Aw that's great. Sounds like you are handling this very maturely, seems like you have a lot of awareness now, which is great instead of only dealing with it years from now! That's really what "Me Too" gave us.

I'm so sorry sis. I hope you are doing OK. You have no reason to be mad at yourself, for being a good person and trusting people. You'll grow stronger from this, no matter how hard it seems right now.

The fact that he is still pressuring you to come to his place after you said no is very concerning. He acted cool at first but now he is trying to convince you to do something you don't want to do, not nice. There is so much you can do to hang out without going into someone's house. Also I don't think he should be asking you for help with his work, at least so early on. Stay safe, men lie all the time saying other people will be at the house/party etc and then there is nobody there.

It's funny how he's trying to make himself sound all altruistic (by saying "I deleted your number so I wouldn't hurt you!" not "I deleted your number since you wouldn't put out" or "I deleted your number so I wouldn't accidentally humiliate myself again looking like desperate scumbag") and then in the end he's like, "no yeah, you're right I'm a scumbag".

It is depressing but it's less depressing than thinking men are great and there's just something wrong with you. Well said!

She talked to him online and then decided he wasn't attractive after meeting him in person? I think pheromones are really important. It's our biology telling us who is a good match. Someone handsome can be not attractive, and someone average can be smoking hot if you're compatible biologically. It's not something anybody should take personally, just move on and look for a good match. She is not shallow and should not feel bad. You can't fake attraction, and it would not be fun to fake it for yea…

Apparently even a normal "successful" circumcision can result in tight painful erections. It's skin that the doctor has no accurate way of knowing how much is excess that the male will be able to spare in the future. Men with issues like this can encourage new skin growth through gentle tension: https://tlctugger.com/

Yes, as women we're so used to apologizing for having boundaries and standards! But it's just an opening for them to negotiate our boundaries.

Though "ew" is an appropriate emotional reaction to such rudeness, I think it's good that you just said no. Because "no" sends the message that you're not interested in being treated that way, instead of "ew" possibly implying that you would if you were attracted to him or if he had asked in a less crass way. No need to give a reason for wanting to be treated like a human being!

In 10 years you won't be a young lady, you'll be a grown woman, and they won't like it when you're wanting to make your own decisions about your life. Once that power dynamic is gone they'll resent you.

I'm Christian too sis. I have had to separate my spiritual beliefs and my religious cultural beliefs. I find great comfort in Jesus' teachings, but I reject the misogynistic culture he was born into. And he did too in his life, standing up for women many times. <3

I feel bad for guys with micro-penises. I really really do. That being said, as far as I know, micro-penis is a medical condition, a birth defect. It must be really hard for them but you can't just deny reality. They should try to pair with women who don't want or care about penetration due to their own medical conditions. Also, as sorry as you feel for them, it doesn't necessarily make them any less of an asshole. But maybe if they had a spectacular personality and didn't mind their lady also u…

I'm so sorry sis. I'm really honestly happy for you that you realize it sooner rather than later. Get out and do what you need to do, don't look back or feel bad, this will just be a blip, a distant memory, after a little bit of time. Another thing you learn with time is to not worry about what other people think. Mean people are going to judge you harshly no matter what you do, so you might as well do what you know is best for you.

Right!? I would even say this secretiveness is a clear sign that the mother hates her. This relationship is over if he's going to choose his mother over his girlfriend. That's his prerogative, but relationships don't work like that.

Thank you for your reply! I think I was unclear with my question. I mean were you happy that she chose to divorce? We always hear that it's better to stay for the kids, that they're happier with everybody together. But it seems like it ends up putting pressure on women to endure bad treatment. If it's a constant unpleasant environment maybe it's better to make a change. Were you happier as a kid once your parents separated?

This was insightful. I can say, the thought of being gravely sick or dying alone without a husband there to comfort me is terrifying, but I have been treated like utter shit for having the flu, so I don't know which is worse. It's sad to realize we really are on our own in this world, either way. I definitely hope to go all out Golden Girls and be there for my female friends as we age.

I can tell you it's comforting that you would want to fulfill that role, to know that there are women in that business. I would want a woman helping me with that type of situation. You would be a blessing. Even thought it would be hard to witness bad behavior, your being a realist would be valuable to other women.

Thanks for all this great advice! So you think it's better to switch companies instead of staying at one for a long time? Can you tell me why? (I worry a little that there would be a double standard on how multiple job changes would be viewed on a woman's resume versus a man's.)

