If they are contributing an addition to the environment, all the power to them. However, if they are trying to remove types of games and characterizations, that is a bad thing and a form of censorship. The former I don't see as an issue; I'd like there to be more variety in gaming as it relates to the gender of the protagonist. What I don't want is games like DOA Beach Volleyball suddenly being disallowed from existing because it unfairly depicts women as sexy/sex objects.

I am a non partisan, I share many liberal viewpoints and a handful of conservative viewpoints. However, my opinion is that arguments should stand on their own and be refuted on their own. Making personal attacks against a person or disparaging them because of association with a group does nothing for your rationality and only makes you look like a douchenozzle. (The you being used is a "General" you and not specific to an individual)

If The man is responsible for determining consent, but the man himself is drunk and cannot give consent himself, then the man can't be expected to determine what consent is since he has none himself. Also, if the man cannot give consent or determine consent, then individuals run over by drunk drivers are just committing suicide.

It actually would be nice if they would stop passing racial or gender segregated bills that provide services for only specific subsets of the population, rather than services that served anyone who needs them.

I meant that I've watched people progressively lose their faculties to self examine feminism. It seems isolated to feminist issues. It makes me wonder if there isn't something subliminal going on, or some sort of actual brainwashing. Because it's scary.

I've personally observed people whom I considered rational, thoughtful human beings barrelling down into a hole of insanity when it comes to Feminism. It's kind of like a weird social alzheimer's, sort of scary to watch.

I love the fact that the article says the professor is conservative, so EVERYONE Just accepts that the article is right in this matter and goes on their tirades about stupid conservative women and crazy conservatives. Nah, I was just replying by pointing out that aggressive curation of dialogue would make it seem like they stopped posting, when the truth is they were banned and their comments removed. I know some people aren't interested in video games, but the "I will not", as I said before... comes across as cold and dismissive. Saying "It's something that I don't do with them" is less cold and dismissive. Yes, I'm mincing words, but it just really jumped out at me.

I have a question... In the article, one of the mothers of one of the children commented on how the boy babysitter plays videogames with her son, then follows it up with "I will not". This seems kind of... cold and hurtful. Shouldn't a parent at least feign interest in their children's interests, even if they themselves may not be a fan? Is it common for women to refuse to be involved in child play of a male nature?

The pedagogic method, as practiced by Socrates (Asking lots and lots of questions) is usually viewed as a personal attack of demeaning the person's intelligence by pretending to be dumb or by asking questions perceived to be a priori true by the person you are arguing with. Not only with feminists, but with other people of a religious bent, I've observed there's a threshhold of tolerance for questions, beyond which only emotionally charged, irrational responses will be received.

I just assume people that respond to things I never said have transposed a fictional representation of all they hate over my actual dialogue. It's a weirdly crazy experience, and one I've been running into a lot lately. Honestly, I feel kind of worried for people that do this, because I'm worried something might have been damaged in their head.

from what I've noticed, a lot of this is a result of people (In particular feminists) feeling that it is society's responsibility to cater to them and change itself, rather than the contrast of being an adult and accepting that the world isn't perfect and never will be.
