And it ages women too...having a bad partner. I like getting mistaken for a 20 year old at the age of 32....lol.

I feel this post 100%. Growing up as a christian, I have seen this pick me mindset imo instilled in so many women from my experience. It's almost as if a lot of women's lives "start" once some guy puts a ring on it. Male validation is placed above self worth and it's really sad. I see so many women lose themselves in their husbands and children and place themselves and their dreams, ambitions, etc on the back burner. So much self sacrifice, its crazy!! I almost want to ask what some of these wom…

Right!?!? I hate that "who's your daddy" mess. I DO NOT want to be thinking about my dad in the throws of passion.

Thank you! I'm actually quite the nerdish bookworm on a daily basis, but I will say that I clean up quite nicely when the time calls for it. Yeah, it was just a passing thought, wondering if any other fds ladies can relate.

I've been getting into revolve, topshop and lulus lately. A bit pricey but its worth it to invest in pieces that will last you along time. I like shein too about 30% of the time as I have some very good quality items from them.

Yesss!! I had this happen with the last guy I dated. He asked me to be exclusive and then i told him i wanted to date and get to know each other more before i just hop into a relationship. He asked after 1 date and i like to take things a bit slower. He took me saying that as rejection and a slight against him. Started getting really disrespectful after that. It was super weird.

Isnt it weird how we miss people who treated us badly? I felt the same way about my ex, but i think i was trauma bonded to him.

I should show my mom this. She is 6 feet tall and has always had a complex about her height and wearing heels. She absolutely hated her nickname "bigbird" which she said family and close friends would endearingly call her. She still only wears flats to this day.

You have to start decentering his opinion of you sis. Your opinion of you is far more important, and you have to level up your thinking or mindset about yourself. I know it is easier said than done especially if you are fresh out of a toxic situation. But in time and with some possible therapy, his demeaning words and opinion of you will mean absolutely nothing. Just by him doing this, trying to lower your self esteem and confidence and triangulate you should let you know that you have dodged an…

Yes! I always try to remember Maya Angelou's famous quote "When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them". This has been words to live by when navigating people.

I’ve been wanting to get into martial arts if only to show off lol... I watch a lot of movies where the women can kick ass like the matrix, Lara Croft, atomic blonde, etc. and I love when women aren’t damsels in distress in movies!!

Mine is with any type of art form from drawing and painting to joining local acting and improv classes. Acting is something I’ve always enjoyed and loved since I was a kid in stage plays. Learning to play an instrument, particularly the piano is a hobby of mine as well. Spending lots of time with my nephew to make sure he grows up to becomes a hvm is also a desire of mine. He’s only five so he has some time lol

THIS! I have been called a B!*^& and crazy because I wouldn't let someone disrespect me or I got tired of being nice all the time and it wasn't returned. I don't mind being a kind person, I prefer it actually. But some people can really take that for weakness at times and you really have to let them know your not the one to be played with. I recently dated a guy from a very large and popular metropolis on the east coast (not saying all people from here are like this), and I had an inkling he fel…

I still have issues with this as well. I have never had an official romantic relationship and sometimes I can't tell between genuine interest and feined interest to have sex. Only time I've had real interest were christian guys, but they wanted to get married in 6 months to a yr. for sex lol. Any tips on how to tell?

LMAOOO....this reminds me of an article I found where the wife bought panty liners that her husband would wear because he would get poo skid marks in his underwear from not wiping or washing his ass well enough.....It just lets me know that some women want a man so bad that they overlook important things like having great hygienic skills.

Went through this too! I'm thinking dating apps may have a high concentration of people with NPD. Met him on Hinge. F-ing asshole. At the beginning, he was funny, cool to hang with, smart, sweet, etc. But he started talking to me any ol kinda way, and I dropped him, but I stupidly kept accepting him back after he profusely apologized, and of course the disrespect kept happening....Dude was on some straight Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde type stuff. Thankfully, I initiated the final discard before he cou…

Same here, I get tired of exerting more energy into friendships than the other person. I am down to about 2 friends who give me this energy back and I love them for it! One friendship, I still love her, we have known each other since H.S. and have been friends since freshman yr. 2003. But it feels like I give more than her. My loyalty has always been stronger than hers. At this point, it feels like it will be a "I'll see ya when I see ya" type friendship. It makes me sad cause we used to be so m…

That's a great mindset to have! This is how my mother primarily raised me to be, of course be with someone who has a good head on his shoulders, good career, etc. But women should definitely in IMO strive for this in their own lives as well. My mom and grandmother always told me to be able to take of myself financially with or w/out a man so I can at least easily step away financially if things go awry. If I ever have a daughter, I will teach her the same.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
