First, I think women's non negotiables are fairly negotiable if the man is desirable. And all those checklists of standards and nice to haves are highly negotiable, they're Internet bluster. My own non negotiables for a man shortly before I met my husband were: -I want to have sex with him -He's open to marriage and kids -He has a respectable job that's compatible with family life My husband was actually in the "not sure about kids" camp when we met...and I was so attracted and in love that I de…

I've always been on the slimmer side, but after having kids ( 3 kids in my 30s, at that) I actually found it easier than ever to stay thin. Somehow my hunger cues changed post kids/breastfeeding in my favor. I enjoy a good round of fat shaming as much as anyone in these communities, but to be honest, I'm slim because it's very easy for me and not due to any incredible self-discipline. -I also don't like eating when I'm under stress (e.g .I run events at work and don't really eat on days there's …

Haha! No offense meant. I myself ended up in the red pill because as a young woman I was frankly really weird and unsuccessful romantically. I'm much better now, though! I took advice from red pill men and it led to both a disasterously unhappy relationship and later to my very happy marriage. The red pill is true and wise(ish) but can create lifelong anger/despair. I have real mixed feelings about this stuff.

-As others said, go offline, I don't think any red pill spaces are good for young women or women who've had bad experiences with men, even RPW. I do think online forums make gender relations worse. The genders know way too much about each other. -Stop thinking too much, people on these forums tend to be highly neurotic and introverted..they think and write too much and do too little. -Embrace the "bad" traits to an extent. There's no masculinity without some toxicity. Every good male trait comes…

It is for me, too. I just don't think this is the default state of ltrs or marriage.

Passion and excitement are incompatible with long term relationships. I mean, yes, it's certainly possible to have them through some combo of mutual effort, luck and a temperament that leans to finding joy in the mundane, but happiness is not a default baseline state.

I have three kids with a great man and it is all ultimately worth it, I love my life. However, I can see how it could go wrong if the man is lacking or pregnancy/kids/family life are unusually difficult. Before kids I leaned anti-feminist, but after kids I'm more sympathetic to feminism and ambiguity toward motherhood. With each child, I also became less sentimental about children. One more kid and I'd downright become a feminist and an antinatalist, lol! But, don't worry, I'm done at 3.

Funny, my husband and I have the exact same dynamic when we travel. It feels very natural and easy for me because I don't really want to go anywhere or to plan trips, while he does. I'm not super invested in the trips, so when it works well I'm extra happy and if not doesn't, it's on his side of the street. I'll be honest, it's very easy to follow him when it comes to things I don't fully understand or want to do. In our relationship, that includes travel and anything technical or house related.…

I haven't followed her since she was banned from IG, but she struck me as a deeply unfeminine and dominant woman. She unironically would shine as a corporate boss babe, or a trauma nurse or an atheltic director or something. Or even a soccer mom sahm who's head of every PTA, booster club and fundraising committee in town. She was born to lead and shout. Too bad she wasting her potential on merely arguing with weirdos online. Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if she were gay ( like a Camille Paglia, …

In addition to u/chamomilescloud's excellent comments , I'm going to recommend reading this classic rpw post on dominance level in relationships. https://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/s/XIqh70xDkw I'm not sure how much experience you have with men, but the article notes that very dominant man can be a bad long-term match for soft feminine women. I think a lot of women actually want a low-medium dominant men, and too much dominance feels scary, controlling and harsh, especially to soft women (tho…

My husband and I are very well suited to each other, we have an unusually happy marriage, and I'm attuned to his preferences and quirks. Some typical red pill strategies are on autopilot for me...strategic stfu, bringing him my problem, borrowing his brain, sex, peace, agreeableness, etc. But I'll be honest, I'm not quite the red pill eager beaver that I was when we met 15 years ago. I've sometimes felt that that my husband was taking advantage of my soft nature...and he's a good man who cares a…

14 years married this year and I'm content...and happy? Like, there's an underlying happiness that my husband and family are the best choices I could have made. There's plenty of frustration and all the usual that comes with kids and everyday life and on a daily level I'm content...but beneath that I'm happy. Not dizzy sparkling happy, but a deeply satisfied kind of happy. I actually do think that my happy contentment is very different than contentment I would have felt had stayed with the guy I…

Yeah, broadly speaking, I think that's right. Every random romance novel I've ever picked up has a virgin female main character and a highly experienced man. OP notes that male desire for purity/morality is a revelation, and it is when explicitly stated like in the OP, but I also think that women are often subconsciously aware of it.
/r/RedPillWomen31/05/26 10:59 PM

Well, I agree that women like dominance...but I think that traits that lend themselves to dominance can cross over to badness easily enough (assertiveness, confidence, aggression, risk-taking, physicality, etc.). And some women just find bad men arousing. 🤷 And by bad I mean classic bad boys. Either way, as the OP argues, I think both good and bad men want women who are morally better than they are.

You can estimate how much a guy makes just by knowing what he does for work, can't you? Why ask specifically about salary? (Which will be highly off-putting.) E.g. he tells you he's an accountant/cop/nurse/electrician, etc. You can easily gauge approx how much he makes at his level in your area. You just need to find the guys who have solid jobs.

You could write an equally infuriating companion piece for men called Women Want Us to be Worse Than Them! 😁 Worse isn't quite the correct word, it's more like "experienced" or "competent." But the idea is that the sexes find the opposite attractive in one another, and women tend to find life experience, sexual experience, and, yes, "badness" attractive in men. Men like some semblance of moral purity, women like the idea of inspiring goodness in a man who was once bad. Women see men's desire for…

Have you considered hiring a night nanny, if only for a week or so, or a few days each week? Don't make a big deal out of it, just say you've looked into it and think it'll work great. Having a stranger in the house caring for his wife and child might encourage him to help out.

