I picked one up for a while to browse current fashions. It wasn't a very efficient tools, but it was the best around at the time. And on occasion they do have a decent article on men's health. But pretty much everything else is fluff, bullshit and self promoted self importance. The internet has pretty much outdone them now.

Well if you are crushing on them and can't get over it, it probably isn't the best of ideas. You can find someone attractive but not crush on them. But beyond that, how do you maintain friendships with guys? It is pretty much the same thing. You don't have to make friends of everyone, but you can be friendly. In terms of who you make friends with will depend on who you enjoy spending time with. They also act as social proof. I know I have discussed much of this from a utilitarian point of view, …

Sure. You can do that. But I think you may be potentially missing out on the value of having attractive women who are friends that can play the role of a wing woman or vouch for you.

Careful. This may be satire. Poe's law and all.

Agreed. We can't reach out to the guy, so we are looking out after the innocent girlfriend redditor who got screwed over in this situation and her interests.

...can't the boyfriend and the psycho both be assholes? The only innocent party I see here is the redditor girlfriend.

I wish there was a seddit subreddit for people like me. So start one.

Are there any private all girl schools in your area? Start going to their mixers & dances. They probably need guys for theatre too. Once you make friends with one or two, start going to some of their sporting events. You will be in high demand.

So later that night, I ask her if she lkes me less. more. or the same...and she tells me she likes me less but doesn't explain why!!?? ... SO WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?? SHOULD I JUST RESPECT HER HONESTY OR STOP PLAYING HER MIND GAMES?? Sounds to me that you are playing mind games. Don't ask questions like that and not expect a flippant response.

Go to somewhere in Thailand where people aren't dirt poor and you won't find the same thing. Agreed. I went on a trip with Intrepid Travel via one of their more adventurous packages. If you are mixing with all of the normal people & not in the heavily touristed areas, it isn't like that. Plus it was a blast.

It is difficult because so many women yell at men for how horrible they are if they hit on a waitress because they are on their job and they have no way to escape your creepy advances. Plus, there is typically a lot of flirty friendly talk anyway that we know means nothing. To get past these barriers, you will have to use a literal 2x4 to let him know that you are both interested and it is OK for him to try and pick you up. A couple of ideas. Leave your phone number on a receipt. If he isn't int…

I have a partial answer. I once had a girlfriend who had complained that her last boyfriend broke up with her in the middle of a nice restaurant. And how that was the worst thing possible to ever do to a person and how she had no where to go and she couldn't cry etc. etc. She made me promise that if I ever broke up with her it wouldn't be in a restaurant. Fast forward about a year. We are on vacation for a week in Chicago. We are sitting down at a nice Turkish restaurant enjoying the foods, havi…

Not everything but I'll toss out some stuff that falls in the Oneitis category. Pining away for someone who doesn't reciprocate your feelings. Letting someone treat you like shit because you are in love with them. Edit: Going to extremes (large travel distances, or huge outlays of money) in the hopes of hooking up with a specific person. Pinning all of your hopes & dreams on one girl that you just met but have not established any kind of a reciprocal relationship with.

Eventually I got too weirded out by the whole conversation that was going nowhere and ended it. Well if she weirder you out I don't see a real loss there. Obviously the girl was shy, so she needed you to initiate everything in order for her not to have appeared to have instigated anything. Now if for some reason you wanted to try and open her up to make her more comfortable, a change of scenery might have been useful. It changes the context from "I'm chatting with a boy" to something else and mi…

Fresh profile attracts more attention just like a new house on the market. There will be a rush of initial interest that will dry up.

I think you are making too much of this. He is a teen. They are known to make errors in judgement. Honestly it is society that is insane when it comes to personal pics like that. And the girl asked for it too. OK. On to the more practical side. First off the girl needs to erase the photo & overwrite the memory on her phone so that photo is no longer an issue. 2nd off, he needs to drop the idea of sneaking into her home and focus on plans to meet her elsewhere for romantic time. And as far as "on…

I know you are trying to be flippant, but trans women on cycled hormone doses do experience monthly periods with all the same effects, aside from bleeding. So you don't need tampons for your special type of periods.

I think you are getting too hung up on the words "man" and "woman" to be able to make decent arguments. Clearly a transman was born with the biological sex of female. Otherwise a transman wouldn't feel the need to make any change. Read this wikipedia article on Gender Identity Disorder, https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Gender_identity_disorder I think it will help you to understand where they are coming from and what words can be used to create a clear distinction between biologica…

The word cisgender was made up by a transexual on usenet group because she didn't like the sound of the existing term 'gender normative'. https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Cisgender#Internet_use

"Female inmates locked up for non-violent offenses get out after serving just 20 percent of the sentence" Honestly that does not mean much unless what percentage of women get out after serving 20% of their time, how that compares to men, what the information is on the rate on repeat offenders and other offenses and the type of offense.

More at CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/04/14/north.carolina.lacrosse.accuser/index.html?hpt=T2 The lesson to this story is do a few quick google searches and check the county court records on people you are dating. There could be huge red flags about who to avoid.

For example some states like Arizona(go figure) don't allow protective orders for battered same sex relationships. I think that is incredibly sad, but off topic. This is a mens' rights reddit. Not lesbian rights. While I do think the subject is important to address we need to keep focus here. We can discuss subjects like this over at the glbt reddit. And it's probably best to not do it with an accusatory finger like all lesbians are bad. We as men get enough of that shit as it is. Lesbians don't…

Do yourself a favor. Read up and carry a copy of the policy for using those rooms. http://infoguides.gmu.edu/ffxstudyrms If you want to use those rooms legitimately, get a buddy to share the room with. THEN you will be a group and have a full claim to the room. Also, you don't have to worry about camping out and watching your stuff if you hit the bathroom.

That would have been nice. But I think the police's objects are a little more simplistic. They really don't care about what is fair, especially when it comes to two students bickering over a study room. They aren't there to enforce library policy. All they care about is separating the two parties in dispute so that there are no further altercations. The more that guy continued to escalate and obsess about the situation, the more restrictions the police put on his access to the library. Had he be…

According to the library policies, neither one of them should have been using the study rooms. They are for groups. Also, you can't hold a room by leaving your shit there. http://infoguides.gmu.edu/ffxstudyrms Occupancy Two or more people constitute a group. Only one group can occupy a room at a time. An individual should use a study carrel / study space elsewhere in the Library. An individual must vacate the room if/when requested by a group of two or more. An individual cannot “hold” the room …
