Is it really? I feel like Gen Z in the east has a lot of western views now because of mass media (I'm 19 myself)

Wtf are you on about? He may have had no experience in dating because he's socially awkward and/or doesn't initiate. Too few details to really say why.

Well, I live near a gigantic city, so I'm not sure whether the difference is that big.

I didn't say I want it to be common, I just said that since it's become rare I'm not sure whether girls would welcome it more or be more weirded out.

It's just that when I see someone in person, it's much more pleasant to converse with them. Online dating feels... soulless? Like, I even experience some disgust when I open it.

Well, I'm not spending anything since hiking is a form of PE in my university and the ratio of girls in there is quite high. But yeah, valid point.

It does work as long as you do. Didn't really get this part

Thanks. You are seeking validation and you are forced when you say stuff like "I should have asked this in person". Could you elaborate?

How exactly does escalation from being boring look like? And it's hard for me not to joke, I'm good at joking and like making people laugh. Though I can filter the jokes, yeah.

Casual touching meant that she lightly caressed my arm deliberately, though as it was like 1-2 times, I can't say anything for sure. Dialogue online was like that: Do you like the guy? You seem close but not actually dating. I should've asked this in person, but couldn't because of the company. I'm into women. Answer fitting your question. Oh, it's a shame. I asked because your company is very pleasant and I would've liked to spend some more time together, but didn't want to crush any budding re…

Aaargh, it will take a bit too much words, but I honestly feel like either she likes the guy and doesn't feel like answering or I pushed too hard with questions online. Anyways, any insight on other part of the question?

Added an example. Though the situation is a bit complicated.

Ok, got it, thanks. Another question. If I see a girl I like walking in headphones or in a company of other girls, how do I approach her (or I don't at all)? Are cold approaches good in general or not really? Also, is it okay to ask out girls I've known for some time and had fun with or they would just most likely refuse me as they only see me as a friend? Saw an opinion that it's either romantic from the start or nothing.
