I saw a comment mentioning that you were feeling more empty now that the kids are in school. Is it more trying to find yourself again through hobbies etc? Can you elaborate more? I don’t have kids yet, just more so nervous about when that comes hehe

Quick google rate says second marriages have over 60%. Wouldn’t say almost all but definitely a significant amount. 3rd marriages have over 70%.. Here’s an article that’s interesting https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/divorce/divorce-statistics/

I’ve heard the app will show your profile less if they see you frequently delete and remake your profile. No clue if it’s true

I used it and actually found a great group of girls. The way it started was one girl I matched with set up a group chat and a meetup so it was a bit less pressure than just a one on one. There’s a group of 6 of us now that are super close! I do hear that it’s hard to setup one on one. I never met up with anyone other than this group.

Yes totally agree- i more meant that 2 years without a clear timeline/goal for marriage would be a sign that it may never happen. Men who are committed to women are intentional. If you let them know that you are interested in marriage and they do nothing to make that happen in 2 years, then that’s when I would run.

True for some women, but for a lot of us marriage is very important and I would not want to be in a relationship unless it had potential for marriage. I think it’s one thing if you meet when you are younger, but for women 25+, 2 years and no ring? I’d leave lol

I’m 24 found a guy who’s 29. We’re both engineers, he’s incredibly generous and checks every box in the book, even ones I didn’t know I had. Key thing is looking for a guy who is established in career and financially stable. This is the point where men tend to be more stable and looking for something long term. Also another huge thing is gauging emotional availability. A lot of men can want a relationship and can provide for one, but often fail to have the capacity to be a good partner. Takes ti…

I find many of those men are the same types that pressure women into sex and lust after numerous women. Very hypocritical thinking.

I think I got super lucky with my position! 1 year experience. I work for a midsize company and have great balance! They don’t care what we do as long as you finish your tasks on time. I surf 3 hours almost every day during my lunch break 🤫

I don’t think this is just the west, it’s human nature. Many studies on how attractive people are more likable, get away with more, etc

Entry level software positions are extremely competitive. You need internships / prior experience for entry level positions, and most internships require a degree. It is possible to do it without, but it will be significantly harder. Essentially every entry level position will have hundreds of applicants and someone with a 4 year degree is more desirable than someone with a boot camp. I’d argue that a boot camp will set you up to be a code monkey whereas a 4 year degree will allow you to actuall…

If you’re pursuing an in demand degree such as engineering or finance or want to get a masters, I’d go traditional 4 year university. Avoid liberal arts degrees or even some degrees like biology unless you plan on pursuing a masters. If you don’t want to pursue a career in STEM, law, business/finance, or medicine, I’d say get a trade. Essentially look at the job you want, then the requirements. If it needs a specific degree - get one. Don’t go to school and take out loans unless you have a plan …

Yea I moved home after university and it was really hard at first. I actually found a really great group of girls with similar interests on Bumble BFF! Just like dating gotta go on a bunch of dates before you meet one that’s good!

More makes sense if parents live in a high cost of living area. Otherwise if rent is affordable then I would live on my own. I’m 24, comfortable tech salary living w parents in Southern California. They live in a nice area but it’s quite suburban, not many people my age around. I have a pretty active social life with activities that make it easy to find young people. (Gym, surfing, line dancing, etc). Gotta just get yourself out of the house and maybe be willing to drive a bit more. Moving out d…

Im a software engineer. Tech is honestly very underrated for women, a good position is very flexible and gives good pay. I work from home, have plenty of time to pursue hobbies and take care of myself. Another thing I suggest is if you can live with parents to save Money, do it. Coming into a partnership with no debt and savings makes you an asset, and also helps protect yourself.

Yes. I have bad adhd, was always super messy my whole life. What really helped me was treating cleaning like “closing duties”. Forcing myself to spend 5 min every night to just put my clothes away, tidy up, etc. the more you do little maintence, the easier it is to keep it up. I do laundry almost every day too. It’s so much more manageable, just throw what I wear in the washer end of day and fold it that night. Super convenient and helps w the backlog. Cleaning as I go for cooking, not letting m…

I’m a software engineer and I think the one thing that helps me is having traditionally feminine hobbies. I’m really into painting and baking and cooking! I’m super into sourdough, always bring a loaf for guys when I date them, definitely something that they love! I will say that being financially successful as a woman does limit your options, but the ones you have are much better!

The issue is can many men afford to provide this? I’ve found that a lot of men can barely afford to live with roommates at my age. I either need to go for much older or live in poverty.

A man with zero discipline is unattractive to me and clearly has different values so I would know it’s not a match. Promiscuous men belong with promiscuous women. Critical thinking is also a valuable trait for men to acquire.

And sexual discipline is one of the most important traits found in a decent man.

I’m talking about putting effort into relationships and pursuing women - not manual labor. I agree that men are hardworking. But when it comes to dating, many men do not want to put in effort and will settle for whatever is convenient and desperate, even if they have zero respect for that person. That is what I find lazy and low effort.

In a private, intimate setting of course. I enjoy wearing lingerie for myself even though I’m not currently in a relationship, it’s a fun little secret for myself :) posting photos or wearing it in public on the other hand I would not describe as very “RPW” I’d say it’s a nice bonus- but only if it’s something that appeals to you. If you are not comfortable in it, or don’t feel yourself, don’t wear it because you feel like you should. However you feel the most comfortable and confident is the be…

Do you see this man being a reliable father and husband? As much as you care for him it’s important to look at reality instead of potential.

Yes I really relate to this a lot. Just got my first job as a software engineer and I am having a hard time meeting men who are similar in their financial / career goals. I’m almost 24 and have only had one relationship. Most men I meet are not interested in anything serious or are not doing anything with their lives. I have somewhat accepted that I may not meet my person- I would rather be alone than settle for someone that doesn’t make me happy. I will say I do put in a lot of effort into myse…

It was around one month of us being official and I wanted to do something nice for my ex. I told him to come over for a fancy date and I prepared dinner and dressed up really nice. Literally cooked for like 3 hours, lit candles, did my hair and makeup, all that jazz. Sat all night waiting for him to come by and he ended up getting dinner with his new roommates to “bond” instead and came by at 11 pm, instead of 5 pm. At that point I had eaten the dinner, cleaned up, and cried myself to sleep. Whe…

Me too, got out of a relationship not too long ago where I was sacrificing my mental health and boundaries hoping that he would finally change and care but he ended up dumping me. I look back and am truly embarrassed at how I told myself how I would never let a man disrespect me like that and then I let him walk all over me 🥴
