Life gets better. Genuinely. The 10-year-old is the whole ballgame right now, just stay present and consistent. Kids are resilient when they know one parent has their back no matter what. You being worried about wrecking their life is honestly a sign you won't. The parents who don't worry are the ones to watch.

Caught my wife cheating one month after our 20th. Have three older teens.

It was rough for me and my kids for the first 6 months. She moved out and I maintains full custody. It will absolutely impact your kid. You'll need to be mindful and on top of managing that new dynamic.

Other than that, I sold our old cars, bought the truck and sports car I always wanted. Got rid of a ton of shit in the house and enjoy life now. Do what I want when I want.

Have a great girlfriend who is an upgrade from my bitch ex wife.

I'll never marry or move in with a woman again. I don't care if that ruins a great relationship. I prioritize sanity and peace over a woman any day. And I when I get desperate to bang a woman, Pornhub to the rescue.

Surprise divorce from a 12 yr relationship with 6, 5 & 5 yr old and a 6 month old house built to satisfy her. Kids were rattled for 6 mth, i was rattled for 12 mths but now 18 mths apart and i see it as a blessing ever day.
My opinion is to try to stay in a relationship if both psrties want to put the effort in to maintain and improve the relationship. Once one party no longer cares for an extended period of time and isn’t likely to change, not much point staying in it.

My daughter was 10 when I split with her mother. She is thriving and 16 now. I am thriving and happy in another relationship. Everyone is better off to be honest with you, including my ex.

It’s a tough time through the actual divorce and it will feel like you are going to break at some points, but the results are usually worth the effort, from what I’ve seen.

It’s up to you if you want to stay in an unhappy relationship for the rest of your life. Or try branching out on your own.

Child from marriage 1 well adjusted. About 2 years after I met another lady, became blended families.

Second family don't get me started. Just when you thought you could trust again... Anyways 2 years on from that and a brutal divorce battle that would make Netflix and Game of Thrones blush we are through. Not only are we through we are thriving.

Things get awesome, you need to rediscover who you are. You lost alot and gave up a lot. What do you like to do?

3 young kids for us, their mother broke the family and 8 months later the kids have adjusted and have been resilient, thank god. It still sucks though