When I was dating, I was uneasy about a man paying. It left me with a sense of debt. I think spending money is always a covert contract, and some kind of repayment is expected. This doesn't mean sex (although I've seen enough guys online calculating minimum required $$ per notch...), but could mean gratitude, submission, the promise of more dates. Of course if you like a guy and are happy to offer gratitude, submission, dates...great! Enjoy his generosity. But if you're unsure about him, be caut…

My question was specifically about how a man’s character is viewed when he involves his family in a voluntary process. I’m interested in thoughts on that specific dynamic rather than a debate on different cultures. It's impossible to answer this question without considering culture, isn't it? From my perspective (US Midwest middle class, secular-ish), a man actively involving his family to find a wife is likely an immigrant from an arranged marriage culture and comes with a boatload of cultural …

the only time I ever heard of this was some apparent fanfic disseminated at star trek conventions or something? shipping the male characters I first encountered m/m fan fic in Vampire Chronicles forums on usenet going back to at least '94. Most of the fan fic was M/M and there was a lot of it. Some of the younger writers (all weirdo women, obv) were really into anime and androgynous men. There are some universal phases, of course, but it also depends on where a man is in life. The 43M here who says he's now open to commitment is a different type of man than one who got married at 30 and is now knee-deep in family life. Pretty much all the men I know are married fathers in their 40s. Generally their lives revolve around family life and once the kids are in first grade or so-- youth sports (coaching, driving the kids, working to pay for it all, lol). When they're not working, they…

Yes and I'm floored by how casually $250k is dropped as a reasonable salary for a "HVM"! I'm admittedly middling middle class in a flyover state, but $250k is a fantastical salary here, like that's something an experienced lawyer or a family doc would earn. It's strange to expect the typical 19 year old girl to end up with a man like this in the near future. OP doesn't mention her social class or culture, but, for example in my culture (3rd tier white bread Midwest, lol) a "HVM" could be a firef…

Maybe you're a late bloomer? 19 is very young, some women just aren't into men until they're a little older, maybe early or even mid-20s. Late bloomers tend to have a low(er) libido, fear men, and have never experienced boy craziness in their teens. I think that quiet, studious, or very soft women fall into this group. It doesn't mean that the guys at your school are unattractive, maybe you're just not ready to be attracted. In the meantime, you could still put yourself out there as time allows …

Basically I was pointing out the differences of what people say on the internet that a successful man wants and what they’re actually going for. Don't take advice on jobs/careers from red pill men online. I've been reading RP for 18 years now, and RP men's career/social class takes are consistently off base. If there's a specific group of men you like (let's say middle class professionals), look at the kind of women they're seriously dating and marrying. Or ask the women who're married to these …

(for context, this is from the perspective of a middle class Midwestern millennial) Unless your job doesn't leave any time for meeting men or dating, I think you should keep doing what you're doing, save as much money as possible, and network like crazy. The money will provide a nice cushion for the many expenses of family life (in trad terms, it's your dowry) and the connections made now could help you finagle a part-time or remote role, or return on your terms when you're ready. This is a really excellent answer into the underlying dynamics of successful marriages, and shows why well-meaning marriage advice like "communicate a lot!" and "be kind" feels, to me, so flimsy and unsatisfying. Relationship graveyards are filled with couples who communicated! When you're married, the man can't take a break from the burden of performance, and the woman can't take a break from respect and admiration. Not a long break, at least. I'll add that I think luck does play a part in succ…

I think that if you liked this guy before and want to proceed further, you should just forget this highly cringe conversation ever happened and never ever refer to it again. But if you want to analyze, when he asked for a critique of his looks, was he flirty or serious? Flirting/playing is the only socially acceptable reason for his risky initial question, and either way, the way to answer it is to be playful. but for traversing stoner conversations, men are awesome. Ok, I have to ask, were you all stoned during these interactions? No judgement, but I think that intoxicants consumed in a social setting help men A LOT with mixed gender socializing. They help women loosen up too, but men are expected to approach and need more courage. I'm more tempted to blame men's issues approaching on a general decline in socializing (in favor of phones, streaming, gaming, cocooning at home) than #metoo. I'm sure #me…

So, as a meh looking woman who is happily married... Imo, getting asked out isn't really a thing and hasn't been for decades. I think some character traits might make us more in need of a higher level of dominance, to be honest. If you want a dominant man, and already have a monster of a backbone :), then you're going to need a pretty friggin' dominant man. Yep, this is one of the concepts discussed in this key rpw post about dominance levels in relationships...that dominant woman can do very well with dominant men. Yeah, I think people are really underestimating how attached some men can get to their dogs. A man's best friend and all that. I can actually imagine a scenario where the guy truly wants to see his dog, but doesn't care for the ex. That said, OP should try to sus out of either the guy or the ex are using the dog to cozy up to each other. My husband and I have this thing we call the guilt point tracker where we joke about earning points for doing more than the other person. In my own marriage, I saw that taking the step of getting married unlocked a level of protectiveness in my husband that wasn't there before. Like, when we got married he stopped giving me rides on his motorcycle. The risk was too big for a wife (but ok for a girlfriend, lol). On our honeymoon, after a few sketchy situations in Asia and a turbulent flight, he had something like a panic attack at the thought of not being able to protect me if needed because we were married now. The time for building and molding themselves into the people they want to be is mostly going to be done in their 20s. The bulk of their youthful shenanigans and indiscretions, puppy love and playful exuberance, is going to happen in their 20s. If they miss the bandwagon, they miss it. It’s the same with women. There’s few exceptions. Great point. The red pill understands the worth of youth in women but undervalues youth in men. " You can always have a baby" is the lie the blue pill tells women, …

Of course beauty is important, but... I dunno, where do you live? Is it a megapolis next door to a modeling agency? Is it online? I'm being snarky, but I live in a Midwestern suburb and see a ton of very average looking women with husbands, families, normal lives. A local city hall used to post photos of couples who got married there and it was mostly homely Midwestern women with shlubby Midwestern men. Where is is that only great beauties find love and commitment?

The way you explain the questioning is much more organic and conversational, so it makes more sense than straight up asking. I agree with Count the Bees advice about proceeding. I do think that most men would hesitate to reveal their whole sexual past when it's perceived as low SMV ( paying for sex), especially if their partner's history is more socially acceptable and speaks to a higher SMV.

You know, I remember seeing some intro post that said the one thing women on RPW had in common was wanting a male-led relationship. But I can't find this article now, so maybe I'm misremembering or it's no longer the case (mods, help!). In any case, I think most women here do want a male-led relationship, but, of course, not all women do. It depends on what you value in a man and in life.

I don't know if you've spent a lot of time reading men's red pill content, but women who have tend to lean into RMV qualities and forget or fear SMV. You're right and deserve your star, nicely articulated. Internet men are eager to get a slice of the victim pie that women have been enjoying and using feminist gotchas for support. (Which would be fine for Internet banter, but they seem to earnestly argue from a feminist viewpoint). And then there are women who support this "but men are victims too!!" and I think they have good intentions but inadvertently encourage weakness and pity.

