This sounds like about 5 reasons for divorce.

WOW. Nail on the head. (M43) I am in a high-conflict divorce just now taking a break from working on my case. This is for sure accurate for me. She came across desperate in the beginning to the point of obsession, vague "emotional abuse" claims with no corroborating evidence like texts or emails, no Domeatic Violence charges or police or restraining orders, plans to take full custody of the kids, is between 35 and 45 (41), uses the court to enraged, criticize and speak her truth. Here's the real…

Same. I got lawyers. I'm 1.5 years in. What you are describing is parental alienation and is SUPER common for women to do (Mrs Dou tfire). Lawyer up, she will get worse, you will learn she is, in fact, one of the bad ones. Always has been. Get 20,000 dollars together, take out personal loans or get help from family.

My ex is alienating me from the kids. I see them once a week and no overnights. I'm being given the treatment of a violent criminal for no good reason. She brings her new guy around with them all the time and deletes my days. I bought the kids both smart watches and do video calls, calls and texts. It's the only way I can see them. Court is in 1 month and my legal team are going to rake her over the coals. Won't be nearly as hot as what's in store for her in hell after she dies and gets judged p…

Lowest incidence of side-effects amongst SSRIs. Cleaned up version of Celexa removing the molecules that aren't shaped correctly. Verry effective. Becoming the most popular prescription antidepressant day by day.

Sounds like she has serious Post Partum Anxiety/depression. It happens a lot. Give her space and hope she gets help. Honestly, this breaks a lot of marriages. Women in these circumstances can be very verry ill and need professional treatment. Many refuse. Many face divorce as a result. I went through the same thing. There is really little you can do. You can't force her to do anything and she is experiencing a little of huge feelings right now. Just know, we're right there with you. This is not …

Absolutely. I am 1.5 years in and I can tell you that the exhaustion turns to full-blown depression where you can't get out of bed or clean yourself. Clinical grief. My mariage was 14 years long and the courtship was 9. That's a significant chunk of life. I'm taking Lexapro now and feel much better but I still feel it. Grief happens with death, divorce any major life change. But it happens.

I feel you man. I can't process the situation I am in with the lies, parental alienation, the false accusations and the new boyfriend spending every weekend with my kids and me unable to see them for more than a few hours a week. I don't know how I'm supposed to describe this to anyone in court ordered mediation this month without just loosing it. It is so bad. It was anxiety and depression. Now it's just rage. I am justifiably enraged. I have hope that we have everything documented and I am tol…

We are all going through this. It's terrible and every month there is a new struggle. Ruminating and rehearsal is occupying at least 8-16 hours a day. Court-ordered mediation is coming up. She is engaging in parental alienation and I can only see my kids twice a week with no overnights. I need to insist on 50/50 as we are on California. She is going to be NUTS and try to trigger me. I need to stay strong and focus on what is best for the kids. Stay focused. But I rehearse and rehearse and rehear…

I was surprised when my colleagues saw pictures and videos of my ex and were impressed and kind of gawking. She is absolutely gross. To me. If she's new to you and on her best behavior and you're a desperate chump, yea, she's hot. I know better. Good luck, new guy... you're gonna need it

M43 divorced. Here's the thing: Your mentality of caution reflects studied biological reality. You are not imagining things. We are evolved organisms where females find males sexually attractive tracking with their fertility. Pre-pubescent girls are not usually interested in sex. Girls going through puberty are incredibly anxious, insecure and cautious, women in their 20's are normally very receptive and women between 35 and 45 are similarly anxious, insecure and cautious. Women reach peak ferti…

Both men and women don't realize that, until recently in our society, being an older mother who is nolonger commanding romantic attention from a man and being a man who feels that the woman is using him like an ATM are not only expected phases in life and mariage but, unavoidable chapters that are what it means to be married for life. I feel people shouldn't ditch each other when life does what life does. But, hey, that's why we're all here. People get married and expect they won't turn into the…

I will be telling my kids the truth. What I have learned is that women between age 35 and 45 instinctually engage in relationship sabotage due to their being in a high-risk pregnancy category. They often need to be alone during this period. They become intolerable and repel all but the top 1% idealized man and complain about you to repulse you. When they are at their most fertile and best physical health to survive pregnancy and childbirth in the wild (22-24 years old) they are more than willing…

I'm in YOUR boat man. Today especially. I called out sick from work, ate nothing and didn't get out of bed. 1.5 years in and I still have days like this. Waiting on lawyers. My mental/emotional timeline does not deal in anything other than immediate gratification. I'm working on it but, man, this is painfully drudgery. My advice to my son is "never get married" 0 stars, would not recommend. One thing that helps is listening to podcasts about early explorers, sailors who would get caught in the w…

This is hugely validating. I'm so close, but, this helps me to stay grounded. My mind is everywhere but a year and a half after moving out I know I did everything right. I just need to take care of my body. That's crucial. People say eat right and work out. I need that.

