I’m part of the club, almost one whole year into the divorce process at this point. Our stories are all the same, The monkey branching, rewriting history and the whole nine yards. They are all the same, and the dating scene is a pile of hot garbage. There’s plenty to play with, but they’re all as fucked up and disconnected from reality as the STBXW. OP. Let her be happy with whatever dick of the week she’s whistling about and don’t give her a second thought. Move on and enjoy your newfound freed…

Dude…the same, except I can’t confirm that she’s banging a POS yet. But the anxiety/gaslighting and emotional fuckery was aweful. She was actually buying pot smoking paraphernalia (for her boyfriend)while we were on a family vacation and lied when I found it. My mental health has vastly improved since the paperwork was filed last june

Great advice It’s hard to unplug from the idea that you need pu$$y/women in general to survive. Once you put all of them on the bottom of the list (especially your ex) then your actual problems are small and easy to manage. OP: love your children first, love yourself next and forget the woman that you used to be married to because she’s dead and no longer cares about you.

If you need to talk, DM me. I’m ten months in and I know your pain. It gets better, I promise. All the cliche things like gym and therapy work, man. Get in the gym and work your guts off.

Repeat after me They Are All The Same Seriously though, they really are. If you do nothing else, read the archives here and draw the conclusion yourself, almost every man’s story is the same here. That’s either the world’s largest consortium of men from all over the world randomly telling the same story, or the above statement is true.

Sounds oddly familiar. I also didn’t want my divorce, I didn’t want to spend 50% of time away from my kids and I didn’t want to lose half my stuff. But here’s what I’ve found throughout this process. -the 50% of time without the kids has allowed me to actually work on, and do things for myself like go to the gym and my therapist. The wombat I’m divorcing would never have allowed me to do stuff for myself without a fight or a shitty comment after. My mental and physical heath has never been bette…

I did, but I’d do it all again given the choice, despite their batshit crazy mom. My only struggle is what this process is doing to them, I’m just trying to minimize the damage.

My kids also didn’t meet me until my STBX left. My son looked at me a month ago and told me that he had never heard me laugh as much as I do now. Even though the process is far from over, I’d call that a win.

I thoroughly believe women are codependent by nature. My STBXW was reading books about codependency for months before she served me, and blamed me for her misery amongst other things. Fast forward a year and she’s wearing sports jerseys and is now a sports mom because she found a community to jump into. We never were a sports family Me? I’m my same old self within the frame I’ve always been in, I have a great career and the same friend network I’ve had for 20 years. Read the rational male, it’s …

Our stories are the same, brother. Once she got that magic piece of paper and was able to support herself she popped smoke and found another d@ck to ride. After 10 years of me working myself to death while she gained an education. She said I was the spendthrift in the relationship, we were always broke because of me, despite me constantly telling her to stop buying stupid shit. Now she’s struggling and no doubt has credit card debt racked up despite earning more than me. Men can live on nothing,…

Go find another one to play with, and that one will tell you that you’re the best they’ve ever had. It’s in their wiring. And the next, and the next…. It’s what they do ol’ boy, but go slay a few dragons and you’ll realize that they’re not that scary after all.

I’m 9.5 months on, brother. It gets easier but I still have days that blow me back to day one, especially since she’s getting nasty with the divorce proceedings. But I love my kids when I have them, and I work the hell out of myself when they’re gone. It’s getting a bit easier every day.

Sounds like you’re over the hump and on your way to healing. As you meet women, you’ll realize that your wife really wasn’t that unique at all. There’s thousands in your close proximity that will give you the physical/emotional intimacy for a few hours at a time. BUT, remember that YOU are the prize for the taking. You set your own framework, boundaries and rules, not them. Read the rational male for what that means They will fall in love(I’m six outta six, three have come back to serve 😂), you …

Let it go, man. Work on yourself and you will get your own closure. You may never know the nitty gritty details, and that’s ok. She doesn’t respect you and isn’t worth this much mental anguish. I got served last May, I’m pretty sure she was having an affair. Regardless, she decided to go on dates and have herself a hot girl summer/fall/winter and it seemed like she was on cloud nine. Yes you are. Every man’s story here in the same, every divorced man I have spoken to says the same, every successful man is worried his wife will get bored, decide to leave and take half his stuff. A friend of mine has been coaching me through his divorce and everything he said would happen, has happened…right down to the letter. That’s a whole lot of coincidences.

Welcome to the club. My STBX had a first class head game and a bottomless throat until she ate the wedding cake, then I got lifeless duty sex and unenthusiastic oral once a year for ten years. DM me, I’ll talk to you. I told my STBXW I had similar feelings on the night she told me she was leaving me and she showed no mercy…none, zip, zilch, ZERO. I proceeded to get inebriated and almost did it. But I found a therapist, and I quit drinking, and I thought of my kids growing up without a protector. If I leave this divorce with nothing by the clothes on my back, I’m going to be there for my kids. DM me…I’ll talk to you.