I think the responses are going to vary by generation: GenX and older millennials will say that you get to wife status by doing wife stuff before you're married, and the younger participants will say no way!!!. I'd argue this is part of the general cultural shift toward traditionalism (a variation of it for the times, not some real-deal Tradition). I think the red pill is a social reaction against the pedestalization of women as paragons of moral and sexual virtue. It's an understanding that women's sexual nature can be dark and debased. There's a very red pilled poem by Jonathan Swift where he calls women "Such gaudy tulips raised from dung." It's like that. I learned a lot from the early manosphere-- Roissy, Roosh and Rollo Tomassi. Their stuff reflected what I observed IRL about gender dynamics. I think these guys gave men good advice t…

Here's what I would tell my daughter: don't do stuff with a guy without knowing how and why. Don't drift into bed just because he asked and you didn't know how to say no. If you have a tendency to freeze in unwanted sexual situations (like MANY, MANY...MOST young women), work on your assertiveness and dgaf attitude. Maybe avoid dating until you have a better sense of self and what you want. For some women, especially "nice," submissive women, that doesn't happen until the early 20s. The man you …

We text daily and I see her every week, but we don't hang out much and I don't enjoy myself in her company. She tends to be negative and critical of...a lot...including me. We were close when I was a child, she was thrilled to have a daughter. But I think I disappointed her because I ended up being more like my dad, personality-wise.

First, I think your OP is really interesting and is obviously inspiring a good discussion. My response is a "yes, and..." Ok, maybe a "yes, BUT..."😁 a false sense of control and I think that could backfire for them. So I think this behavior could backfire by: -Above all, making the woman look dumb and annoying in the fsm. Sure, Jan, your husband doesn't notice hot women. 🙄 -It could set the woman up for disappointment when her man does show obvious interest in other women, which you allude to -O…

Interesting! My husband was 36 when we met, never married. He'd had 4 LTRs: two that he never really expected to get serious (between ages 19-24, college) and two that were serious but ended due to compatibility/life goals (ages 26-34). With me, we went from first date to wedding day within 19 months and he escalated all stages of commitment. We didn't have the timeline talk, we didn't have the "what are we talk." I think once he hit the late 20s, he would have readily married, but the relations…

Ok, I, for one, think there's something to your observation. You're noting the dark side of submission. A woman who is by nature submissive will go along with a lot of stuff, partly because she easily bends to the appearance of authority, partly out of passivity, plus the desire to please, even to her own detriment. I don't think women always rack up n counts because they're dripping with desire for Chad McChad.Just as often, they drift into bed without even wanting to because male persistence p…

I think a lot of men are pretty okay with a transactional relationship as long as they feel they're getting value in return (in a way that matters to them). The problem is not transaction , it's a woman not holding up her end of the deal in the transaction. This woman is promising to give men what they generally say they want, so the ad is not necessarily a turnoff. RIP this woman's inbox in 2014! Also, it's just a fun punchy ad. There are a lot of trad leaning men in the red pill who highly encourage modest wifely qualities. They're not wrong, but they're giving very incomplete advice. If you're a shy, modest, low/average SMV woman who doesn't flirt, go out, socialize or dress sexy , you will get nothing from men. Zilch, zero, nada! Certainly if you're dating in secular circles, though you say it's not so different in your religious SMP either. The whore/virgin spectrum article that was just reposted his week is super i…

Interesting how many women consider their relationship to be male-led while the man considers it egalitarian! I think it's the same in my marriage. My husband said that I put on a good show as a submissive wife, but I have a strong will. I think I'm a pushover! Some reasons I'm coming up with for this: -Lots of men, even "trad" men, are reluctant to consider themselves dominant thanks to cultural conditioning. -A lot of women here are with greater betas, who are in fact less dominant and more ag…

Yep, I think this is exactly right. My husband's buddy only dates women who're really into motorcycles. I think all his gfs raced. Another buddy is a rock climber, he only dates other serious climbers. Sharing a masculine hobby is a great thing, outperforming a man is where it gets tricky. I'm sure there's a lot of nuance here, some guys might not mind a bit of competition.

May I take a guess? The second one was a little too into an inherently masculine hobby. She knew too much...she held on too loosely...she played hot and cold...like a man. One of my husband's buddies races motorcycles, and so does his girlfriend. When she was selected for a women's racing team, this guy complained that his balls shrank! And this is a very liberal, progressive guy!

This is a good addition to "what do you bring to the table" (https://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/s/IDiNtYiIs0). And in this case, I'd say what the last woman brought to the table was 1) fitting into OP's lifestyle and 2) honoring his need for escape (the motorcycle). I'd argue that escape is difficult for women to honor...more than security and status...because it takes men away from us! Sex is probably the easiest way for a woman to honor escape. I have enough charisma that I meet people in real life all the time. And I would argue, the men I connect with in passing are usually a much better fit. Second, it's an endorsement of coquetry, playful feminine flirting and charm, an undervalued tool in girl game. Finally, this is all useful advice for single women as well. I used to be on a party planning team at work. One of the women on the team was exceptionally pretty, like model/actress pretty, which is unusual in my second-tier midwest city. I think there are a couple of different ideas here: Economic 50/50: Not unreasonable to want a man to earn most of the money Relationship emotional labor/mental load: Should feel like 100/100, but in different arenas for both. I'm a woman kind of like OP and I've had mixed results with this advice. If you're talking to a man who's into you, then yeah, being interested is good. But he has to be into you! And also: men like being entertained and amused, too. The most desirable men can flip the tables and have the woman do the clown game. Marriage isn't really compatible with long-term passion. I mean, yes, it can be, but it's not by default. Marriage is about stability, raising a family. The traits required for stable family life are not the ones that lend themselves to arousal and passion--especially for women. That women are aroused by jerks is like the red pill. But if guys that take a liking to me, say they want something serious and committed, also like women like her - what is the point of the red pill? You got some good, practical advice. Let me note that what red pill men on the internet say they want is not always what they actually want (watch what they do, not what they say). There's a ton of virtue signaling, edgy roleplaying, venting, wishful thinking, etc. I don't even think that men mean to deceive when they say they want a nice quiet girl b…

Wool wool wool wool wool. I feel you, OP, I'm just like you, heat-wise. Like, it has to be at least 75 degrees in the house before I'll wear short sleeves at all. I'll do anything for love ,🎶🎶...but I won't be cold. I usually wear fleece black leggings, tight long -sleeve T shirt/top (cotton or thin wool when it's very cold) a big wool cardigan, and often wool socks. The cutesy little dresses are for the summer months.

masculine, secure, comfortable being a leader etc. The child would need to have some innate traits that can be developed and guided into masculinity, leadership, etc. Not every boy has it in him to be an "hvm," especially to women. Fathers can help teach and reinforce hard skills and soft skills, and navigate male hierarchies, which helps boys end up in a better place than they would on their own. A very fatherly part of parenthood is rough play and kind of razzing your kid, which women don't ty…

It's the feeling of intense love and idealism for a woman...some combination of possessiveness and protectiveness, putting her on a pedestal above other women (she's not like the other girls!), seeing wonderful qualities in her (that objectively she might not even have!). Feeling young, free, handsome, and powerful in her company. There's this idea that men are very rational when selecting a wife or a long-term GF, and in my experience, that is not quite true (at least for western post-sexual re…

A lot of it is about dating slightly below your league I think you're making an important point ---it's easier to get commitment from a man slightly below your league. Of course, it might not be the commitment you want.