He pretty much murdered his son by putting his wife through all that stress while she was growing a human inside her body. But God forbid the woman be able to at least mourn with some dignity, after he took all the dignity and joy out of her first pregnancy. On the surface it was wrong to not notify him, but looking at what she had been through, he really left her in no place to be able to deal with it. She did what she had to do to protect her mind during trauma, he overloaded her.

I did the same thing once-- when someone dumped me I asked if we could be friends. I think it really was just a way to ease the rejection in my mind. I didn't even really want to be friends with him because he wasn't that nice. Give it a little time and then you should be able to let it go. He will be fine, you don't have to have the burden of worrying about his mental health anymore. As much as you care, you can't play that role anymore and still be in a healthy place yourself. These kind of people are truly the ones who have been living life on "easy mode". I cannot imagine having a "fall-back option" to just use at my whim. As someone who has taken time off of work to have kids, and lost that income, I think it's fair to have a bit of a double standard here. Women have to be more careful to remain financially independent.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/02/20 08:33 AM
2

True. I think it's good to say something but it's important not to make the woman feel like you are looking down on her. Like be sure to say "he should not be doing that" instead of "you should not let him do that to you." One is supportive and the other makes her feel like you just think she's a fool.

This is so true it's sad. I've always thought this about PMS too, it's not that women just get grumpy for no reason, their tolerance for bullshit is just lower during that time. The rest of the month they let SO MUCH slide.

I can appreciate the sentiment, and the fact that it levels the work playing field a bit for men and women. But honestly, women are the ones who go through physical trauma at birth. Women are the ones that need to be with the baby constantly to feed it. Women are the safer parent for the baby. I think women DESERVE a good amount of time off, and it's a shame that they get punished for it by work places. It's a benefit for their future workers (her children) to let them be well cared for. HE told HER the trust is broken? "Try not to make him feel bad... He's probably feeling ashamed and embarrassed." This is the emotional burden placed on women in relationships. He doesn't apologize, doesn't treat the woman's feelings as valid, yet the woman is supposed to read his mind and deepest thoughts and assume he's ashamed and forgive him for something he won't even admit to and apologize for. It's too much of a burden, it kills the relationship.

I went temporarily blind after reading "Must do my laundry!" I mean seriously, imagine if a woman put that on her profile! We have washing machines, it's a modern marvel, your manly scientific brain should conquer it. It's harder to do someone else's laundry than it is to do your own, especially if they're nit-picking 'cause you didn't do it exactly like their mommy. And it's harder for me to explain to someone else how I like my laundry done than it is for me to just do it myself. Doing your ow…

I enjoyed reading your thoughts on this. It's so true, women are sold a total facade of what the world is actually like, and then blamed for not knowing the true dangers out there. They want to keep us "pure" by not revealing the truth about how men see women, but then they expect us to anticipate a man's every move, no matter how two-faced.

I'm sorry, I hope you can find a good job soon. I know it's SO hard to get to the gym when you're depressed and your body feels like it's made of lead. But going to the gym 3 times a week is proven to be as effective as antidepressants. It helps me to think of going at least 3 times a week as my prescription for myself. And actually there's even more of an effect if you go more times per week. But at least 3 times to make a consistent impact. Maybe you know all this stuff already, I'm just telli…

I think it's good to try not to get emotional when you tell him, but if you do tear up a little, don't sweat it. Don't let that worry you too much. I think if you're busy and stressed with other things, it might be good that you're seeing him tomorrow so you can get it over with and get it out of the way so you can focus on the other things. If you do start to get emotional maybe you can just vaguely say you have some other stresses in your life right now, etc.

You are not overreacting, you were in a very scary situation and he intentionally was trying to take advantage of you and was trying to push you into something you didn't want to do. And you should give him hell for partially undressing you, that was messed up. He did that on purpose, don't doubt it for a minute. I’d rather have lots of sex with different people than be in a relationship. I need someone to give practical advice on how to have sex with a girl within 24 hours of meeting her. I need advice on how to fake being human and manipulate her into fucking me. This is the dream world they are living in. They feel entitled to use MULTIPLE PEOPLE'S BODIES for casual sex, no matter how the other person feels about it. And they think women are the problem.

Why on earth do they think women are made to pair bond but not men? I can't even with this shit right now. If they're unhappy with women's "body counts", but want to keep having casual sex, it's simple math, there are too many men. They need to start a campaign: "Save the virgins! Kill 80% of men!" That seems to be the only way their world view would work. Slutty men die first. "Get a body count of 10, turn yourself in!"

