Summary Acknowledgement of the dark side of human nature is what sets aside old psychological ideologies from the soft, coddling ideologies of today.
Body Many old ideas are simply dismissed on the grounds that they are old, that the times were different back then, "they didn't know about the health effects of [hazardous chemical] back then", "neurosis aren't necessarily the rooted in childhood sexual trauma", "it was all [misogyny, patriarchy, ect] to blame". It is true, scientific knowledge does increase with time, cultures change. But what made those old ideas useful at the time was that they tended to reflect human nature out of necessity. To ignore reality came with consequences.
A-duh.
A recent post reminded me of a description that a Jungian psychologist gave about the destructive nature of the female. The dark side of female nature, an obscure topic previously confined to arcane books and ivory tower scholars. Now, its actually quite popular.... to avoid the subject and deny it's existence entirely. You know the deal.

From the Video
... I read once a book about a South American Indian tribe where there was an actual sociological matriarchy. There the women were fat, happy whores that ordered the men about. And the men were lean, submissive, nervous creatures who did all the work for the women.
(referring to the women)A world of earthly happiness, a life of total stupidity; of only living. Living very agreeably but not thinking or having any ideas or spiritual realizations
Very un-PC.
How many fat, ugly whores are there in today's world that have skinny, (nsfw)meek men do their bidding? How many have you seen in an average day? They are becoming the norm and are literally everywhere, even in positions of power. This is a slow-motion train-wreck of epic proportions, but to even speak out is social suicide. Even with the safetypartial anonymity of the internet, there is a risk.
That's about all I've got, discussion is welcomed in the comments.
The series linked to is very good overall. It happens to be about dream interpretation, so, if you have the time to listen there are lots of RPTM truths sprinkled over lots of discussion of Jungian topics, even this one dude who wrote a song about a pregnant lady being crucified, it's pretty catchy. And this one crazy cat lady with daddy issue who made these incredibly garish paper mache sculptures. I'll let you find them on your own if you choose to. The truth of the interpretations is to be taken with a grain of salt, but there's relevant truth to archetypes overall.
Lesson Learned 'The decline' has been know about for many generations. It has been kept at bay, naturally through self awareness and acknowledgement of the dark side of human sexuality. So don't be so quick to dismiss old ideas solely on the basis of age.
I welcome all criticism, this being my first post, writing has never come easily to me.