When you entertain a simp, you enter into a covert contract he's setting up. We're always warned here against creating our own covert contacts, but you also need to be aware of contracts others are creating with you. When someone does something nice for you, there's an unspoken expectation of it being returned, somehow, someday. When a man who likes you does nice stuff for you, oh boy will he have all sorts of expectations for how you "should" pay him back. I think it takes a certain amount of r…

Well, we don't know anything about OP's guy...that said, he could be the "impure" man who's still a good match for a woman he sees as pure (scenario #3). Or he could be an impure man who's a good match for an equally impure woman, though that seems less likely from the little info she provided (scenario #2). The pure/impure stuff isn't set in stone, it really depends on the man's background, social class, social mileu, personality, his perception of himself and his woman (perception rather than …

I agree with the commenters who're advising you to tell him. I do wonder what you mean by him being very traditional and what attracted you to him. In general, I think relationships work best when the man and the woman are moral equals, with the woman being slightly more equal. There's a kind of formula: --Man and woman are both equally "pure": Fine --Man and woman both have a past: Can be fine if the past is more or less equal and both bid it goodbye and decide to sin no more together, for each…

This is so sad. I'm so sorry. I was in a relationship with a man who gave me the ick, and the hard part was just doing it. Well, there was that too! Yeah, I didn't want foreplay or to talk about it or "work" on it. When there's no attraction, or worse, repulsion, all this stuff is a burden, not a solution. It was my choice to be in that relationship, and I could make a very rational case for being and staying in it. I was actually reading a lot of red pill at the time and genuinely thought I was…

This isn't "normal" for most women, but I think what you describe is not at all uncommon for a certain type of woman. Common traits are shyness, social anxiety, social awkwardness, being on the spectrum, no friends, weird family life, childhood or adolescent trauma, bookishness, excessive intellectualism, mental illness, low SMV, lack of interest in typical female hobbies (fashion, makeup, all things girly, etc ). So prettier women tend to be more interested in grooming, fashion, fitness, style, and all the rituals that go along (like looking at yourself in the mirror). meanness that is discussed is more associated with, like you said, the pick me behavior or the progressive feminist behavior, and not as much as a behavior of the average joe women, who don't fit either of those groups. it’s kind of nice to being able to present yourself as a girl? Does that make sense? It does to me. Young women at their peak want to be admired for their beauty and femininity. Obviously, now, there are countless opportunities online to get attention from men, but it's not like women didn't seek attention in the past. A woman in a relationship will seek that attention from her man (him making her feel sexy, pretty, feminine), and if her man doesn't do it, she'll look for validation elsewhere. (…

I think your comments are interesting, but they're worded in a kinda snarky way. You're pointing out that this is a battle of sexual imperatives: the man's imperative to pursue his mission (which may include family life, but on his timeline) vs the feminine imperative to follow her biological clock. You see this when women come in here and say "I love him, he's amazing, he's the love of my life, but he doesn't want family life on my timeline (or he wants me to help out financially), so is this a…

I would agree with the subject line if it said: "Western, secular, post-sexual revolution men don't like high n counts in women but ultimately don't care that much as long as the woman in question satisfies a man sexually and emotionally and her count isn't above his personal 'woah, too slutty!' threshold." Agreed, though I'm okay with the frankness of FDS. If women want a rich guy to provide, go ahead and say so, go get him and settle for nothing less! I don't like FDS stuff under the cover of tradition, moral righteousness and virtue. isn't the whole premise of an ALPHA man to provide and protect? Leaving aside the issue of provision, for years, in men's red pill circles, alpha meant a high SMV man. I highly recommend you read this post about relationship power dynamics: https://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/s/zU73Rouzvi. It's the most important essay on all of RPW, seriously. You come off as a dominant go-getter woman. People are getting derailed by the issue of tech hiring, but that's not the point. The point is that you're hustling and planning for the future and he is not, or not enough in your eyes (I'm not even addressing the mental health issue, the giant elephant in the room that mo…

Thanks! I think people are being hard on OP. She's unmarried, she's vetting, and she wants an ambitious man who can afford a sahm. If that's not what her man can provide in the near future, she can leave or modify her life goals to accommodate his. What else is there to do? She says this man is the love of her life, so I'm trying to get at what inspires her love. It must be something besides career ambition and is that something enough? It's rough trying to figure this out at 21 and it's a major…

He's the love of my life, I'd rather try with him OP, does this guy fulfill your hypergamy in other ways (besides career potential)? Does he do things you find sexy, charming, charismatic, interesting ? He may or may not become ambitious and financially successful, and if not, you need to find something else to really admire in him. That may mean never becoming a full-time sahm. Is the sahm requirement an absolute must? There's a woman on the purple pill debate sub who works in a high-paying cor…

I think plenty of women who try OF are driven by validation and fame-seeking...like pursuing a career in entertainment, pay is low and competition is fierce, but if you make it... Anyway, a lot of the outrage over OF is rooted in that nice, middle-class girls from normal families can do it with little skin in the game (creators don't even need to touch a man, ever!). These women are in the dating pool for nice middle-class men. If it was done only by underclass women from chaotic backgrounds peo…

That's young for a guy, and maybe they wanted to avoid escalating commitment. Hard to say without a lot more detail on each relationship and the arguments that you allude to. Also, red pillers tend to exaggerate the importance of positive traits that you list. I think a lot of younger guys err on the side of having fun with a girlfriend above stable wifely qualities. Not saying that you weren't fun, but you focus on qualities like agreeability and niceness.

Now, that I am re-entering the dating world, all of the conflicting dating advice is confusing me. It's hard to answer your question without context about your background and what you're looking for. What's your age and location/social mileu? What kind of a relationship are you looking for and what do you want in a man? How do you plan to meet someone (online dating, social circles, etc.)?

I read your update and I think the problem goes beyond typical attraction/male libido issues. I'm sorry you're struggling, you're in a tough place. I'd recommend making a separate thread about how to get out of your situation, since you're unmarried with no income/job/family/schooling (not sure about the last one--did you finish your degree? And are there any plans to marry? ). If you're living in Canada, there's the question of immigration laws.

