Actually if you promoted the person with less hours you would have to pay less over all (if someone is up for promotion anyway), put in more responsibility and save money. It sounds like an interesting conundrum... Given the man gets the option to say Yay or Nay to being a father and supporter of the child and mother (and she will need support in the first let's say three years). Does that mean he's in forever? Granted, this one story might be more of an exception than a rule. Although, there might be other reasons for women to cut their hair other than they have secured a man and 'feel they have scored'. It sure does not account for most women but: my mother needed to cut her waist long hair after she had me because the baby that I was was pulling it and due to a hormonal imbalance (after the pregnancy and while breastfeeding) the hair came right off.
