There are a number of men’s work communities that exist and it doesn’t matter what any feminist thinks about them. Man Kind Project, Sacred Sons, Wildman gatherings. if you aren’t near one of these groups, consider starting a men’s group with your male friends. I did it with some of my friends and it was one of the best things I’ve ever been a part of. There’s a lot of negativity here. Just saying there are ways to build healthy masculine containers and honestly just tune out the feminist noise.…

Hey man. I hear what you’re going through. I don’t think the problem is that you masturbate. But the quality of how you do it. Do you watch porn every time? What kind of porn do you watch? You don’t have to answer these questions here. because porn is so highly stimulating, switching from this shot to that shot, being able to find another highly arousing image, you’re brain gets co conditioned to that which makes actual sex not as arousing. try to not watch porn when you do and maybe try to decr…

Yea it’s ok for men to cry as long as their emotions don’t offend me. Man shows emotion of anger: not ok Man cries over feeling lonely and expresses being unsatisfied in the dating market? Incel, canceled.

Some bullshit like that. Feminists love to believe that if women were in power everything would be flowers and rainbows

I agree with that. Power corrupts. Gender has little to nothing to do with it.

To that they would say something like women in power act that way because they are trying to level up with men in power.

To that they would say, those women do that because they are around other men in power and if those men weren’t there in the first place the women would act in their innate feminine qualities.

When I bring up male victims of war I often hear “well men started the wars” as if to say men should pay the consequences of war and don’t deserve compassion. I find this infuriating and lacking compassion and integrity from people who otherwise care about humanity. What is your response to something like that?

Yea blue balls is a tough one. I’ve only found relief without ejaculation a few times in my life. Once or twice through the power of psychedelics and a few other times just pushing through and stretching to move that energy. My teacher shared that it is possible to get relief by becoming aroused again and moving the energy without ejaculation. That takes experience and obviously still not a great option. Unfortunately the best thing to do is to ejaculate. try doing it without watching porn? Look…

Use thetinmanblog’s posts. Unfortunately the data in feminist circles is skewed and cherry picked against men. This post is great. Something like 80% or violent crime is perpetrated by men but the reality is that 0.2% of all men perpetrate that crime. And men are still more likely to experience violence than women. TheTinMan has given me a lot of perspective on this.

Start a mens group. Not a unhealthy boys club. But a mens group dedicated to vulnerability and is expression of manhood. There are many groups out there. Sacred sons, mankind project, wildman. Share space with men in a healthy way. Honor your own masculinity. Many men don’t have healthy male role models, and these groups are where you can find some.

Man I feel for you. I could honestly read much of this in my own words. I struggle with these things myself too. I’m working on it. Have you ever heard of the book No More Mr. Nice Guy? I read pieces of it a while back. The title says a lot. It’s important to be kind and treat people and women with respect and dignity, but not at the expense of yourself and what you desire. I think being direct or at least honest about what you want with someone is crucial. And it’s ok to not know. Don’t do the …

The point is men need someone to talk to. And there are some things only men can understand about each other. We have this very toxic culture of men being told not to express their emotions, then choosing to shove them down every time they come up and pretend everything is ok, then those emotions unenviably come up as anger, frustration, pushing people away. I’ve experienced this and so have many more men. Yea some women maybe don’t want to see a man’s emotions but that’s toxic and you shouldn’t…

the fact that more people are downvoting than answering my question tells me what i need to know about this sub. its toxic af. ya'll are doing the same shit you rag on feminists for doing. playing the victim constantly as if you have no agency in your life. Big agree. The real change comes from how we show up in our lives. I've noticed this sub impacts me in a much more negative way than a positive one. One on hand its made me more aware of men's rights issues and perspectives, but on the other theres very little constructive and positive discourse. The way things are isn't set in stone. We can have impact in our lives by being good men to everyone. And not being in warrior mode all the time creating animosity between yourself and the women you int…

You assert that feminist/woke culture is horribly damaging. I'm not disagreeing, but can you elaborate on whats so horribly damaging about it? Like, what does the movement actually believe? Bc I'm sure not everyone has the same views. u/Crabbycrabcrab2 is right, this movement does attract a lot of sexist men, and we shouldn't let sexism go unchecked if we're going to critique the ways feminists portrays MRA's.

