My sons elementary school begged for parent volunteers. So I did. During orientation, I was pulled aside and told I would never be allowed to be alone and never near a child. They paired me with a volunteer mother who had to be with me all day long. Other mothers who volunteered were given their own classroom to work in. Alone. Horrible experience, I never returned.

I used to be a stay at home dad and would take my sons to the park. The number of times that my kids were approached by moms asking if they knew me or if they felt safe was way too damn high. Invited for play dates? Yeah that wasn’t going to happen. It was horrific. Glad that part of my life is over.

My home is protected by every member having trained on the use of an AR15, and a variety of handguns, become an excellent shot and then, locating the best tactical advantages in the house. I pity the fool who thinks my family would be easy targets. Then again, my town hasn’t had a home invasion in as long as I have lived there. Mostly just petty theft from unlocked cars. But if a class war started, we would be ready.

I think it ties in because in math and science there is often a very specific right answer. If the question is “4 + 5” and Billy writes 9 and Jane writes 8. You cannot easy mark Billy wrong and Jane right. But in something more subjective, a “good thought, A+ Jane!” Can be justified vs “Sorry Billy I don’t see the correlation.”

Sadly I had a male professor who was biased towards boys. Well, only those boys who stayed late for extra work privately in his darkened office. (Yes he was reported many times, no the college did nothing about it)

Same here. My sons went through the whole thing. So far as one elementary school teacher slipping up during the back to school night. All the students there with their parents, she said to everyone, “I love my girls.” Followed by a ton of glares from the parents of the boys. She stammered, never correcting anything and just continued on. The primary school education is horrible.

I am so sorry to hear about this. My eldest is 19 and youngest is 16. This is the one thing that makes me fear for them. It is way too easy to end up just trying to prove your innocence. In fact the community, the people and the world will have them convicted immediately.

Could also be how it was being used. Someone sees someone running by with a "gun" is different then someone standing around in the quad obviously playing with a sword. Yes, the latter could turn deadly, but it is a lot less likely if they are out there obviously playing vs running to somewhere and / or hiding it.

My wife had flown to Asia several times with my son when he was an infant, in fact, he spent most of his first two years there instead of in the US (her father was dying so she wanted to be there as much as possible). Never once was she ever questioned about it. My sons are mixed race, and my eldest who was the one she took (youngest not yet born) looks very American like his dad; she was often asked by people on the street if she was his nanny. Never a question at the airports, ever.

Pull in to a well lit parking lot and ask her to leave. If they don't leave, call the police and have them escorted from the private property. Don't risk anything, let the police handle it. If I was a driver I would have MULTIPLE cameras recording everything at all times. They aren't that expensive, around $100 gets you a nice camera. I would have two in the front recording backwards from different angles (one on each side of the car facing backwards) and one in the back facing forward. Don't leave ANYTHING up to chance.

When I was in High School (1980's) I was on the Girls Softball team. Not as a player, just a manager, but I had to follow all of their rules. I spent a ton of time in the girls locker room (equipment was stored there, and I had to attend team meetings). After a while, the girls didn't care, honestly I didn't care either, I just had a lot of friends on the team. But I was given the rules that clearly stated no male should ever be allowed on a female team, period. But if there was no female equiva…

The article also mentions that there was no physical evidence to link him to any rape of her. But the damage to her genitals were consistent with a rape. Her lie puts this damage into question. Thus we have to throw that out. So it's really her word vs. his word because the article clearly says there was no other evidence. Did he do it? I doubt we would ever know, maybe yes, maybe no. But that's not a good reason to be putting someone behind bars, especially after she is shown to now be a liar.

I read the article but here is what the problem is. He was found guilty without any evidence linking him to the rape besides her testimony saying he did it, and that she had genital injuries consistent with rape. Since she lied and didn't acknowledge that her step-father was raping her; which would have put into question the only "evidence" of a rape in this case, and now paints her as a liar, can you honestly say the guy got a fair trial? Did the guy do it? I have no idea, but all we have is he…

More women report it (men are apt not to report it for fear of looking weak, and being blamed for it, the police and courts have not been kind to men.) Lots of men don't consider it domestic abuse, or even recognize that it is because it isn't really talked about; only joked about. There are almost NO services for men who are abused. There are no shelters, no hotlines, no support at all. (there are areas with exception but they are far an few between)

Although I understand the idea behind this commercial; they really are saying "fuck you dads!" Not one father and not a thank you to them. Being one of those dads who does everything for their kids, takes them to school, sports, does homework, laundry, etc. I guess P&G doesn't want me to buy their stuff, and I sure the hell won't after this commercial.