It makes me feel super unwanted and just too young for this, as much as I love him and want to be with him. feel like I just found out that most long term relationships don’t actually have super frequent sex and I feel betrayed For a LTR where you spend a lot of time together, 3-4 times a week a pretty decent amount of sex. I know it's not enough for you, but I don't think frequency is at all unusual. A couple of things here: -The intense focus on sex from the red pill comes from undersexed men …

None of this is wrong, but in the comments there's some back and forth over dominant vs domineering vs leader....and I think there's not a dominant man (or leader) in the world who's also not at least occasionally domineering. That's just a side effect of a dominant leader personality. Most desirable traits come with a downside, and that is certainly true of traits as potent as male dominance and leadership. Even with conservative backlash, I don’t think the typical gen-z man is all too enthusiastic for marriage. If anything, they are more likely to fall victim to the male loneliness epidemic as they do not have the skills to find, attract, or keep a mate. I agree here. Conservative isn't quite the right word for the pill backlash (red pill, black pill, incels, whatever). It's more like dissatisfaction with all of modernity, including, of course, feminism and certainly modern marriage.

Feeling ready for marriage really depends on location/social class/social mileu, regardless of how much man is into a woman. I don't know any men from my generation (old millennial/young genx) who proposed at 19. In my middle class mid-America, the youngest married men I know were 23-24 and they married their high school or college girlfriends. These were 4-year LTRs and the men finished college and got their first professional jobs before they proposed. Edit: I think there's a generational gap …

None of the things you listed are going to matter if his light isn’t on I'd refine this to: these things don't matter if he's not that into you and not open marriage. The former is far more damning--I see women here all the time wasting their best girl game on indifferent men. The latter also isn't great, but a guy whose light isn't on at 21 might be ready by his late 20s. It's not unusual to marry a college boyfriend of 4-5 years (of course, it doesn't help if a woman wants marriage ASAP).

knew secular people who used lingo like "courtship not dating" I'm familiar with the term, but I associate it with evangelicals and Christian "fundies." Interesting! I was a teenager in the late 90s, middle-class Midwest, secular, mainstream, and sexual purity until marriage just didn't seem like a thing. People may have refrained from sex because they were afraid of pregnancy, STDs, or a (temporary) hit to their reputation, but my impression was that no one was prioritizing purity or waiting for marriage, just for college or until they had a solid GF/bf. When I was in my 20s and early 30s, both guys and girls in NYC valued sexual purity. In NYC?? In 2010? I find this so baffling. Was this in specific religious/traditional/immigrant communities? Were these...you know, attractive and reasonably normal people? The three date rule goes back to at least the late 80s, and I think it was intended as a "conservative" measure to give women a few dates to get to know a guy.

When my husband used to travel, we ended up hiring a "mother's helper" type babysitter who'd stay with me and the kids for the whole weekend. Having another set of hands to help with the kids and entertain them was beyond helpful. Or my mom or dad would stay over, but that came with family drama. If you can put any money toward a sitter, even for a half day or a few hours, do it. Since you'll be around, you could hire someone young and inexperienced who wants to start nannying.

Yes. I don't mean to sound abrupt. I'm a quiet, shy woman who didn't talk a lot and it was the bane of my existence for years. Kids at school said it was like someone pressed the "mute" button on me. I think you could make the argument that modern western marriage is emasculating to men because women no longer have to meet social/religious duties within marriage (premarital chastity, sex, unassailable fidelity, obedience to the husband, etc ), plus they can initiate divorce, so the man is inherently in the woman's frame. In traditional marriage, women do have the duties listed above and divorce is highly taboo, so the man has the upper hand. Also, in traditional setups, men can still have se…

Well, it was a great experience thanks to him. He kept up morale, kept me going, kept his sense of humor when we were jumping into tubs of ice water in pretty chilly weather. I was happy to follow his lead, even when I wanted the damn thing to be over. A mud run seems like a silly test of dealing with tough circumstances, but in lieu o…

I took a crack at this but it's such a big question that I hardly know where to start! LOL! I recommend reading the sidebar, specifically on LTRs. In regards to family life, I do think that whatever issues you have in your relationship before kids will likely get worse after kids. Whatever personality flaws each of you has will be magnified. You have to ask yourself how you deal with stress, physical discomfort, and frustration--because kids will cause all three. How does your partner deal with …

communicating your desires is much more powerful than nagging or demanding I agree that saying "he should" is useless advice. Nagging and demanding are a-no go. But I'm still going to find something to be difficult about, the bit about communication. 😁 I think communication works best when it's about practical matters. Chores are a good example. What to get at the store (send a very, very specific list), which school to pick for the kids, where to go for vacation, where to spend Christmas, which…

I suspect that men who can successfully pull off one-sided open relationships don't talk a ton about their intentions. They just do it, and have so much status/looks/game that their women implicitly accept this arrangement--a don't ask, don't tell deal.

Unfortunately, I think your assessment is the most accurate one in this thread. Hurts because as much as we want to be loved for our hearts, we want our men to desire us as animals Being sexually desired by a desirable man (here, OP's husband) is of existential importance to a woman. Inner beauty is great after a woman feels assured that she's pretty. This situation is one of those minor tragedies of life. I think OP can accept the situation for what it is, let the sting fade with time, let it g…

For young girls, the SMV does the heavy lifting, compatibility takes care of most of the rest, a little bit of right place/right time, and a teeny tiny amount of vetting can prevent a total disaster. Young men don't really care about RMV. They are mostly banking on maturing together and forgive a lot of shit. The men that start asking "what does she bring to the table" are older, and have been burnt. But a guys not going to be asking or even thinking what his first gf brings to the table. Bam! I…

I'll be real. It's very hard to have high RMV at the age of 20. Most of the desirable inner traits of a woman develop after her peak SMV has passed. This is the most interesting insight I've read here in a while! I agree with you, it's just so jarring to see in a place where RMV is heavily emphasized. I'd say overemphasized but I'm being difficult now. I'd love a longer post on this topic.

As a lifelong quiet woman who doesn't have many friends, I'll say the biggest problem with being a homebody when you're young is losing out on building social circles and meeting men. Youth/university years is the time to do this, don't miss out. If you do meet a guy, a lot of quieter, homebody men definitely won't mind. But these might be the guys who like playing video games for hours or who never want to leave the house, especially as they get older. Make sure you are okay with that. More act…

