This 100%. If you can look at yourself a week ago or a year ago and think that you've done something worthwhile, that you've grown as a person and improve in some aspect of your life then you're on the right track. Making unrealistic comparisons to arbitrary definitions of 'alpha' can be unhelpful.

I agree with this completely. The gym is a space to improve and build yourself up, not just physically but mentally. Chasing after girls at the gym is just going to get in the way of that process. Also remember that you're working out and going to the gym for yourself, not so you can attract a mate. That's just a byproduct of improving yourself.

I personally hate ultimatums and when people give me them, it says something about their character. Your choices are to either ignore the ultimatum at which point she will either accept your deflection or move on. You could also accept her ultimatum and become 'serious' with her. This would undoubtedly put you in a position of vulnerability. Whatever you do, make sure it's on your terms.

What you're describing here seems to be some sort of self-imposed exposure therapy. You forced an uncomfortable situation on yourself in an attempt to desensitise yourself to the anxiety/fear of rejection. It seems to have gone well for you, good job.

Agree completely with this. Oversharing of every emotional issue in our lives is a relatively new phenomenon that has backfired enormously. Stoicism and stiff upper lip as ideological tenants have seemed to have been dying since the end of WWII although I'm not entirely sure how they relate.

I think you may have allowed yourself to become too emotionally attached to the situation which is fine. It's just important to recognise when something has affected you emotionally. Try to distance yourself from the event and practice some introspection.

All really good points but point 2 really stuck out for me. Having certain standards is the same as respecting yourself and your time. Time is the most precious commodity and there's no purpose in spending time on those that can't meet your standards whether it's loyalty, intelligence, attractiveness etc.

Anger can be a useful short-term form of motivation to achieve something. However, motivation is fleeting whereas discipline will never dissipate. Good post.

Self-destructive behaviour is extremely common. To put it simply, it seems that a primary characteristic of betas is that they lack a certain degree of self-awareness that allows them to perceive their own self-destructive actions. Now when he asked you to go outside, you could of indulged him which would itself be a very self-destructive and therefore beta thing to do. However, you made the right move and realised that there's very little worth getting stabbed over, especially pride.

Although this isn't the best place to find advice on specific workout techniques and routines, I believe the most valuable form of work out to be those that increase testosterone as it allows men to self-actualise in a way. I prefer to exclusively focus on compound lifts which are scientifically proven to raise testosterone levels in men. Of course proper technique is extremely important (you don't want to bust your back with poor technique). A part from that I'd say that a decent diet or even j…