I believe that I’m in a similar situation as you are. My divorce has taken a turn down a road that I never would have imagined. My STBXW is angry and I believe alienating my children from me. Your only option is to keep your head up, push forward, love your kids and disregard what she thinks of you anymore. She’s not your friend anymore, treat her as such.

Gym and therapy, those are my go-to ways of forgetting what I’m going through. I have a handful of good friends that are great for me but are keeping their distance, and I don’t want to drag them in to anything before it’s finalized. For the most part, my mental and physical fitness is where I’m focusing my efforts when I don’t have my kids. I have some lady friends who take care of my needs but a relationship is honestly the last thing on my mind.

She knows your triggers, your vulnerabilities and your sensitivities and she will use that against you. She is no longer safe for you, and you cannot trust her. I was there 8 months ago, …

Ex-mil was a militant feminist and overall narcissist, actually kept my oldest child from my own mom during our wedding (just found this out). Ex-FIL is a beta male and let her rule the roost, the STBXW expected that dynamic and hated that I didn’t bow to it.

I’m not a 10 by any means in the classical sense, but I have had zero issues with obtaining some. I communicate my wants/needs right off the bat, stay consistent and treat them well while they’re with me. If they get attached then it’s time to break it off. They are emotionally unstable, fickle creatures. Once you see them for what they are, then you can interact with them correctly. As mentioned above, she was never yours, it was just your turn. Modern day women will listen to anyone that plays to their emotions and feelings and give them validation. Podcasts allow them to immerse themselves with crappy advice by unqualified people. A serial killer could make a podcast about relationships and women would tune in if they liked the message.

Believe me when I say that the woman you loved is dead and gone. The 180 flip is in their nature. Read the rational male by rollo tomassi and you will understand the inner workings of the female brain/psyche. But once you start dating again, you’ll see them from a whole different angle, one you can work to your advantage. I’m not entirely on the red pill bandwagon, but hypergamy is real and it’s alive and well. I’ll play with them from now on, but I doubt that I’ll ever trust another woman ever …

It’s game time, my friend. If she wants a divorce, then give her one because she doesn’t give a shit about you. Begging will only make her lose more respect for you. It’s time to man up, get yourself right and endure the suck. The biggest fight of your life is coming and I’d suggest you spend 3-4 hours in this sub reading of tales that all started like yours and the remedies that countless men speak of. The best way to start dating is to go on dates, it takes practice to get back in the groove after being out of the game for a while. I have been dating for a bit after the STBXW served me in may (she’s been “dating” for a WHILE I suspect) I am on a few dating apps and have had some good dates and bad dates, I have been up front with all of them regarding the fact that I’m not looking for a relationship and my kids are the first priority. Tell yourself that you’ll never let this happen again, ever… Hit the gym, get a therapist and love yourself again while you focus on your kids and their wellbeing. There’s nothing stronger than a man who has rebuilt himself after being torn down, especially by a woman. Get yourself right, stay quiet and stoic. It will piss her off more to see you happy. Get into the gym and turn that anger into muscle.

They’re sneaky and their stories will often check out, especially if you’re still blinded by love. My STBXW said there was no one else for a year before she found a strong enough monkey branch to step to, then I got served. I can’t prove anything, but with hindsight being 20/20 there is too much evidence to ignore. Once they make the choice to divorce, they change and I don’t believe there’s any going back.

Don’t bother hunting for the truth, it will come out in the wash. I had my suspicions when my STBXW started silencing her phone and going off radar when she went to conferences while I stayed home with the kids. Three weeks before she served me, a very “unique” gift showed up at the house that wasn’t my style (she purchased for someone else). She lied and said it was for me, but never gave it to me. Do I care? Kinda, but I’m happier without her sorry ass in my daily life. If she lied to me, that…

Here’s my advice… My STBX served me in may, I was devastated for months. The night she told me she wanted a divorce, I asked to see her phone and she gave the standard “I’m not playing games like that” answer. I have had suspicions for a while that she had been looking around and man shopping. Same happened with me, it must be in their wiring. You go from being the provider and protector that makes them safe to some kind of dangerous beast overnight. The more time I spend on this forum, the more I realize how precise the rational male book is in regard to the female psyche. They go from “strong, independent women” with a career to poor, beaten housewives once they file for divorce. My STBXW makes more money than me (by 30%) but two weeks after she served me we brought the kids out for…

I have vowed to not sell my truck in this divorce I’m going through currently. Over the last ten years I have sacrificed my own needs/wants for the betterment of the family and the STBXW and that has included driving crappy vehicles so she can have brand new cars. That means my new vow to myself is never to sacrifice like that again. I have an older pickup that is in great shape and I’m going to keep it forever, to remind myself to never put myself through that misery again

This is an all too similar story. Women get unhappy with their situation, they seek advice from anyone who will validate their feelings and they go to “find themselves” once someone tells them to do so. My STBXW served me papers after three therapy appointments, that’s all it took. Her decision will likely be the largest gift that she’s ever given me, but I was still blindsided by her actions

Exercise, meditation and eliminating drinking was key for me. Even when I have my kids and can’t get to the gym, I do 100 pushups before bed and meditate for a bit and I’ll sleep like a baby.