Women do this. They have very mercurial emotional states. Sometimes they are fuming but over-correcting to hide their true feelings. Sometimes they don't want to appear negatively and will over-correct to gain an advantage in court. Sometimes they are acting on advice from their lawyer. Regardless of their behavior it is important you maintain being non-reactive. If she suddenly changes, nice, mean, happy, angry, you do not react. Do not change. Grey rock. Anything you say or do can and will be …

Support to you my man. My parents just got a Grey divorce and I am going through one too. My Dad and I both spent Thanksgiving alone. It is hard. I wasn't expecting it to be, because court last week went really well for me. I expected to be happy, but, holidays are still hard. I moved out last year and last Thanksgiving I stayed in bed for 1 week. Called out sick from work... I'm in a much better mindset this year but, still it's hard. Very insightful. I completely agree. Women, when you peruse the divorce women subreddit, do not sound like they are discussing a divorce at all. Most of them are sounding exactly like discussing a simple break-up. They feel the relationship is over. No abuse, no "irreconcilable differences" just typical signs to them they want to break up with their boyfriend. Women, it seems, take "for better or for worse, richer or porer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part" very very uninformed a…

Do you know the story of the Sadie Hawkins dance? 100 years ago it was thought that women were too emotionally fragile to handle rejection so only occasionally do they have a tradition where they ask the men out. Women get bodydysmorphic disorder at much higher rates than men. Generally, women are very subject to social rejection and their whole ego often depends on it. These are genuine facts. The media knows this. It is not real life. It is entertainment. If women complained about their less-t…

My soon-to-be-ex accuses me of being a narcissist. It's tough to tell these days because a woman divorcing a man seems to have about a 90% chance of blathering on and on to anyone who will listen that her ex is just HORRIBLE and calling him a narcissist the way we would call a woman "crazy" or a "Karen". It suits their interests and salvages their pride as well as feeds their ego so they can blame you for everything. If you were a narcissist, you wouldn't be asking a group of strangers to critic…

Similar situation. I caught on when I found the Nuva Ring in the fridge. (Birthcontrol ring that needs to be refrigerated). She's already getting action from some guy who doesn't like condoms. It was right in the kid's snack drawer. And she ain't getting any younger so she's out on the town.

Ancestral enviornment does not mean 100 years ago. Not even 1000 or 100,000. Humans have vestigial characteristics from the deep past. When cold our body hair stands on end. This holds over from when we still had body hair. These characteristics are more knee-jerk reflex and instinct than conscious thought-based. Research shows this. Modern human women have double the rates of anxiety and depression compared with men. Most women prefer men who physically dominate other men and women even rate me…

Women are very picky when it comes to men. Your average woman would cry very hard if she had to be with an average man. Most women want to mate with only the top of the heap. They don't understand this about themselves because we mostly don't live in tribal society. In the ancestral environment life was very violent and women evolved to adapt to this. Women are less violent than men and far more willing to sideline and observe. The men who dominate in conflict and who have access to the most res…

I've been feeling the same way. You have a human brain my friend. No matter the situation, good, bad, ugly... divorce always ends up with feeling this way. SUPER similar. Sitting and staring. Feeling little to nothing. Sad lonely, but don't care. Then curious if you are the only one experiencing this kind of living-death... there are millions of us, brother. It only lasts a period of time and everyone gets over it. It takes years often. Lean into the pain. Look it up. It's called clinical grief.…

I live in California where this is illegal. Recording without consent in areas where there is a reasonable assumption of privacy, like a bedroom, is illegal. It is not admissible in court and if you point out that she did this in court she may get spooked. She was trying to goad me to lose my temper and once she felt she had gotten me that far she turned on the tears and hit record and gasl…

Oh man. There was this Dane Cook bit from like 25 years ago how men and women argue differently. He said women are like a ninja. They know how to push buttons. Here's the thing. Women say more words per day, on average, than men and often are more social. Women like dealing with feelings and emotions and have double the rates of anxiety and depression and insomnia as men. Despite the fact that modern women, in the US, are more upwardly mobile, independent and generally food-secure and safe, they…

I was enticed to move myself and my kids in to an mansion with her family. Then kicked out. She is splitting nothing. We are going to court. If you get married it's like in a zombie movie when they get bit, suddenly they're your worst enemy. Men: expect it. Don't say we didn't warn you. Women ARE this way. It's not sexist, they lie when they are young and pretty. You roll the dice with that. Ever seen a young pretty girl on a bad hair day? Add wrinkles and Grey hair to that. Ever wonder what mak…

