How did you get my wedding pics?

Okay, yes. I have a real life thing to go with this. At my college, engineers were required to take "Science, technology and society" courses instead of English. I took one on gender and technology or some such nonsense because it was easy. It was cross listed for the women's studies major :-| I spent an entire semester listening to how oppressed I was supposed to be. All the engineers in the room first tried to argue (me included) then just went along with it for the A. By the end of the semest…

I was just thinking that I would fit in wet well at that school with all the wonderful boots! I've got my eye on a new pair :)

I subsist on Greek yogurt and cheese, so yes. Would that do it?

This was something that my husband pointed out just last night. He said "I want a real kiss when you leave, not that bullshit peck as you fly out the door!" I was shocked, seriously. It's such a rush in the mornings and I thought that any affection at all while he was getting ready was an annoyance (I have to leave first). My husband wants to kiss me! Sign me up, I am on it! :)

Ironically enough, my acne is largely hormonal, and the more I try to work on it, the worse it gets! At this point, I will be back to a warm washcloth and Cetaphil before too long. I'm too old for this nonsense!

I found that the pill had a similar effect on me. It my my lows lower and dampened the highs of life. It helped wth the acne and the period problems, for sure, but I was all out of emotional kilter. When I went off it, I actually felt human again! Now I have acne and cramps, but it's worth it for the emotional well-being. Hubs and I are in total agreement over it too, which is awesome!

Oh this is so true! Many a good evening has been ruined by the second-hand mood ruining in my home and I am working to et myself out of my own head. For me and for the hubs!

Thanks! It was a hard thing to come to terms with, knowing that I ruined my body, but even still the weight loss was worth it. I wanted to be the kind of woman who attracted the types of men that I was attracted to... And it worked! :)

I enjoyed listened to "How to Win Friends and Influence People." It's not RPW, but working on some of the principles has already helped me in the non-romantic aspects of my life.

Hi! I'm controlyourselfseriously, I think. I've been lurking and occasionally commenting on RPW for around three years now under various names. I will be 25 this year and have been married since last June. In college, I was fat, unhappy in my relationships and just a generally miserable person. After graduation, I came to realize that I was better than that and started working on being the person that I had been before college, and then even better! I dropped 50 lbs before I met my husband, and …

I am fairly certain that you are my spirit animal lol I am so proud of you, even though we have never talked in real life or much more beyond how awesome guns are, but it seems we have struggled with some of the same things. I still struggle with those things, so seeing you overcome the walk in the door, drink in the hand thing is wonderful! I hear myself complain about work and know that it's stressing my hubs. It's so pointless. Thanks for sharing!

Hopping off of dixie's comment, definitely check for ladies clubs at your local range! All the towns around the places I have lived have had activities for us girly "gun-toting crazies".

I think the worst part about it is that I do this to myself! He doesn't insist on a Better Homes and Gardens home. He doesn't care, as log as my stuff isn't all over! Thanks for the support! We are all here to better ourselves, right? Even if it means admitting that I broke a toaster oven on accident because I was frustrated with something entirely different. Like a crazy person.

I admit that it is easily the area in which I struggle to stfu the most. I am always so ashamed about it after I say something. The. I walk through a room filled with stuff and nothing will fit in the cabinets and I get frustrated and try to make it fit and then I break the toaster oven because the door on the cabinet WILL CLOSE. This happened last night and he is wondering where his lovely balanced wife went and when this junk banshee moved in. I apologized profusely, plan to buy another toaste…

I am so bad about this! We have Goodwill battles and I have learned to just shut up and not touch anything. He pulls things out of the donation pile even if it's mine from before we were together. So I clean around all the piles of stuff, try to keep my areas straightened and I don't buy anything. And I keep my mouth shut, because he will address all the stuff in the guest room when he feels like it. Or he will just joke about burning the house to the ground so he never has to, which makes us bo…

I think 22 is expensive everywhere! There is a limit on how much you can buy at most brick and mortar stores, and gun show ammo is prohibitively expensive.

Oh that's awesome! We are going to prank my dad with the first tannerite target. Just set it up on the rifle range and see his reaction. It should be almost as good as when we convinced him to let us make a Molotov cocktail out of grandad's "medicinal" whiskey. I think my Ruger experience is pretty limited. Mostly just 22. I love a 9 mil, and my absolute favorites shoot a 9 mil makarov.

OH we go to all of them that come to town! This year, we bought them out of explosive targets. I think next time we will probably invest in some of those hard steel flippy targets that you can kinda make race if you have two people with pistols. And I will probably be in the market for a pretty over/under. I have never even laid eyes on a bolt action shotgun!

My thrower is called "daddy" lol! We have one of the handheld flingers but there is also a truck mounted one with a step on it so you can do both yourself if you wanted. We just haven't been able to find that one in a while! Hubs and I have been looking at a new thrower for my dad for Father's Day.

PB2 is powdered. It's a reasonable substitute for peanut butter in some things, but I won't lie to you by saying that it's just as good or anything. I am just prone to eating regular peanut butter out of the jar, so I keep it around instead. You are so awesome! I can't imagine being good enough at shooting to be on a team. We just plink around on the farm, and sometimes the whole family comes with to shoot clays. Hubs always has to be last in line and I have to be first, because lord knows I can…

That's how I make my Thai sauce! I use PB2 in it usually, because I can't have regular peanut butter in the house. And guns, gosh I love shooting. Daddy taught me how to shoot rifles and shotguns, and hubs taught me handguns. :)

Daily: Morning: Big glass of water, Brush teeth, floss (sometimes), witch hazel and rose water (to wake me up and get rid of any residual moisturizer oils), spritz of vitamin C serum (currently looking for recommendation for a new one, because this one doesn't do much!) After work/evening : Workout followed by a grapefruit wipe if I don't have time to do a full cleanse. Oil cleanse, Cetaphil, shower with Pantene shampoo/conditioner (again, depends on the work out), bamboo hair moisturizer for my…

I made harissa sauce two nights ago from the skinny taste cookbook. It's yummy, light, goes on anything, and plus it's yummy! I was slightly disappointed that it didn't have more complexity, so I am going to keep fiddling with the recipe. Lettuce wrapped everything. Hubs lives lettuce wraps and it's awesome to see him so excited when I serve them! Hilarious too, because I literally just make a regular entree with thinly sliced or chunked meat and put it on lettuce. And my newest favorite thing e…

When I was younger, Valentine's Day seemed so much more important than it is now. We are going to a restaurant we frequent with an excellent chef, as we have for the past few years now. As for presents, we bought a new vacuum cleaner.