I agree with some other posters that the behavior with the friend may be too much. But here's the biggest problem: If he's saying that if you don't have sex he will cheat, I'm telling you now he will cheat on you at some point if you stay with him (if he hasn't already cheated). You should consider "I will cheat" as the point at which you two broke up, and tell him fine bye. What?? No!! The women there are just more feminine and submissive and love an older man to clean up after! /s

Yes, it's very contradictory! He lost is wife because he didn't want kids with her, and then at the end of his life his biggest regret is not having (male) kids?

"And if you do then run" It's pretty annoying when total players try to act like they're gonna tell you who the real bad guys are.

What a beautiful statue. Thanks for sharing!

OMG that's great :D It's pretty annoying to be expected to smile, it takes a lot of energy to put on an act for other people. They love to demand free emotional labor just for fun.

Crazy! So they admitted they enjoyed having girls fall in love with them, only to break their hearts!

So women are evil for "hypergamy" i.e. having agency to select their own partner (which is not a correct usage of the word hypergamy, but men don't let facts get in the way). But he snags a naive young girl by getting her pregnant, while sleeping around--what's the term for that??

A guy once took me to a strip club on a FIRST DATE. And then our mutual friend was all surprised I didn't want to see him again.

Breaking up with your first is heartbreaking enough, I'm sorry you also had to deal with that betrayal and emotional abuse. Hugs to your 18 yr old self, sis!

I had an ex boyfriend who contact me a few times to tell me how successful he was. I don't know if he was trying to win me back or just make me want him? But if he can talk for 20 minutes about himself and doesn't drop you one nice complement or sentiment, what a drain.

He is not lost at sea This is cracking me up. LOL.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/12/19 02:33 PM

Well, I'm sure he would do the same for you! /s OMG can you imagine how a guy would react to a question like this.

It's true. It's so hard to resist talking to them like they're a logical human being, in the hopes that their heart might soften just a bit. It's a hard habit to break. You try to explain and then realize they don't want to understand, in fact they want to aggressively misunderstand you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/12/19 05:32 PM

LOL!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/12/19 05:29 PM

So true. They've always got to try to push shame on the woman.

I hope you are OK :( You definitely made the right choice. He sealed the deal when he got violent. Physical abuse escalates over time. Your life depends on you getting over this man. He is dead to you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 08:14 PM

It's harsh but true! You can't get through life day in and day out with someone who loves you but is unwilling to be your partner in life.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 08:09 PM

At this point I really think we need to update laws to clean up the internet. We are swimming in abuse.

That’s why it’s suggested to date multiple people at a time. You can find out who and what you like while not wasting time on one person at a time. Then find someone according to your standards. I wish I had known this. You need to meet people to find out what clicks.

LOL! I'll have to check that show out.

I have no experience with this, is this really a red flag? It could be he just really likes her and thought she might think it was romantic, right? I'd love to hear some more expert insights on this.

Based to call them out. It's hard to do that!

Yes, drinking scenes are hunting grounds. Women really need to have women only places to grab a drink and chill in peace.

Yes! It's hard to know how they will really act in a family unit. I'm soooo sorry you went through that. Big hug!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 05:30 PM

Yes, it's really crazy. And something I don't know if FDS can address, is the fact that these men just sexually assault you 5 minutes after meeting (like not even an arranged date, just meeting a random stranger in public). They think if you talk to them it means you want sex RIGHT NOW. How do we help young women with that? You're not even safe in a crowded room with these guys.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 05:27 PM
14

I'm sorry, sis. It's so sad.

Right!?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 05:16 PM

If you get tempted to go back to him, remember the names he called you when he didn't get his way. Not because they're true, but because that is what the man you've given your life to for 3 years is capable of acting like. You deserve better, someone who doesn't attack you when they're upset.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 05:09 PM

Absolutely. They really are not very logical.

He is aloof to the mental part!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 04:52 PM

Awesome! I think a copy of a photo ID and a background check should be standard protocol before advancing to a second date!

Totally.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 02:52 PM

Yeah, and he is in the place of not having to be fearful for his safety when setting up a date. Must be nice! We don't owe our trust to complete strangers! And they play dumb, like they haven't watched videos and talked to friends. They know how men treat women!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 02:51 PM

BARF! I'm sorry sis.

Financial liberation is liberation Yes, this is so true. I basically agree with you, but I feel conflicted because I want to be a SAHM. I want to spend that time with my kids. It's a huge risk though, for sure. And you can't tell what kind of dad and family provider someone is going to be until you actually have kids.

It's amazing what a good haircut can do for a guy's looks. A tight hair cut seems to be universally flattering. Even if you're totally average, dress in nice clothes (not expensive, just clean, and stuff that fits your body). And shave or groom your facial hair, and get a freaking hair cut and just a little bit of hair gel.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/12/19 06:04 PM

Yes. It's tragic.