I don't get why you're getting downvoted so much. Good on you for giving up pron and masturbation. While on one hand I agree that masturbation shouldn't be so shamefully stigmatized, and healthy pleasure habits are important for well being and sexual health, on the other I recognize the deterioration of my life with an uncontrolled masturbation habit, especially with ejaculation every time. I feel similarly in my relationship at times when I'm practicing no ejaculation. I want to have sex more f…

And let me add some nuance. We all have trauma in some way. But ive never talked to a promiscuous women who had great, respectful sex with all their partners. All of them had many guys take advantage of them, not care about their feelings, hurt them during sex and not really care, or just not feel like its a loving experience. So do what you want but women need to understand that its not obligatory for their future partner to have to deal with their trauma or be completely ok with their past.

That sucks and I hate that for you. It sucks that when men have a problem society blames the individual for it not the system. Autistic men have it the worst. I myself believe I’m slightly on the spectrum, but it’s not really outwardly noticeable. My therapist helped point that out to me but ultimately told me it’s really not worth getting an official diagnosis because it will likely hurt me for discrimination reasons. Imo it’s not worth being diagnosed for that reason. I can just learn to under…

I used to think this too but I have become disillusioned. I simply don’t trust anyone in power to not skew or abuse that power to benefit the elites in some way. We’re already seeing it happen with “you will own nothing and be happy”. The reality is, you will be a slave to subscription services provided to you by corporations that will demand you continue to work and if you don’t work or if you say something that is “offensive” you will lose your freedom in such society. The elites will always m…

I’ve experienced this a lot in the past too. Initiating physical touch has been a struggle of mine in the past. I think in part it comes from low self esteem and inferiority complex. Recognize you are a human person, an equal part in the dynamic of relating to another human, and most of us have very similar desires(touch, kissing, romance). Honestly next time there’s a moment that feels good, ask, and go for it. You’ll both be relieved.

This is typical Nice Guy Syndrome. Go read "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Way of the Superior Man" You'll never get what you want by playing the nice guy. Doesn't mean that very problematic and sexist ideas living in the psyche of many modern women don't exist But you have to devote your life to the man you want to be, without seeking the validation of women. Be fierce and loving and women will come. And it seems counterintuitive but you, and we as men, need to get over the idea that asking women o…

I recently read a post from a therapist where she talked about not wanting to gate keep the mental health space. She provides tons of free tools to use to help yourself and your friends and family. There are things that need professional help, but that doesn't mean non "professional" people cant help you. Sometimes all we need is for someone to listen and say "i hear you" "you are not alone" "How can I support you?". It requires a level of emotional intelligence that shouldn't be assumed, but do…

You’re not wrong. I don’t understand why it’s ok for women to lump all men into one group and say they are all trash but if a man does that they are the worst piece of garbage on the planet. It’s never ok to make broad generalizations about entire groups of people because no group is homogenous.

Man I can relate. I was just having a conversation with a female friend about this last night. I told her I fear that women often don't see me as sexually attractive because I'm usually not very forward with my sexual desires. I learned to be this way from hearing from countless women complain about how they don't want to be approached, or hit on in random places, or honestly even spoken to at all. So i rarely ever put that forward. But yet, even the women that complain about this, still end of …

Please ignore most of these shitty comments. There are other steps to take before that. Become involved in her connection to her womb and encourage her to track her cycles. Use protection and when she’s good at tracking her cycles y’all can have unprotected sex during the good period. There’s waaaay more that can happen before getting a vasectomy.

