Weirdly enough, I actually liked the movie when I saw it, but because of Christian Bale´s acting in it. I´ll even confess to having been so unnerved by his portrayal that I put off watching The Dark Knight for ages, lol.

Thank you so much for your comment, it isn't useless advice at all. My relationship with my family is as distant as can be. My father, my main tormentor, is a fairly powerful man in our setting, and exerts a lot of social, religious, and financial influence in our circles. Him being a textbook narcissist and psychopath, he also made sure we all were always legally and financially handicapped and totally dependent on him. Which compounds my difficulty in ever reconciling my life with my family's …

The only romance novels that I've read that seemed like they were written by someone with a brain are by Colleen Hoover. I first read It Ends With Us and it made me bawl my eyes out, because I was smack-bang in my Pick-me days and it was the first time I'd found a story like that.

I read this earlier on that sub and it broke my heart. Just the thought of that poor, confused woman. He says that she had to go to the ER last week, and right from there it struck me that he was treating it like he'd finally got her off his hands and wasn't going to let himself be 'burdened' again. Not to mention, the kids are 15,16, and 18. What the actual fuck, it's not like they need hourly feeds or have schools at different times or something. The thought of that poor woman lying in the hos…

One hundred percent agree. Generations full of bloated men with warped ideals left women festering under the patriarchy. This was by design, not coincidence. In any heavily patriarchal society, no matter how utterly shit the man, he's guaranteed a docile, subservient female bangmommymaid. FDS principles being widespread implemented would require men to actually step their game up and make an effort to compete. You can see why they react with as much hate and malignance as they do, as soon as the…

I'm not sure I agree with this message. Honestly the only part of this that makes sense is there are NOT that many good and qualified men out there. There's a very catty quality to how she's talking about women as accessories to men with deep pockets. Swim in your lane? I think it reflects her own resentment, not a fact of life. This is some toxic pick-me preaching.

I believe the 'dark' in that term refers to dark haired. That's just how I know it, though. What I always heard was 'no one cares what the guy looks like'.

Straight up. After I graduated, uncles and aunties started asking my parents about finding proposals for me for me- but after my USMLEs, of course. Because hey, even if I wasn't traditionally fair (I'm a wheatish black sheep in a yellow-white family), at least I'd be earning good money after getting licensed to work.

I am of mixed descent and have lived in those countries long enough to know that the stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason. Obviously not every south Asian man is a nutjob creep. But most of them are, to the point of 'almost all'. The stories I hear from newly married or even well settled married women... ugh. And even the men who aren't as perverted as the rest or are good men, will rarely go against their sick friends openly. I don't doubt that there are good men there somewhere, but you're…

I agree. I watch with a certain detached horror when white or lighter skinned women date south Asian men and eventually but almost inevitably recede from those encounters or relationships with scars.

Oh no, I'm completely of the same opinion as you there. A lot of the comments (if not the vast majority correcting him) were giving the 'both sides need to cOmMuNiCaTe' spiel. I didn't even pay much attention to the poster because of how thoroughly idiotic his opinion was. But given how massively the comment section in these things tends to be skewed, yea, it was a small mercy.

There isn't an authority here, because it's a loose social gathering /club kind of thing. And I've been rude to his face before, which has only fueled his 'admiration', because 'ooo, she can rein a man in', bah. I'm hoping grey rocking and being curt covers my ass for the next few weeks.

While my experience in Germany has been overwhelmingly positive, men above 50 and or, if they're from a lower standard of education, even in their 30s, fetishize Asian women so disgustingly much. It's not as bad as in the States, but it's not nothing either. That was pretty disappointing.

It's because FDS principles snatch their precious illusion away from them. Women who find and try to incorporate HVW behavior into their own lives have made a choice towards betterment. That simultaneously robs these Quagmirelets of their pool of prey and also rubs their nose in the fact that no, they ain't shit, actually. Illusions of dominance are very, very important for these self-professed 'alphas'. As a matter of fact, an extreme, EXTREME NVM that I infrequently have to interact with went …

I quite literally did not know what sex positive or sex negative feminism was before I found FDS. Quite honestly, I was always on the fence about even calling myself a feminist because I was so afraid of being considered a man-hater in my group of mostly male friends. Thank you so much for saying that. You're not wrong at all, it's bizarre how aged younger guys look these days. Almost every time I see a healthy or well-put together man out and about these days, I see a ring or a partner/family with them. It's s not an even a lament like oh, all the good men are taken. As far as certain men are concerned, women fulfill a certain role in their life. That's why you have older men remarrying within weeks of a long-term wife dying, especially in non-Western societies. Similarly, for a lot of younger men, the women they're seeing are little more than eye candy or warm holes, to use the crassest possible term. But that's the role they serve, and are replaced easily enough because there's no dearth of pick-mes out there. The LVMs who don't move on are more dangerous …

That's because this letter is less about explaining himself to you than reminding you of his existence. Men like these (basically all the Eggheads in the LVM basket) thrive off of knowing that women are within their reach of contact. I personally wouldn't mind, I think. I'm pretty short, and that makes every man above 155 cm in a 'taller' category than me. Also, I have had one long-term relationship and one short term relationship with taller men. The long one was emotionally abusive, and the short-term one so physically abusive, that I start feeling cornered and panicky around men who are that much taller than me. So... yep. I wouldn't rule a short man out automatically.

Girl, go right ahead and do this. You have standards, and that's not such a rocket science concept, yet your friend can't seem to wrap her mind around it. He may be a nice guy or whatever but if he's not your type (and doesn't fit your criteria) that'S the end of that. "NO" is a full sentence, and I swear, some women have as much trouble understanding this as much as men do. I'm glad to hear that he doesn't know where you live. His messages seem amicable enough too. It's just that men, especially men who have been abusive, have very blurry lines of appropriate behavior. This is exactly what happened with me. Back when I found FDS, I was massively emotionally scarred and had practically no concept of my self worth. This is exactly the thing we need to remember. In fact, a weekly reminder every Saturday or Sunday would do this subreddit massive good, I think.