I've noticed that my relationship is so harmonious compared to my pre-RPW reading. The only time that it isn't harmonious is when I get down on myself and he notices that something is bothering me ( I bother me more than anything!) or if I get snippy due to stress. This place is wonderful.

I started following RPW two or three accounts ago (I change every couple of years). I don't remember how I found it, but I believe it was through a link in another subreddit. I was hooked after reading one of Phantom's posts. At the time, I was horrendously overweight, likely depressed, and terribly lonely. I had just gone trough a bad breakup and my best friend was my dog. He felt like my only friend. In spite of all that, I knew that I wanted a relationship like my momma and daddy have. I thin…

I've been cooking and baking since I was a girl, but recently got more into it as an art and a hobby. The biggest thing that helped me move from cooking like my mom (winging it, yet mom's always turned out deliciously) to being a more elegant cook was reading cookbooks. Even if I don't make the recipes, you get a good feel for what goes together and when. I am still not great by any stretch, but I can hold my own! It's a lot easier to host dinner parties and stuff, now that I am not so worried t…

I used to have a whole library, but I donated most of my books. I knew they bothered my husband and I didn't think I would read them again. I recently picked up "Home Comforts: The Art and Science of Keeping House" and that's been a lot of fun.

I always ask for cleaning supplies for holidays! I asked for one of those no-touch toilet wands for Christmas and nobody (not even my mom, Christmas Kitchenware Queen!) believed that I really wanted it. He bought me one during grocery shopping last month and I was so excited that he Go Pro'd me using it the first time. I have also included things like a new vacuum and shelves for the laundry closet. I am so lucky that hubs thinks I am cute instead of ridiculous!

I commute 3 hours a day too. It's a tough grind, and the job market for my degree is not what I thought it would be closer to home. It's exhausting! I have many goals this year, but eliminating that commute has to be number one.

1). I adore my husband because he is smart. He has taught me so much, especially about money! 2). I have an extremely long commute to work. By the time I get down the stairs, he has a lunch (and usually breakfast too) waiting, along with my pink travel mug filled to the brim with freshly ground and brewed coffee. He's amazing, seriously. He packs up lunches for us while I make dinner each night, and they are within my allotted calories for that part of the day, AND he even makes sure I get my fa…

No, seriously about the nail polish... I have such a pretty shade of pink, but it takes approximately 1.5 billion coats to get to the right color. I did my nails the other day, coat four was suitably dry ( or so I thought) and I was debating one last coat. Went to grab a glass of water, hit my hand, ruined 4 nails, got frustrated, and wiped it all off. I am fairly certain that my husband is STILL laughing.

Oh my goodness. I am so glad that I am not the only person who gets increasingly anxious when I can't feed my husband perfectly. I love cooking and baking and am pretty darn good, and when I don't feel like he is satisfied I get so anxious and really, really down on myself. How can I fix it?!

I am a morning person, yet when my alarm goes off my first instinct is to bash my head into the pillow and say "I don't wanna go to work, I don't wanna drive today," in one breath followed by a groan as I try to get my pretzel back straightened and upright. So I guess we all have things to work on STFU for haha

My main goals this year: -Pay off $10,000 on my student loans. I took a break for the holidays and need to get back on track. -Lose 20 pounds. At 5'10, 155, I would like to get to 135 and then assess tone and such. I will see how I feel at 145. I think I could accomplish 145 by the end of January. -Develop and maintain a housekeeping plan. I got better toward the end of 2015, but I would like to really lock that down. -Get a good capsule wardrobe going. I've started buying only quality items and…

Hooray! This past week was a pretty big success for me! I cleaned the whole house, top to bottom, and topped it off with a dinner party and cookie baking extravaganza with my best girlfriends. Our husbands had a blast drinking beer and burning stuff in the fire pit. My wonderful husband was so good while I was getting the house ready. I would get a little snippy, immediately apologize, and he would remind me that these were my best friends and they wouldn't care what the house looked like. It wa…

I love skinnytaste! I like that the ingredients are things that you typically have on hand, and the recipes scale well. If it feeds four, I can have one serving (I keep to a low-cal diet) and my guy can have as much as he wants. Sometimes I use allrecipes too, but I have to find the recipes with listed calories. His favorite thing so far were turkey spinach and feta burgers that I served on a lettuce wrap.

As for gifts: I got him a very nice straight razor set and some lovely scented soap and aftershave to with that. He is a Christmas baby too, so I got him a handmade leather sling for the rifle his grandfather gave him last year. I think he will love it! I also want to pick up some lingerie that he would like, but I have to watch my budget. We are having a small get together with some of our friends and their husbands before Christmas weekend. Last week went pretty well! -I made my guy a delicious meal each night. It has been a real struggle for us to compromise on the best way to handle my commute with my desire to make dinner. Turns out, there was no need to compromise! -I got a lot of those pesky little tasks out of the way, the ones that aren't hard or particularly time consuming, but annoying to do.
