How badly some people treat their SOs! I can't even.

mini RAAAAAAANT.

My coworker about her boyfriend (who she complains constantly is not proposing to her after 3 years of dating):

I showed her a funny text from my SO

Her: J is being an ass right now

Me: raises eyebrows

Her: "Well he said he was going to stop by his dad's, and I said 'please don't' because, you know, his dad is such a bad influence on him"

(I know no such thing but I do know he was raised JH so that could very well be true)

Her: "Anyway he texts back 'yes of course of course' as a total 'fuck you' to me"

Me: furrows brow

Her: "THEN he texts me and asks me if I can pick up dinner from the store. I texted him back and said 'sure, what would you like?' And he responds with 'never mind I'll eat soup and salad' like - what? I just told you I'd get what you wanted."

Me: gives small nod of acknowledgement

Her: "So I just texted him back and said 'fine. I'll pick up what I'm eating from the store and you can suck it.'"

Me: gives amused shrug and turns back to computer

Like. What? I really don't know their relationship or how it is with his dad so frankly I have no judgment there other than perhaps how it was handled. But I don't know about you ladies, but I know next time I'm frustrated with my SO I shall be telling him to "suck it" with my hand out waiting for my ring.

Akslslshagvwbskh. (this is how I feel).

Side note, when women complain about their SOs like that? How do you respond?

My go-to's tend to be one of two. Either they are telling me a story (like this instance) and I usually just say what they want to hear ("oh no he di'in't", "well then", etc). I don't care to go all 'holier than thou' when they thought they were just bonding about it. But, if they ask my advice, I drop RP truth on their head..like.."hey you asked, take it or leave it".

TL;DR grr.
