Shit bro, I got back into my education when I was 23. They had an open house at the university that I was rejected from the previous year. At the end of the tour the opportunity to register with the university was presented. They just had a clerk that reviewed all your docs. I talked my way into that school by explaining that although I was rejected last year, I had made changes and they accepted me there on the spot.

good point, rsd tyler made mentioned this recently. He called it 'dealing with blowback'. Doing whatever you want is only half of it, you also need to be able to deal with the social pressure that comes back on you for standing out.
