Yeah think about if she would take the same from you or is she accounting child support to the nickel

Would you be willing to share the name of the attorney who filed this for her? Honestly it’s going to take some major reform to stop this disgusting tactic but a short term fix is to file complaints against the opposing counsel with the bar association ethics committee. One complaint, nothing happens. But apattern of similar complaints… now there’s some smoke.

Get the JAG to 1) draft the protective order keeping that guy away from your kids 2) draft the emergency petition to take full custody of your kids and 3) draft the TRO preventing her from moving the kids or consuming alcohol while she is supposed to be watching them and 4) anything else that she can think of to stop this

The woman who you loved is gone. The person in front of you is your adversary now. Your adversary is playing nice to your face while more than likely seeing the coworker and others, and will continue to play normal and nice with you… That is until it comes time to talk splitting assets, alimony, child support etc. and all this friendliness is simply to get you to sign up easily for your own financial enslavement.

Don’t give 70% because that’s full custody in most states and she’s going to be able to relocate the kids to a lower col area that serves her better

This 100%. Peace through strength, you get everything you need in place for trial. Work backwards, what does complete and total victory/justice look like? How did you get there? What did you have to show the Judge? What did she show that you had to overcome? How were you going to lose, and what steps did you take to avoid that outcome? Etc. And if she offers something you can live with, take it and be done- the family law system and justice are farther apart than Israel and Palestine.

Nah, don’t give up so easily- she’s choosing not working and has the opportunity to at least do summer school at her same job. She’s not required to work but she can’t voluntarily impoverish herself either simply to make you pay more.

I really appreciate your post here, it seems like a rare instance of honest self reflection (of all people ). I hope you feel welcomed here. Personally I dealt with a similar situation that divorced or single friends said I wasn’t doing enough for her - which was true, I resented being the sole income, chef, dishwasher, grocery shopper, parent, budget analyst, lawnmower, snow shoveler, vacuumer, bathroom cleaner etc. so it’s true I didn’t do a lot for her at the end, but in my defense I was exha…

She files, but also means she seeks a “temporary” restraining order. It’s an ex parte hearing meaning neither you, your lawyer, the facts or even your side of the story are present. Instead, she can lie, get your kids, have you arrested and or barred from seeing them or stepping foot in your house without even an iota of proof. And then she gets to participate in the hearing that contests the “temporary” order, which she can delay for months and months after which all of that time is used agains…

Do it now before she tries to silver bullet you- and use the affair partner as a witness.

This 100% the person you fell in love with and thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with is GONE. The person now there before you is your adversary who will lie, cheat, steal to hurt you and take advantage of you financially.

I’m so confused she wants your equity for nothing and to keep the HELOC proceeds? I believe the expression is GTFOH
/r/Divorce_Men20/05/26 07:57 PM

You need to refer to a different part of the contract if there’s no CS, which is where these expenses are typically accounted for- try looking at shared child expenses
/r/Divorce_Men20/05/26 02:12 AM

I’m guessing that you probably can’t afford to buy her out of the house. Suggest you take on repayment of the HELOC in exchange for her equity in the house.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. I struggled with this empty house particularly, and often simply went to the bar. Eventually started some hobbies and clubs which were great distractions. But truly eventually the therapy and exercise have helped the blues. Now I look forward to my night off because I can socialize or not or do whatever I want. Stay with it, you’ll get there

Dude, you have all the facts in your favor, and the law probably should work in your favor. The Judge is probably overwhelmed by your narrative (200+ pages) they don’t have time for all that. the lawyer is going to distill it down into important/unimportant and get it into a format that the judge, also likely a former lawyer, will understand and be persuaded (if possible). At the very least getting that debt split 50/50 via the lawyer will be worth it
/r/Divorce_Men08/05/26 10:03 PM

Better to get the lawyer now, she’s going to use this nonsense to bleed you for more money. Short term debt now to get your kids back is worth it- appeal that craziness

The first problem is that women are permitted to defer all their needs, happiness, desires etc. as YOUR responsibility, and any failure is consequently your fault. The second is that the law financially rewards them for breaking the family up - and provides zero incentive to take any responsibility.