I also think he liked introducing the quiet little me to things like riding a motorcycle, training his difficult dog, skating, etc. Adding a dash of danger to my life! In fact I'm now 40 (! 😱) and still enjoying his affection and life past the wall, lol. Btw, I mentioned your "downsides" not because they're all necessarily downsides for men in general, but because if this guy dates you, maybe he's not quite as red pill as he says or thinks he is. You can read the wiki for this sub and see if it resonates with you. I’ve always considered myself to be liberal, fiercely independent, and a feminist. What’s a normal amount of time to spend? I think for us it’s usually ~5 minutes. Are you talking about foreplay? If so, five minutes is very short before you proceed to penetration. I doubt there's a woman in the world who can get fully aroused and feel the tingles in 5 minutes. You could focus on foreplay without the intention of orgasm just because kissing/touching feels good. College degrees are a class marker that correlates with other class markers, and while men might not care about salary or a career, they care about class markers. I don't think they consciously look for class markers because everything a woman does is a class marker that comprises her sexual persona, whether she knows it or not: her clothes, media she consumes, food she likes, her hobbies, her family, etc. And while men certainly marry down, there's a threshold to how low a man will go. A lot of women here are very young and childless, and young people who don't yet have children judge their parents very harshly. You see this all over reddit, all the "just no" forums. For every truly terrible parent, there's four that fail in very banal, ordinary ways but are seen as monsters by the grown child. How do you stay with a guy with these types of double standards? It just seems hypocritical to OP, how old are you, behave you ever been in love? I think the simplest answer to your question is that when a woman is in love--by which I mean feeling an intense emotional and sexual connection to a man and putting him on a pedestal above others--she does not care. Yeah, the provider above all thing disturbs me, but I think it may be part of a larger cultural shift away from the ideals of the western sexual revolution--the ideal of sexual pleasure above all, all you need is love (not provision), plus the obnoxious push for female careerism. I agree, the social circle wall is more harsh for both men and women than the SMV wall. The skill of forming a social circle should begin to develop at ages 4-5, and then age 13-25 is the key time go make friends, go out, create social connections, etc. (I'd maybe even set the cutoff at ages 22-23.) Anyone who doesn't do this will struggle to catch up.

It's not like being unattractive guarantees a wholesome and pleasant life. However, your post is really pining fo…

Lol, I've been considering pitching an article called "Your guide to normiemaxxing" to the mods. Step one for young women would be to cut yourself off from male RP content for a long while, additional steps are looking cute, fitting into an fsm and having a social circle. I don't mean this as snark--I think this is the path to middle-class marriage and family life for women in mainstream culture. I failed to do all this when I was young so you don't want to learn from me, but maybe someone else …

You have to decide whether you want to err on the side of attraction or stability/provision, unfortunately relatively few men have a good supply of both. I was in a relationship where I erred in the side of stability/provision and felt no attraction to the guy, although on paper he was quite perfect. I also had a lot of doubts when I ended that relationship. Then I decided to err on the side of attraction, and it was the right choice for me. My husband doesn't make a lot of money (works hard and…

When I was 7 or 8, I asked my dad if I was pretty and he said, "You're perfectly average." As a teenager, my mom would look me up and down and say, "You're not a beauty, but you're pleasant looking, you can get a boyfriend." Well, it turned out that my blunt Soviet immigrant parents were...correct! I know I'm pretty meh looking, probably a 4. Common. Stay off mom forums and daddit, lol. But there's stuff to consider like, how attracted were the partners to each other pre-kids? How much sex did they have? How motivated are they to maintain their looks and sex life? Women tend to get fat and get too into the mom role. Men grow a gut, get lazy, go beta. How easy/difficult was the pregnancy and recovery? Is she breastfeeding (often suppresses the sex drive). What other new life stresses are there? Kids are unpredictable. If your baby end…

I think women who are by nature conservative, inhibited, religious or family-minded are more likely to vet men for beta/comfort/provider traits and put sexual desire on the back burner. These women are eager to opt out of the chaotic, frightening sexual marketplace and once a man who's "good on paper" comes along, they'll stick with him instead of searching for one who's also sexually exciting. A lot of these women tend to be on the homely side, awkward, shy, "nice." I don't think most dead bedr…

Edit: there is something wrong with culture that tells women these experiences aren’t normal and they must be asexual. I agree with your whole response. Yeah, for some reason people overlook the fear/repulsion some young women experience around sex and male sexuality. For a certain type of young woman--shy, inhibited, self-conscious, conservative, neurotic, socially awkward, maybe not very attractive--sex and men are really terrifying. I've known women who were essentially ignored by the opposite sex but they saw themselves as defective rather than the uninterested men. Yeah, that was me in my teens and early 20s. This is the period when I was most conservative and tradition-minded. It certainly didn't lead me to radical feminism, really the opposite.

Emotional labor is secretarial/administrative tasks in the household and family life. Women generally take on this role when they have kids. Plenty of liberal-leaning men like that. I also think a lot of traditional ideals kick in for men after they get married and have kids. Most TRP'ers are themselves part of the low social class and can't understand higher social classes. I think they're generally middle class, not lower middle or upper middle, just solidly middle. You know what, OP, I agree. "You can always have a baby" is the lie blue pill tells women, "You can always become Chad" is the lie red pill tells men. There's a time for everything, and the time to prepare for future romantic success should start long before puberty through socialization, sports, etc. The time to leverage that success is in one's youth. Neither sex can appreciate each other's work if they're not working side by side, day in and day out. This is the traditional way--running a farm or a business together. pretend to support liberal left wing ideas because they hope to get laid, and don’t have to be responsible for any consequences. I see this idea a lot in red pill circles, but I think it has to be a myth. While this OP is exaggerated, I actually agree that preparation for a successful romantic life should start very early through participation in sports , social activities that include the opposite sex and informal socializing with friends. This is really a key function of K4-12 for middle class kids, education itself is often secondary. People who miss out on these activities or refuse to participate for some reason (shy, depressed, anxious, too busy, etc. ) will have to work hard to catch up.

I hate the thought of putting a restriction/limit on love but is there a line that should be placed? In a modem middle-class western relationship, I think the following are strictly for marriage: having children, following your SO if he moves, quitting your job/becoming a sahm, buying a house, combining finances, accommodating his family, caring for him through a serious lifelong illness or condition (though plenty of people will say you should do the last for a bf). Most everything else is fair…

I was lucky to have easy pregnancies and recoveries, and we had a steady sex life throughout. The trickiest part is finding time and just being tired. Two of our kids are horrible sleepers and would stay up until midnight if we let them. Also, since I was pregnant and breastfeeding for 8 or 9 years straight, I didn't have a strong sex drive. I still enjoyed it and sometimes initiated because it's important to me to be the couple that has sex, but it wasn't something that was really on my mind. W…

I love Fussel's Class, have an upvote! People here tend to forget that social class is far, far more than money. All of your preferences and tastes in media, food, education, politics, etc. determine social class and can play a bigger role than money itself. Even with the supermodel example--it depends on what kind of model! Is she from a middle class family and did ballet prior to a career in high-fashion modeling? That's a wife for an "upper" class successful man. Or is she from a working clas…

