Maybe this is your problem.

For weight loss, only diet matters. If you want to look decent when you're finished then focus on 80|20 diet and lifting. The guy said he's never lifted before, so he's going to see huge dividends even at a deficit. I'm fairly strong and even my numbers are increasing at a 1500kcal deficit. Yeah, you won't get major muscle, but get as strong as you can then just focus on maintaining that strength during the weight loss. Then afterwards build it up. Almost every successful weight loss story I've …

Realize that video games aren't going anywhere, you can always go back to them one day if you wish, but your life and the people you meet along the way are finite. I wasted so much time on a useless box not learning any useful skills, being antisocial, getting fat, and missing out on life in general. Uninstall steam and all of your games. Put the power cable of your Xbox in the trunk of your car or in your locker at work. You must take action, it will make it easier to maintain your discipline. …

My depressed states almost always coincide with lack of physical activity. I might skip two work outs or I didn't walk my trail for a week then boom, I'm depressed whiny mess complaining about my current situation of future.

What would of been the proper thing to do/say in that moment?

When you are 25 and still wasting your life, you will wish you started when you were 20. Just fix what you can now and be grateful and hopeful for the future. Use your wasted youth as fuel for the fire to drive you to complete your goals, a righteous fury so to speak. It's what I do. I feel the same as you, except I wasted my early 20's also. I am 25 now, 6'2 and 415lbs. I have lost 30lb this month but I have still such a long way to go, it can be disheartening at times. Then after the weight lo…

Office hours and working with teacher's assistants will help big time, especially with programming.

I think you should start lifting immediately. I always read about people wishing they started weight lifting earlier during their weight loss. For me personally, cardio just takes up too much time and a strict diet is more than sufficient to promote weight loss. You will see results even at a caloric deficit, but imo it depends on where your current strength is at. If you've never seriously lifted in your life do it right away, you will see results even at a deficit. If you are already decently …

I agree. Whenever I get off of a 24 or 72 hour fast I find that my thoughts and cravings for food are altered. I tend not to crave garbage and instead go for nutrient dense, low carb, low sugar foods. You also get a better sense of how your food is your fuel, not an emotional crutch or a feel good activity.

I don't know much of the backstory here or the specifics. But whenever I am faced with the decision of doing something that will invoke emotions of anxiety or fear, I choose to go through with it. It helps you grow imho. I would say go, but again I don't know much of the backstory relating to how exactly your friend ended up with your ex.

Do you have any other information on how to find the story you mentioned in the sidebar? I'm on mobile and the sidebar can be wonky at times.

I am busy as an engineering student and I do 5x5 stronglifts 3 times a week for 45 minutes. It is not very time consuming.

Literally everything you said I've been doing, even the Fitbit. I've lost 30lb since January. But my issue is, how do I best get over this girl when I can't do the number one recommended activity, which is to get with different women. I've been channeling all the frustration and whiny feelings into my workouts but it isn't helping to change my outlook.
/r/askTRP08/02/17 01:52 AM

I made an edit to my post to clarify. But the gist of it is that my SMV is essentially zero due to being 150-200lb overweight at 6'2. I am invisible to women so just going out and getting laid is something that will have to wait 6 months to a year.
/r/askTRP07/02/17 10:20 PM

I should clarify. I didn't mean avoiding women in general, but rather not focus on dating or anything non platonic. I still talk to women, go out occasionally, and socialize. What I have taken away from TRP advice for getting over one-itis and her rejection is to go out and date other women. But seeing as I have about 0 SMV and am practically invisible to women (need to lose 150lb), I cannot just go out and see other women to get over the initial girl.

Removed the post. Didn't know that subreddit existed.

I think any goal, should be achievable only by YOUR actions and not be dependable by the actions or decisions of others. Losing your virginity is dependent on the thoughts and actions of others with which you can influence to an extent, but ultimately have no control over (unless you get a prostitute). Only focus on the things you can control which are your thoughts, actions, and body. Focus on making yourself into a more outgoing and interesting person. Lift weights. Read the sidebar. Be better…

Oh is that a separate subreddit? I'll delete this post then and set it up there.

Can you be more specific when you say "still considerably fat"? Height and weight wise.
/r/TheRedPill29/01/17 05:26 AM

Fuck being fat, and fuck sugar. I'm similar to you, wide shoulders, very strong, 6'2, pretty sure I might be good looking but impossible to tell when you need to lose over 200lbs. I appreciate your advice to just own what you got and fuck the rest, I will definitely incorporate this the closer I get to my goal weight. But I feel for me personally I will just focus on my weight loss and self improvement. Lift, keto, intermittent fasting, reading, focusing on my degree, kickboxing, and lots of dum…
/r/TheRedPill29/01/17 05:24 AM

Thanks I really appreciate the advice. I appreciate the metaphor, I have been attempting to do 5 miles of walking a day. Dieting has been reasonably easy, the working out is hard on the high calorie deficit.
/r/TheRedPill18/01/17 08:44 PM

I know I should go slow but I also really want to catch up on lost time. I keep telling myself the weight loss will be different this time because I'm focusing more on the psychological reasons I overeat. It really eats me up that I might have gotten something going with that girl if I had my weight in check, and I really don't want to be in this situation when I meet someone similar in the future. Oneitis I know, I'm working on it.
/r/TheRedPill17/01/17 05:39 PM

What about going out to simply improve social skills? The weight is going to take a good 1.5-2 years to lose best case, that's a long time to be in monk mode. Not necessarily to try to pick up women, but to just have fun and maybe be a wingman for my friends. To take me out of my comfort zone.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice.
/r/TheRedPill17/01/17 01:28 PM

It's funny you mention this, I was thinking about this the other day. I am a complete moron and inexperienced with women and I just recently began trying to improve, I put them on pedestals and become a friend-zoned orbiter. But one thing I have been trying to apply is my mentality with canines. I have always been excellent with dogs, pacifying even the most aggressive/dominant dogs with little fear for my own safety. I have always taken the Cesar Milan approach but a bit easier on the physical …

:Okay so this was intended to be short but kind of exploded into a plea for help : What could Chris do starting tomorrow to improve his situation? In many ways I feel sort of like Chris, but I have changed a few things. But honestly I don't know where to begin or if I even meet the minimum qualifications to begin using the tools found in this subreddit as I am behind on many aspects. Like Chris I am in a very small program at my college. I used to dress like a slob, think basketball shorts and t…