Thank you, sir, I needed this today. I am seven months from d-day and there’s a long row to hoe to get this done. The woman that served me is now a vindictive excuse for a mother, and ex wife and doesn’t remotely resemble the woman I married. I’ll survive, I’ll kick ass and I’m going to rewrite my own story for myself and my children’s sake. I was a fool and sacrificed everything for my family. Solid advice. She’s way ahead of you already and the woman you married is LONG gone, my man. I’m six months ahead of where you are. Get an attorney right now. You can save yourself a lot of money by filling out the paperwork and running it to the courthouse, but you will need an attorney eventually….trust me. Bingo! I believe my STBXW had her monkey branch break too, which explains her sudden change of heart. She was “happy” for a few months post-separation and now she looks like a wreck when I look at her, so I’d imagine that her fella dumped her. My question to you is this… Do you believe that she has changed? Or is she just terrified because she sees what is now coming her way and the consequences of her actions? I believe my STBXW is starting to see the consequences of her decision to serve me six months ago and is changing her tune. Mine served me six months ago and blamed everything on me. To be fair, I certainly played a part in the demise of the marriage. I have learned through intense therapy, dating and self discovery that my needs just simply weren’t being met and she was an absolute emotion drain on me. 6 months later and I’m in the best shape of my life, I am meeting more and better quality women who have no problem meeting my sexual needs anyway I want. If they don’t, then I don’t stick around. I spent my entire ma…

Ditto. If I didn’t have the therapist I do, I would have self destructed during the last six months since she served me. Find one that does psychotherapy and energy work, it’s mind blowing

She’s gone, and her mind is made up. Focus on getting yourself right and suffer through the suck. Get out and meet women when you’re ready, there’s plenty out there and once you get your confidence back they will literally throw themselves at you. Your ex really isn’t that special, she was just familiar to you. Their sexual market value plummets after 30, yours increases every day. Take your manhood back Look at the time honored advice that’s repeated time and time again. Work on you, honor your…

This…. Hot, sweaty, hours-long carefree sex in the back of a truck is more awesome than the ten minute long “duty sex” I had gotten used to within my marriage in a $2000 sleigh bed frame with a tempurpedic mattress. If you’re decent looking and confident you can seal the deal in no time. They’ll do whatever you ask during sex, rent you hotel rooms and fuck the shit out of you when they know they can’t “have” you.

She’s never coming back, you’re cold product to her now. I got served in may and here’s my advice. -lawyer up now -your relationship is nothing more than a business transaction now. -work on your physical and mental health like your life depends on it. -focus on the kids and doing right by them - if you start dating, view them for what they really are at face value. They really are fickle creatures, if you’re not ready to reach that conclusion then you’re not ready to date. -she was never really…

Good advice. OP: I’m not sure what your situation is but the “amicable” left the chat when she discovered that she had to pay what is owed to me per the LAW. Now we’re both lawyered up and awaiting them to hash it out. I made a fair deal to walk away from the house, she countered with one that’s laughable and I refused to cut my own bag to make her “happy”. Now we’re at least six more months away from getting resolution.

Excellent advice here. I completely screwed the pooch on a hookup a few months ago and was feeling pretty down about myself because I knew I could do better. OP, you need to release the beast like this man says. I was in a pretty sexless marriage consisting of 10-20 minutes of duty sex once every two weeks for over ten years. I got conditioned to think that type of sex was normal and IT IS NOT!!! When they’re back on the market, they want it hard, hot, kinky and fast. They won’t ever tell you th…

Same here. The concept of an “amicable” divorce is all fine and dandy until people start whispering in their ear and the finances get involved. I thought my STBXW and I were on the same page and willing to bargain up until the first round of mediation when the “poor little woman” came out and suddenly the marital home was unsafe for the children. All the while I’m living with my mom because I’m still paying half of everything and her life hasn’t changed. Now we’re both lawyered up and in the tre…

In regards to the HSV, I’ll have to do more research. The subject came up a few times before my marriage, during my stag days and I just bailed because I didn’t want it and , quite honestly didn’t want it. I don’t know enough about it

