SAME HERE. Im ok with ethical fuckbuddies and put lots of boundaries in place if/when I have them, and nix anyone who crosses/threatens them. But after the last 3 caught feelings despite them saying they wanted something without attachment, I've sworn off.

I'm 27F and in my second degree :) almost failed my first because my dumb Pickmesha ass put a LVM ex before my studies. Never again. Don't sacrifice any of your study or work time for a man.

As an artist, this fucks me off to no end. Pay me for my work, LVM.

Might be a bit jaded myself, but to me perfect implies that the end goal has been meet, and that he sees no more progression necessary in your development. He's putting you in a box and deciding that you have reached the level of achievement he is comfortable with and doesn't see anything more possible from you. Ignore it

I stopped paying attention to those groupings a long time ago tbh. The only time I've heard them being thrown around is to berate actual feminists working for change. Plus, the number of man I've met who identify as radical feminist far outweighs those who call themselves liberal, and they've been trash

I don't trust men who insist that they are feminists. I will accept "feminist ally" if they prove it, because that shows me that they are willing to acknowledge their position in relation to power - i.e. the movement isn't for them, and it's not up to them as members of an oppressive class to decide if they are. But if they call themselves feminists I'm out

Reddit is the cesspool where LVM like to hang out unchallenged and wallowing in their own filth.

Lol true, will keep that energy. I often react in a way that says "tough cookies, this isn't about you" (not in those words but ykwim) and bring it back to focus. Am trying to find a way to get I through their thick heads that what theyre doing is a pattern , but again, I guess I'm assuming they'd care... Thanks for the insights ♥️

I mean sure, but they're still going to keep doing it. I'm not going to try and fix them by any means, but when they do it every time something is raised to them by someone else about their behaviour, it's a problem. That doesn't actually give me any more power, it reinforced theirs because it's unchallenged.

Real talk - how do you shut this down? Even men in my own family pull that switch and end up making me comfort them for their hurt feelings when I was talking about my own. I can't block/delete/avoid them, so if anyone has a good killswitch for that behaviour plz let me know

Your feelings are yours and are completely valid :) idk if it would help, but something the good nurses I've come across will do is talk you through literally every little thing they are doing in the moment. You should be able to bring a friend too if you don't want to be yourself next time. Make sure to be kind to yourself for the rest of the day 💖

Sounds like an icebreaking exercise from The Game tbh. As shit as that book is, reading it opened my eyes to how twisted men can be in their attempts to manipulate us. Once you know the signs it's easy to spot.

Fuck me for having a healthy BMI and accepting to have dinner cooked for me by someone who offered, right? Lol

Reminds me of a short story I read once (either from Katherine Mansfield or Virginia Woolf) about a lazy husband who thought giving his longsuffering wife the scraps of his dinner was generous because they soaked up the most sauce...

YES! I wish now that I'd believed people in the past when they said stuff like this. My theory is LVM throw this one around when they don't want to put effort into a relationship but still want the perks of having a partner - that way if someone leaves them they never have to acknowledge they need to change and it wasn't their fault. Bleh. "When someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time"

LVM ex: "i don't date women over 30..they tend to expire after that." Same ex after he OFFERED to cook me dinner and I said yes: "yea, you look like an eater" I was 22 and he was 40 (yes, I know. Thank fuck for this group)

I was once told by two different LVM in the same week (not dating them, they were just outspokenly assholeish) that my stomach was the best thing and the worst thing about me respectively. Also been told I am a "butterface", and that my face is my only good feature. Then there was the "yea, you look like an eater" comment from a LVM date once after he offered to cook me dinner and I said yes (???) Men are trash.

I agree. Nearly always it also transfers over into them being bad at sex in general. No, licking my mons pubis for 3 minutes with your teeth on my pubic bone wont make me cum 🙄

Oh shit, you just put a tonne of stuff relating to an ex of mine into perspective. Yuck yuck yuck.... Thank you once again, FDS ❤️

I remove my pubes too tbh. I know they're natural and protective, and think I look a bit weird without them, but tbh sex feels better for me personally without them (that and heavy periods are much more manageable for me). I ask that the men I sleep with trim theirs down for the same reason if they don't already, but don't really care why other women do - to each their own. Personal preference and all. Re the supposed increased STD risk, I don't sleep with people who can't prove their sexual hea…

She was following a "trainer" (zero qualifications) who put her on a 1000 calorie juice diet for most of it. So I'm not as stoked as most about the weight loss...

If you're feeling unsure or uncomfortable, listen to your gut. If you need clarification, straight out tell him that there will be no sex and that you will stay at your hotel alone every night. If he responds badly, don't go.

THIS. I've been super lucky to have only dated men with low to no porn usage, and LVM are always surprised to hear that not every guy out there is a chronic user and that the good ones don't need it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
