That specific thing has never happened to me, but I get paranoid about that too when I receive random friend requests from people I never spoke to in HS!

I was attracted to FDS because of the memes I occasionally saw on the front page. Then I would sometimes see the sub tagged in hate comments with claims it was a misandrist cult and things of that nature. I figured if it was making so many people mad, I should at least check it out to see what it's really about. And I fell in love. I loved reading through the handbook and making connections to my past and my then pick-me-in-recovery-self. I took it all to heart and started to test it out on a ha…

Honestly you don't even have to like animation to love those shows! I'm not a huge fan of the genre at all but ATLA is just so good.

In The Office Ladies podcast, Jenna and Angela talk about how they didn't like Pam acting like a petty bully in that moment. They agree that it's good writing to make the characters real, relatable people who make mistakes. But they hated Pam for it 😅

A queen among queens! She always knew what she wanted, she worked for it, and she went and got it--no matter how many men in her life said she couldn't! And her husband seemed like a HVM too. He practically worshipped the ground she walked on and respected her not only as an independent woman, but as a human being. He still loves and honors her to this day, as we all do. Long live Selena 👑♥

The proposal itself can't just be a regular restaurant dinner or living room thing or while I do dishes...It should be a beautiful moment overall. Oh and not public, no one needs pressure during proposal. Again, should fit my overall lifestyle, style and taste. I definitely agree with you here! Though I am a nature person and would be absolutely over the moon with a romantic proposal at the pinnacle of a beautiful hike overlooking the mountains 😍 He should also setup his phone or camera to captu…

Your original comment made it seem like you were coming at me, thinking I was blaming her. That last sentence you edited in makes your initial point clear now.

Aaaaand it's sad that she can't see what the problem is here? Because she's been groomed by a predator? And he's manipulated her so much from such a young age that she thinks this is a healthy relationship, no matter how many people try to help open her eyes to the gravity of the situation? I don't understand what you think I meant? Part of being a child and teen is literally lack of maturity and experience that you only gain gradually over time. Yes that is the point. She was a CHILD. She did n…

It is really sad. Every time I've called out stuff like this, it is ALWAYS met with that same exact reply. These young women can't listen when their hand is on one ear and their man's hand is on the other.

Having that new, clear mindset really makes the rejection feel so much better 😈

She didn't reject him because of the van, she rejected him because of safety. Ok maybe the van thing too but she DEFINITELY didn't feel safe 🤣

I love the vanlife lifestyle, and I want the same for myself some day when I'm in the right place for it (though, I would build a bathroom of course...why wouldn't you???). But I'm not mobile right now and therefore do not want a mobile partner. If you had the van for part-time adventures but were mainly living in the city, that might be different depending on your other qualities and the actual van itself. And even then, it would take some serious time and vetting (several months) to ensure I'm…

Congratulations! That's amazing to hear ♥ What I'm most proud of is honestly just living by myself and getting to do everything on my own. I thrive on this independence, it turns out! When I write it all down, I've accomplished a good amount this year and am very proud of how much I've leveled up in 2020 💅👑

Van life is a personal goal of mine and I kind of found this post a little insulting. It's okay to not want to live in extravagance, and that doesn't make you LV. You were right when you said "If a person's van-dwelling lifestyle does not appeal to you, your core values might not align with theirs and it would not be a good match anyway."

Personally, I just start to withdraw from the guy. Oh, good thinking! A commenter above mentioned to give it more than 2 months if it's moving this slowly, which I do agree with. So if he reaches the end of his timeline without bringing this up, I'll follow your advice and slowly withdraw. Thank you!

I had a rotation, the others just have fallen off naturally on their own. I'm not attached, just was wondering how to move forward if he reached the end of the timeline without talking about commitment. I got great advice from a commenter above that I will be following, but thank you for your insight!

This is the advice I was looking for! Thank you! I was thinking that 2 months is too short of time since it's going slow, so thank you for confirming that for me.

Don't do it. He'll just use it as weaponry when trying to upset you, or even blackmail when he ultimately doesn't get what he wants as quickly as he wants it.

You've already set the tone by being accepting of low-value dates. He's accustomed to giving you this low effort and it will be difficult to change his behavior. You set the standards too low for yourself. You could try just being forward and honest, stating that you're not feeling valued because of this and that he needs to step it up in order to maintain your standards. If he pushes back, or if he starts improving to appease you and then stops shortly after, dump him sis. He doesn't care no ma…