I don't assert myself enough... Just because I am shy and silent. I don't know what this guy's problem is and his comments as you describe them are inappropriate, but being shy and silent at work is not a good thing. You don't want to come off like an aggressive boss babe, but coworkers should first think of you as "competent," "helpful," and "friendly," not "submissive." Sometimes I wonder if the paradigm of choosing your own mate is really the best choice for long term happiness. I suspect that the definitions of "love" and "happiness" in an arranged marriage culture vs mainstream western post-sexual revolution culture are so different that they can't possibly be compared. They are alien to each other. Completely different conception of what these terms ought to mean to an individual and a family. Apples and oranges. We dont choose our families, and yet we love…

I don't think you can really "make sure" of anything with kids. Kids aren't little blank slates that you can paint any color you wish. Their natural temperament and inclinations matter a lot. Sometimes I look at my daughter and wonder how she could possibly be my child because she acts and looks nothing like me. That said, I do think my sons have a good start because they're being raised in a solid middle-class family where they can see an example of a happy marriage and satisfying family life d…

This isn't really about whether what he says is correct or not, it's that he's saying this to you, his woman, which shows either social cluelessness or immaturity, or both. It's like if I said to my husband, "Hey babe, just so you know, I'm not yours, it's just your turn. I can never love you like you want to be loved. Women wanted men for practical reasons and men wanted women for practical reasons Yeah. I highly recommend the book Marriage: A History by Stephanie Coontz for anyone interested in an overview of Western marriage. I'm sure Coontz is some sort of an academic Marxist feminist boogey woman, but she is remarkably clear-eyed in describing marriage, historically, as above all a practical matter for making family alliances, acquiring useful relatives and getting work done. Marriage wasn't about oppress…

You're very eager to drop your standards, so I would first recommend lowering them for the height, hair and age requirements (where you're clinging to them the most!) Is it possible for an adult who is not under duress to have sex they do not want to? Yeah, young inexperienced women do it all the time. Who gets to tell women that they didn't really want to have sex with the men they had sex with? It's the kind of sex that afterwards leads the woman to think: "That sucked, he sucked, and I knew that he'd suck and I didn't even really feel like it, why did I even do that??" What would you say? What honest advice would you give? Mourn your lack of sexual and romantic success and come to accept it as one of those inevitable tragedies of the human condition. To me, these words center mostly around a woman's look/style/demeanor. If a woman looks older, dresses in a matronly way and has a certain gravity, I wouldn't ever think of her as a girl. For me, I guess I started feeling more like "woman," when I had kids in 30s. Weird to think of yourself as a "girl" with multiple children. I can tell you that in my second-tier city in the Midwest, plenty of average-looking, middle class women get married, have children, and become sahms. A lot of the young families I see around me look like the ones profiled here: http://julia-transition.blogspot.com/2014/01/moms-make-it-work-guest-blogging-series.html?m=1 As always, being as close to normal-attractive (g…

Yes. I suspect the wall for making friends is around 23-24, and it's a harsher wall than the sexual one. It's so important to make friends and find a social circle prior to your mid-to-early 20s. Failure to do so can be impossible to recover from, especially for men.

Well, the thing about conservatives in these spaces (especially the men) is that they still want the pleasures promised by the sexual revolution, they just want them in marriage. 😄 But, yeah, I also lean weirdo, especially after being in a relationship that was perfect on paper (commitment, long vetting period before sex), but had zero sexual spark for me. My most successful relationship was the one where I had sex on the third date and sex in public on the fourth, and that's the man I married 2…

The reason why “sex on the third date” became such a cultural phenomenon was because BOTH genders wanted it. The women wanted it because the feminists convinced them that sexual liberation is a good thing that would benefit them. The men wanted it because it meant they could get sex from the gatekeepers of sex MUCH sooner than they ever had to before, and it was basically the bargain of the millennia for them. Both sides encouraged it and it took over like wildfire. I think this is right. I'd sa…

I remember reading/hearing about the third date rule when I was a teenager in the 90s. I suspect it originated from the dating culture of the 80s, as a way to create some sexual restraint, lol (as the article below suggests). See: https://www.insidehook.com/article/sex-and-dating/third-date-rule-back-but-did-ever-get-thing-begin Edit: I have a book by Dianne Brill, an NYC "it girl" in the 80s, where she recommends third-date sex as the sensible approach for women. I think that for women dating in the mainstream western smp, what really matters is: -Looking as good as possible -Having a social/friend circle that puts you among the kind of men you want to marry -And being fun (making a man feel good when he's around you, sexual enthusiasm and just not being bitchy) I think this sub tends overestimate the importance cooking, cleaning, feminine hobbies, overt submission and n-counts. And there's also a matter of age and timelines. My husband and I went from f…

I think a woman's cooking/cleaning skills are very overhyped and lots of young guys don't really care about this stuff until they're much older. While all men will appreciate a meal or treat, most will be just as happy with cookies made out of refrigerated dough as with some recipe a woman spent months perfecting (unless you're dating the next Anthony Bourdain or J Kenji Alt-Lopez or something). I'm skeptical that there's a "wholesome" dating market that's marriage minded and a slutty dating mar…

I think it's worth doing whatever you can afford, 23 is prime time to get a boyfriend. (I don't know anything about makeup, but almost all my clothes are from TJ Maxx and thrift stores, and I've been told on occasion that I have good style! )

Looking back on it, I think what stopped me from achieving my "ideal" timeline is not doing anything to enhance my looks (I could have used a bit of Vindicta in my early 20s) and being so shy and socially anxious that I failed to develop a friend/social circle where I could meet guys. So that's my advice for young women: look cute and get out of the house with friends.

I was a shy teenager and who wanted to get married right off the bat and hated the idea of dating and hookups. I met my first boyfriend at 21-24. We were briefly engaged but it became clear that we had different values and goals in life. Dated my next boyfriend 25-28. We were perfect on paper. Same goals, same cultural background, everything. It's not so much a matter of different values (though values are a part of your problem), it's a matter of entirely different timelines. No secular, Western 19-year-old guy dreams about sahms... I think this is really outside the bounds of his imagination, like asking him, "do you want to go to the moon someday?" Uh... He may very well appreciate a sahm, in about 15-20 years. It's a matter of deciding if you want to take your chances and stick around that long.

Much of this approach runs counter to women's sexuality, especially that of young attractive women. It is, however, not a bad strategy* for older women (epiphany stage, late 20s/early 30s) looking for marriage/family sooner than later and women who value marriage/family more than any particular man. *With some alterations. For people who like this post, I highly recommend Paul Fussel's book Class, which covers social class in America in a very funny and biting way. What you describe sounds a lot like infatuation, in that case it isn’t really love is it? I think for the purpose of making the male sex drive palatable to women--infatuation, love, chemistry, "the spark," "butterflies," etc. are all one and the same. How can there be romantic love without some degree of infatuation on the part of the woman? I don't see it. Really, it's whatever makes you elevate the man above others and want to be the object of his sexual desire.