It’s hard to tell, everyone is different. I signed up for a few sayings sites about three months into my divorce after I found out that my STBXW was already dating. The divorce was her idea and I’m 99% sure that she was fucking someone else during the marriage anyway, but in the long run losing that short, fat little bitch has been awesome for my mental/physical health. But I digress… I have probably been on 6 dates in a number of months. One girl will reach out, we’ll grab a coffee and see wher…

This is the best advice here. I waited three months to secure an attorney because I thought amicable could exist. It can’t Btw: the land of p*ssy is plentiful here on the other side, my man 😂

Two months ago I was able to take my family’s heirlooms with me to wherever my new home will be eventually. During round one of mediation, those items were on the table and all good will was shot in the ass. It’s like bargaining with a flailing wildcat 😝

My wife served me in may of this year. I was a steady drinker and had been for a long time. I could drink beer all day starting at 8 a.m and function normally. I was able to function, change careers get promotions and take care of the kids by myself with no issues but deep down I always knew I should stop. The day she said she wanted a divorce was the last day I drank and I intend to never drink again. I was able to pass the withdrawal fog off as the shock from her serving me. I also knew that t…

It was more like 75/25 in her favor. I know the original post doesn’t mention numbers but I don’t want to put anything specific to the case on here. The offer was bogus and I was blown away by both her and the mediator’s attitude.

It was more of a vent than seeking advice. My numbers are correct and hers are bogus. I understand what is subject to 50/50 and I’ll take my licks if we get to court, but I was anticipating some goodwill and cooperation to resolve the issue and move this along. That’s not what happened

Can’t confirm, nor do I want to. I just wanted this over so we could both sail off into the sunset and chalk the marriage up to a total loss. I’ve always felt like I was just “security” while she built her career to the point that she could afford to ditch me and find a “proper” man that would spoil her with gifts like she always wanted. As her career has been building up, she has been disconnecting and I believe my suspicions were true. I was just too stupid to see it

It just pushed me across the DILLIGAF threshold. It’s time to hire the job out, my man. I manage a large complex for my job and I should have seen it coming, I was just blinded by emotions. It’s game on now, my hope is that she won’t go back on the parenting agreement
/r/Divorce_Men09/09/23 01:36 PM

Yup. I just never figured it would pan out this way. Every divorced man I speak to has told me that the script is playing out just as theirs did especially when it comes to “finding themselves”. The truth will come out in the wash, and I just no longer give a fuck about her. I’ve been played for too long and it’s time to say NO

Agreed, it was just disappointing
/r/Divorce_Men09/09/23 12:59 PM

Fortunately we agree on 50/50 because I believe her “finding herself” means finding someone else so she’ll need time to do that. She was a secretary when we met and has grown herself to be a successful woman in her chosen field, but the “poor little woman” mindset was alive and well during mediation, and the mediator ate it up. Even my attorney said it should be easy and not to burn it down if it wasn’t necessary. I’m too emotionally invested and evidently she feels entitled to everything.

I got snipped almost 7 years ago because my STBX had a terrible delivery with our last kid. Fast forward to now and she served me three months ago and I have had constant pain since the procedure than even reversal probably won’t solve. I did it for her to save her from having to get a hysterectomy, now I’m sterile. Mine was a one in one thousand case, but I’ll let you do what you will with the info. If you want it, know the risks first

A-fucking-men brother. I dealt with a dead bedroom and begging for exciting sex for 10 years but all I got was unenthusiastic head and five minutes of doggy per session…maybe two times per month at our peak. I was always waiting for greener grass around the corner…after nursing, after the toddler stage or maybe when the kids are teenagers that will be “our time” finally. Nope, the oldest is 12 and she blindsided me on Memorial Day weekend after I did a shitload of work for her dad that weekend. …

That’s my newfound reality, brother. Three under 12 and constant coordination. I have told her to keep everything in text unless it’s an emergency involving the kids, though. No phone calls unless it’s an emergency and no conversation without witnesses. And we’re not even divorced yet (she asked for the divorce). She has inferred twice that I’m not welcome around the kids for bullshit reasons and that’s why I went text only, I don’t need a bogus claim screwing up my 50/50 custody.

Keep working through it. I found a therapist and see her every week religiously, that’s my treat for myself and my mental health. While I was not perfect, I truly believe that I gave her my everything that I had with no regard for my own needs. I was a sacrificial lamb and gave everything to her. I’m 90 days out from her serving me and although I’m terrified for the future, I’m free and I give my energy to my kids when I have them. I’m hopeful

Yup. She was raised by a feminist, and as much as her biological (natural) female genes tried to push through, they couldn’t. Her mom was a slob, and that’s what she thought was normal.
