that their mom and her loser dude can't compete and the rest of his awful brood don't get any of it. Pettiness can be awesome sometimes. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/07/22 03:34 PM
She wants a divorceOffing yourself isn't worth it. I've been there, and I can tell you from experience that even if it never gets better, at the very least you faced it. You need to make a choice at some point whether to "live" or "survive." There is a huge difference between the two. Let me tell you friend, as someone who chose survival, cut off all communication from family or friends, that is NOT living. It seems to me that you hate the situation you're in more than you hate yourself. That's good, build off tha… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/06/22 02:06 PM
When you have childrenYes, let me be cordial to the woman who fucked around behind my back and while I was deployed. Who already had me replaced and me funding it before she realized she couldn’t do this anymore. Here’s half. Thank you for what you did to me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/22 12:51 AM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?I have found that there is so many more bottoms to hit, and each one is worse than the last. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/22 12:43 AM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything? It’s not that. It’s the fact her callousness of the whole fucking thing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/22 08:41 PM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?Not short enough. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/22 06:58 PM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?Lol! Unless you can miraculously end this constant sorrow, imma say ya can’t. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/22 05:03 AM
| -1 | What does one do when you’ve lost everything?Yeah because I went to school and the army to get a specific set of skills so I can go and work as a fucking cook? jUsT fInD a JoB. Get the fuck outta here. You may be ok with “settling” in your position but I’m going to bust my fucking ass to give my kids the life I want them to have. Get fucked. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/22 03:15 AM |
What does one do when you’ve lost everything? The weird thing is, I don’t care about the money or any of the stuff. I literally gave everything to her. It just sucks to know that you did everything you could to the absolute best of your abilities and in the end it still wasn’t enough. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/05/22 10:02 PM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?I live in the second deadliest city in America, because it’s cheap. And as much as their mom has fucking killed me, I couldn’t do that to the mother of my kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/05/22 10:00 PM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?Just the thought of starting over is almost too much. Like I think I’m actively trying to avoid that at all costs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/05/22 09:43 PM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?I have the older one a cell phone so I can face time with them. But it’s rough when they’re literally the only two people that I talk to. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/05/22 09:42 PM
What does one do when you’ve lost everything?I work for the Federal Government, so my specific job set is only applicable in certain areas and unfortunately Texas is not currently one of those areas. And had I not taken this job, my kids would have no place to live. Their mom cannot afford the mortgage of the house. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/05/22 09:38 PM
What changes would need to be made to marriage for you to consider marrying again?Being married and divorced has scarred so much, I doubt I'll date again, let alone get married. Like I got cheated on when I was dating and it hurt, but having it happen while married was a whole different level of hurt. . . And fuck that if I ever put myself in a position to feel that again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/22 04:47 PM
What are some of the worst divorce stories you have gone thru or heard about?Maybe I just got screwed, since the ratio of income difference was huge. She tried to get alimony too, but that didn’t happen luckily. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/22 10:03 PM
What are some of the worst divorce stories you have gone thru or heard about?I got one. Wife cheated on my constantly while I was deployed like 10+ plus people. Then had a boyfriend, when she asked for a divorce. So she got the house, the bmw, the kids, and I get to pay her 2 grand month for the next 11 years. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/22 09:14 PM
I really envy you guysI think you do have the balls just based on the fact that you reached out. That in itself is a first step. Good for you. As someone who has thrown in the towel and chooses not to try and venture in to the unknown, this is a life that you do not want. It still sounds like to me that you have chance. Listen to everyone's comments, they know what they're talking about. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/05/22 12:28 PM
I hate her..That was the plan for awhile. But I don't even want to start over here, let alone someplace else. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/05/22 10:28 AM
I hate her..It could be worse. My ex lives in the house I bought with the dude she was seeing while we were together, drives the BMW I bought, gets $2000 dollars a month for the next 12 years, she got all the friends, and won't let me see my kids. I internalize everything. No outlet, no one to talk to. Listen to everyone when they say find an outlet. All I have to do is make until my kids are 18, then my heart can explode from the all the stress and everything else. Best of luck to you bro. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/05/22 02:42 PM
14 Months laterA second life? Fuck that! I don’t even like the first life I have. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/22 10:51 PM
does it ever get better?I'll probably get downvoted the shit out of this but fuck it. I think it's valuable that you have all points of view. Does it get better? For me, it has not. You can go through my post history if you need details, but long story short, my wife of 10 years had multiple affairs, tried to work on things, she asked for a divorce on Christmas 2019. She got everything, house, car, kids, money. I got major depression and additional triggers to my PTSD. I cut off all my fiends and family, and the gods h… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/04/22 10:50 AM
Proverbs 31:3 Do not give your strength to women, or your vigor; this has ruined many kings.Hollywood 14:45: I like bad bitches, that’s my fucking problem. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/03/22 11:50 PM
After 368 days, finally dipped a toe into the dating pool. Immediately peed my pants. Random divorced-guy thoughtsTried it. Said fuck that after a few months. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/22 11:15 PM
How long did you wait before dating again?I’ve decided to hang it up. I went on the apps and it was embarrassing. But ultimately what works for someone else may not work for you. You are really the only one who can answer that question. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/02/22 02:23 AM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeI have a degree and I’m currently going for a second one. But that’s neither here nor there… My brain never turns off and therein lies the problem. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/22 07:49 PM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeYeah… antisocial sounds pretty accurate. I get what you’re saying, but there is just no drive to put on a mask anymore. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/22 12:33 AM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeLooking inward is a no go. Because then I have to face that asshole and I will deliberately sabotage myself just for the sake of doing it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 09:01 PM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeI despise myself because all it would have taken to save myself from this was to just listen. It’s the simplest thing to do and I dropped the ball. Honestly, I peaked in high school. Everything else just seemed to roll down hill from there. I refuse to let myself be vulnerable ever again. A cold, hard cynic is not something that women are lining up to be with. And it’s ok… I can’t afford to do all this shit over again anyway. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 09:00 PM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeI’ve moved across the country. I thought that would help… I’m not sure what but I’m thinking that maybe I just didn’t go far enough. I’m looking in to going back to the Middle East. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 12:16 AM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeI’ve let go of everything. I am very much in the mindset of you can’t hurt or disappoint anyone if you don’t have anyone. It’s been mildly successful so far. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 12:14 AM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeI have learned that there is no woman worth it. So the vetting process is established. And that’s the thing, nothing brings me joy anymore. The hobbies I had just don’t do it for me anymore. I go and do things but it’s not for me, its for appearances and lately I’ve been trying to figure out who I’m trying to appear as a person for. And as forgiveness, I get to spend the rest of my life with the person I hate the most, so forgiveness is out of the question. But thank you for reaching out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 12:11 AM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeI just don’t ever see myself getting to that point. Like I get that it all wasn’t my fault, but man, if I could have just been a little better you know? | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/22 08:57 PM
They say it will get better but it’s a lie we want to believeMy kids will never want for nothing. If they want to find me they can, if they never want to see me again, that’s ok too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/22 08:53 PM