Conclusion: men go into this weird fantasy place when horny, objectify and dehumanize the hell out of women, many are incredibly porn sick and just downright disgusting in the way they’ve had their reality warped by porn. At the heart of them, it’s all about just actively being a good human being, about having strong values and maintaining them. I dunno, I think it's more about understanding male sexual imperative and strategy, and marrying it (often literally, lol) with female sexual imperative and strategy in a relationship that strives for compromise between the two, where mutual attraction and happiness can thrive. A woman can do this successfully but not be a good human being by any measure. She could be the…

The OP is way too broad, but there's some truth to it when it comes to communicating sexual and emotional issues, especially when it's the woman who has the need to communicate them. That's why a partner who "just gets it," or comes as close to getting it as a man can, is a real prize. Spares the need for awkward and distinctly un-arousing communication.

Motherhood can give women moral sanctity and social status that far outpaces status given to men by fatherhood. The importance of Mother's Day, activism sanctified by motherhood (mothers against drunk driving, etc.), the idea of introducing the "right" girl to mom, etc., etc. Prefacing whatever you're saying with, "as a mother..." gives mothers a moral upper hand.

The work of the mother, even when it's excellent, is private, routine and ordinary...and men know it's ordinary. The unfortunate but necessary purpose of “feminine wiles” really is to manipulate men. Because just voicing your opinion outright like you have a dick or something will get you nowhere. They have to be guided subliminally to the right answer by planting seeds and dropping hints. I do think this is a skill modern women, including myself, are losing. You're exactly right. I'm not self sufficient in doing anything that requires fixing, heavy lifting, anything technical and mechanical, complicates finances. My husband handles everything of that nature. If I didn't have a man, however, I wouldn't need a lot of this stuff done. I would never ever ever ever buy a house without a man…

Do you think that had someone wifed her up back when she was 15 or 16 (back when hypothetically she was a virgin) that things would be working out for them today? Or do you think the seeds have been planted and she's gonna go hog wild no matter what? Seeds planted! Lol, I just read a 300-year old novel in which a teenage girl is sent to a convent for life because her parents can sense that the seeds have been planted! (Quite sensible of her parents in that place and time.) It was against her con…

My husband used to have a matching user name to mine and would hang out here poking at me and giving advice. So yes, he's aware of the red pill. We talk about this stuff all the time. When did he become red pilled? Did that affect your relationship? Sometimes women here are warned against pill-aware men, but you and your husband seem to be using this knowledge successfully. You have my sympathy, I was both wincing and cringe laughing as I read this. Some of it sounds familiar! My husband and I have done short vacations with our kids and two things helped: -Not having a schedule when traveling. Easier said than done, and easier for us because we've never really stuck to a schedule for the kids, except maybe feedings in the early weeks of infancy. Hmmm, for me, soooort of but not quite. Yes, some of the hottest, most memorable sex I had with my husband was sex where I was nowhere near an orgasm...BUT...that sex was either: a) somewhat risky sex in public (like in a hollow redwood tree when we were hiking in Northern California 🌳) or B) quick, down and dirty, wham, bam, thank-you ma'am sex where my husband's desire and dominance was super exciting in itself. So, yeah, risk and spontaneity are hot without the orgasm. However, for more leisu…

I think you got some solid answers about women choosing between solid husband qualities and hot sex qualities, which can be found in the same man...but unfortunately, not that often. This is a age-old female dilemma, and much more painful for women these days, since in the past families steered women toward men with husband qualities and away from men with only hot sex qualities, and these days women must steer themselves. I'm seeing lots of well meaningful advice about communication as a workar…

It could be a matter of different tastes in kinks or wildly different sex drives, but most often I think it's a matter of the woman not finding the man sexually attractive for whatever reason. Her lack of attraction will make her less willing to accommodate different tastes and tolerate his desire for sex.

I'm toying around with a separate post on this, but ...the whole covert contract thing. Be honest. How much housework would you do? I would expect to do 90% of it on evenings and weekends because men aren't interested in the minutia of housekeeping, certainly not when a woman is in the house. The big exception might be yardwork/fixing stuff, that's where men tend to shine.

I don't know about that time period in particular, but maybe the social acceptability of brothels made things a bit better for undesirable men in the past. I'm learning that parenting elementary school-age kids is more emotionally exhausting than dealing with toddlers/babies (that was physically exhausting). You know, this is a very good question. In my view, men (and to an extent, childless women who want kids) have a very idealized, beautiful idea of motherhood, and if they perceive a woman as a good mother they put her on a pedestal above all others. It's the most pure, laudable thing a woman can achieve. Have you seen those trad wife Instagram accounts where beautiful young women frolic with cherubic infants in sunflower fields? It's like that. Women deal with the physical vagaries of motherhood…

/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 06:52 AM

Women in other countries are much more sentimental about motherhood. Which counties do you have in mind? To me, it seems like no one is more sentimental about children than upper middle class westerners, both men and women, because they have so few of them and wait so long for the "right" time to have them.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 02:16 AM

If you're fucking loads of dudes, you definitely have emotional problems that don't let you properlybond with people romantically. Same goes to men tho. Ok, that's a fair point, though I'm inclined to think that it's not high n counts that lead to inability to bond. It's that emotionally volatile people who can't bond in the first place end up fucking loads of partners.

I think men are sentimental about motherhood in a way that women aren't, but they also dismiss pregnancy and childbirth as no big deal. Successful relationships or lifelong relationships? Those aren't quite the same. Having seen my grandparents' and my parents ' unhappy but lifelong marriages, here's what kept them together: -First, the practicalities of leaving the marriage are extremely difficult for one or both partners. -Commitment to raising children together. -Later in life, shared history that would be impossible to rebuild with someone else. -And finally, in the end, the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.

I think it's better to have a husband who has some experience with women and understands how to balance the "alpha"/masculine and "beta"/comfort traits needed for an enduring relationship. But you can debate how much of an n count (if any at all) is needed for a man to achieve this experience.
/r/RedPillWomen02/06/22 07:31 PM
3

You are on a roll! Yes, I agree with all this, thanks for putting more context around my thoughts. :) (which is a form of power within the relationship that he must yield in most cases to make her feel safe enough to stay long-term). Yes, a balance of alpha and "comfort" traits. I think even the red pilliest guys understand that both are needed for an enduring relationship with a woman.
/r/RedPillWomen31/05/22 02:16 AM

I think this is an excellent answer. In addition to what Roses said, my own take is that having power over a man really isn't a win for a woman who wants a sexually charged relationship. I think women desire men who don't easily yield power to women or hold their frame even in the face of the most desirable femininity. This goes double for women who're naturally submissive.
