So, in my stream someone shared an article from FtB by the illustrious PZ Myers regarding "Women are Not Machines controlled by the Contents of Their hips? Shocking news!"
Despite my better judgment, I read the full breadth of the article. What strikes me is that throughout it, it dismisses the role that biology plays in behavior as it regards women, as if it is a fabrication conjured by evolutionary psychologists without a basis in reality.
Now, surely, there are portions of EvoPsych that border on the ridiculous and absurd, but this doesn't compose the entirety of evopsych.
It troubles me that any scientific indication of behavior resulting from biology and the sexual dimorphism of the species resulting in different responses and reactions in regards to gender, reproductive urges, etc. are summarily dismissed as if it is as laughable as spontaneous generation.
What are your opinions regarding evolutionary psychology? Are there some good studies that can demonstrate a great methodology in regards to proving behavioral differences in the sexes?
