We're bad at predicting what we want. Men say they want women to pursue them, but are often turned off (or lose respect for those women) when they do. Obviously it depends on the woman in question and how she approaches it. We can subconsciously tell when a woman is desperate and needy and find it to be a turn off, despite how we imagine we'll react beforehand.

I chose this quote for the title because it's a good hook, not because I think it's the main point of the article. I think that the main take-away is to be aware of the difficult position women are in as sexual creatures in a society that wants them to be simultaneously sexy and reserved. The message I'd like to see spread from this is that slut-shaming is an absurd denial of what is natural, on top of being completely hypocritical.

Good points. There's a number of take-aways from the article, most of which are food for thought, and not absolute conclusions. I wouldn't read too much into the parallels between humans and other animals, but rather focus on the bio-cultural paradox faced by human women.

Emotional vulnerability isn't necessarily going to be interpreted as neediness. The difference is subtle and will depend on all of your other interactions. Telling a girl that you like her and want her is making yourself emotionally vulnerable, because it leaves you open to rejection.