Once I told my wife, in therapy, that our son was autistic and so am I she set the wheels in motion. Autism is highly genetic. Most of the time you can identify an autistic phenotype in one parent. Women have kids, realize that their husband is autistic they immediately become disgusted and begin to manipulate and abuse you. Women only accept perfection. This is why they are so obsessed with how they look. They are naturally perfectionist. Women who don't learn to deal with this early in life ge…

Every one of us have thought about it. Keep in mind, your experiences with your ex are just about universal. All of us believe our ex wives have lost their minds. There is a financial incentive for them to act this way. It's not crazy, it's sensible. She writes a 500 word essay and you give her money. She's a "Dramatic Freelance Author". Conduct your own psychological evaluation. Tell her you are not speaking to her anymore and block her number and email. Don't mean to advise you to be rude, but…

I feel you brother. I'm a feminist. Liberal. Atheist. I was married for 14 years and had no qualms about getting divorced. But I still feel you. Divorce makes you see women for what they really are. There is vindictiveness, ugliness, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. All that time my wife was a normal person. We were best friends. Then the change came. Suddenly she acts like every sexist misogynistic attitude toward woman I always argued against. When men 100 years ago said things about wo…

Me too. I've been alive 42 years and I've experienced this before. Early death from cancer in the family. It hit me and I had about a year and a half of real bad times. 6 months of barely-functional anxiety and insomnia mixed with no appetite and horrible thoughts all day and night. Then 1 year of much milder anxiety but persistent feelings of loneliness and shutdown similar to depression but more just grief. What I am experiencing now is a different flavor but I feel I am moving past the initia…

My stbx wife accused me of "being abusive" emotionally. My mother said my father was abusive because he would give the "silent treatment". I am told that this type of abuse is extremely difficult to prove in court and usually does not effect the outcome unless there is a crime with a police report.

Situation is reversed for me. Lemme tell yah, even if you were a woman, you still pay through the nose. Long marriage (longest-term is 10+years, there are no longer term categories) always pay the lower-earner. If you are married for over 10 years in California, the higher-earner paid the lower-earnier, pretty much for life. Legally, they aren't allowed to even consider our respective genders. I gotta tell yah, I might be about to get a fat check. If you earned more most of the time for 10 years…

First, we all love women. The women in our lives are great. My mother, my daughter... and, yes, my ex. Their brains are wired for survival. We all benefit from this focus from our own mothers. Women who want to survive and who want survival for their offspring and who have developed instincts that help with that have more successful offspring. Women take the "quality over quantity" approach due to the huge burden of child-rearing (pregnancy, breastfeeding and then raising the child for a decade …

Women have to plan for other options. They don't know you aren't going to end up like a Lifetime Original Movie bad guy and try to kill her. These fears are instinct. Your wife has a semi-appropriate fear of men. If you wanna make her quieter, make more money. If you want to actually make a woman HAPPY .... Kratom

Get legal advice. Mine was: Move out ASAP. I mentioned that with custody if you move out you may have a harder time claiming custody but my lawyer said that if someone on reddit said that (that's where I heard it) it's because they don't have legal knowledge. Very similar situation. I get sad a lot and often feel depressed. The only thing that helps me is regular practice of Stoicism. Greco-Roman Stoicism is the philosophy that cognitive behavioral therapy is based on. They make much about how yoga and meditation and diphrematic breathing are drawn from eastern religion but much of the rest of the cognitive model comes from Stoicism. It requires attempting to memorize and gain a firm understanding of the philosophy and finding that you think on it da…

From a man's perspective women seem to just be jerked arround by their impulses through life never expecting that their gut instincts could be driving them toward some pretty reprehensible behavior. I'm sure they feel the same about us, though. Relationships between men and women are fraught with competing goals and incompatable preferences. Men and women are pretty much designed to idealize their partner up to the point of obsession (we call this falling in love) watch as they fail to live up t…

Anxiety is a pretty big part of my life and has been rocketing sky-high during divorce. Any major life-change can cause clinical greif. This is to be expected with birth, death, divorce etc. The stress of the life-change and the loss of the relationship has a different effect on everyone and some simply feel sad, some develop depression, some anxiety and some have even worse issues. Divorce is a big reason people develop an anxiety disorder. It's not a straw that breaks the camel's back. Divorce…

I feel it too. It helps me deal with the process. We are still in the middle. If I had all my emotions like I used to I would be beyond stressed right now. There is no emotion for all this and so we learn to compartmentalize. If your wife was abusive and you don't feel much emotion try to get some help.