How about I did the food shopping, cooking, dishes, cleaning, bathrooms, mine and kids laundry, brushed their teeth, bathed them, got their lunches done, got them dressed every single morning, took them to all (94%) post school and weekend activities paid every bill and she sat around as the SAHM so I got to pay for her “contribution” which as far as I could tell was dusting, smoking weed, texting her drug friends, and abusing or neglecting the children.

Yup. If you're here, that means she's probably built, or is building her lifeboat. They'll have a plan and it will 100% involve a direct targeted manipulation (because they know you so well) to provoke a reaction that she can hold over your head to law enforcement and/or the Court later.

It's very nice that you're interested. These are stereotypes, but one if not several probably happened to your father: Your father has his own side of the story - and probably hasn't told you his to avoid disparaging your mother. Your mother probably, didn't do the same for him and you know her reasons for divorce through and through. Your father probably paid a huge amount of money in settlement that she didn't help work for, or support. or contribute to in anyway and that he was essentially st…

Disclaimer: Not a lawyer, and definitely not your lawyer. My advice, I'm sorry. The system is absolutely designed to fuck you and reward the spendthrift drug riddled abusive cheaters. You need a therapist, a rigorous exercise plan, and a good lawyer. That being said from what I've read you have a couple of things in your favor: House was bought before the marriage, that's not hers - that's separate property. She probably will try to STEAL half of the increase in value - but go back through and s…

Every decision she's made up to this point has been to hurt you: couples therapy? She wanted more ammunition and potentially a witness for her side. Therapy for you? So she can show to the Court that you're mentally unfit. Sounds like she stayed around three years to work things out? To justify spousal support, cheaper day care with your child support money, and to take advantage of a robust stock market and family law that allows her to expropriate your assets and retirement funds. Cried or sho…

Disclaimer: Not a lawyer and definitely not your lawyer. I understand your trepidation in "kicking the hornets nest" and it's certainly a valid and real concern. The problem as I see it, is that she continues to file things against you seeing if something will stick. My advice, get a lawyer, file for converting that temporary order to a final order, and seek child support at the same time. At the very least the court HAS TO award something to you as the full custodial parent.- You now have lever…

I know that feeling, but you have a son - you don't get to be selfish anymore. Do you really want her and/or some other men she picks up along the way raising him without you? I sincerely wish you the best of luck, hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Then be prepared for the Court and/or her to blindside you with a big monthly bill - and you get to subsidize her drug / makeup / dick habit for the next 16 years or more!
/r/Divorce_Men08/03/26 07:22 PM

Disclaimer: Not a lawyer. My opinion, the law is very clear on this issue, your new marriage / spouse's wealth doesn't impact the child support calculations. There's been plenty of men whose exes remarried a multi millionaire and the ex-wife was still permitted to impoversh them - shoe's on the other foot here, tell her to GTFOH. And get a lawyer and annuitant to bring a present value of that trust into her income calculations.
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/26 12:44 PM
12

She's trying to give you the majority of the childcare responsibility while being paid like you aren't involved at all. The overnights give her basically full custody and maximizes your child support payments to her, in addition to 30% in spousal support (my guy, get a lawyer). Tell her to go back to 50/50 or you'll get your own lawyer (which you should do anyway) who will tell them to GTFO. In part because she'll have to explain why you don't deserve 50/50 when she was prepared to give you all …

/r/Divorce_Men23/02/26 12:51 PM

Yup, and she still gets to steal from you after its done too - she was preparing and everything she stole is hers, she gets to keep, and shet gets to steal from you until you're dead / and if you have a pension, after you're dead too.
/r/Divorce_Men22/02/26 02:35 PM

They really are - expropriate half your stuff (certainly not earned, but as your lawyer said good luck proving it even with thousands of photos showing their "parenting" from the couch on the phone while you slaved) keep your wallet on forever vows, while having no obligation whatsoever.