Isn’t it ironic how they actually hurt women by making these absurd arguments. If a woman is accepting money for a sexual act SHE IS CONSENTING. now if a a man is blocking the door and then offers money then that’s a different story but in the modern age of voluntary sex work most often the woman hold the majority of the power. Source: my partner is a sex worker. I’ve noticed for a while now how radical left and right people actually do more harm than good with ludicrous arguments. It’s off topi…

It doesn't have to. Its not as black and white as you'd like to make it seem. My father does lots of household chores, laundry, sweeping/vacuuming, some yard care. Every family is different. Does this stereotrype exist? Yes. Is it 100% accurate? absolutely not. I wont ever "expect" my partner to do all the household chores while I sit back.

Personally I will not expect my wife to. I am an equal contributor to household chores. I already do them on my own and I will not put cooking, cleaning, laundry, yard work on my wife. Some men may still be stuck in this 1950's thing but I am not. Yea it'll be great to be able to ask someone to cook a meal for me when I don't have time, but I will do it in return when she needs it. The point of my comment though is that if we're single, both sexes still have the obstacles of cooking, laundry, cl…

Very much so. I remember most of my adolescence being very touch deprived. I wasn't good at the whole initiating physical contact thing but that's what was expected of me as a man. I eventually realized how fucking important touch is to us humans, but i thought it had to come in the form of romantic relationships (it doesn't). I'm super happy with where I'm at now. My friends and I have normalized touch where we can really feel intimate and safe. Through all this I learned that my love language …

I was trying to be sympathetic to her a first but after the argument that happened a few days ago where she used the toxic masculine by shaming your opinions and emotions I lost all empathy for her. It seems like you did your part to have discussions with her and try to present different perspectives but if she was to grossly generalize all men including you her partner then that’s work she has to do. I believe in literally every case, overgeneralizations are wrong and lead to bad assumptions. I…

There is a lot of internalized shame around the desire to have sex. that shame may be stronger in women but is by no means just a female thing. That shame presents itself as denial of the urge so putting others down for having that urge is their way to feel power over the situation.

As if women don’t also sexualize men and want to fuck them solely based on their physical attractiveness. Women have sexual urges too.

Circumcision is the first act of sexual assault a man faces. Right out of the womb, stripped from your mother, placed on a cold metal table to undergo an incredibly painful procedure. I believe lots of male issues from violence to emotional unavailable stems from forced circumcision.

I whole heartedly disagree. Men need their fathers to teach them what women cannot. Part of the problems in our society today are a result of kids and boys especially not having their fathers. This could be due to incarceration, abandonment, a heavy work load, a long commute to work. The father doesn't have to be physically gone to be emotionally unavailable. Robert Bly, author of Iron John, talks in great detail the importance of fathers to their sons. There are many things a mother can teach t…

I just watched a tiktok my feminist housemate shared where the women claimed that women being jealous of other women and being mean to them is reinforcing toxic masculinity. Like what?? couldn't that be toxic femininity or say, being just a toxic person?? We've all got shit to work through why does everything have to be tied back to toxic masculinity?

This is all fine if that’s what your standards and boundaries are but uphold them yourself. If men held themselves to these high standards too there would be no dating. Women can be such hypocrites. “Oh I deserve this or I deserve that” well I do too. So how about you get off your high horse and treat men how you want to be treated. After all they “deserve” it too.

Yea it’s an interesting dynamic. One that seems to promote a consumerist mentality or a revolving door of partners. It’s something that both men and women perpetuate. But also keep in mind it’s not a constant and attractiveness doesn’t always dictate likelihood of participating in hook up culture.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates13/07/21 11:23 PM

what are you referring to when you say top 20% of men? Top 20% income or attractiveness?

Interesting point to hook up culture being hyper capitalistic. To me it brings up the idea that what we have is never enough and we must always be replacing with something better. With hook ups and often time polyamory, it can feel transactional like the person is here to serve me and when I’m done it’s over and I move onto the next best thing.
