OP here - it didnt take long for this post to get removed lmao but to update those that are playing along... this post was a social experiment of sorts, evaluating the ethical justifications of ideological homogeneity within a value based community and the subsequent perceived moral legitimacies involved. There is a lot more to it, but this was just a taster for later research. But thank you all for your participation!

I think maybe this was the wakeup call I mightve needed. I'd only ever spoken about it with my husband about it before when I first started questioning our decision to not hire a christian nanny in the first place.. he was very excited and suggested converting her so I think maybe I got carried away following his lead..

That's why I cant understand why she isnt baptized already when she is already so involved. I think thats why I thought it wouldnt be a big deal asking her to convert...

I think I didnt realise how big a deal it would be talking about her converting... I wanted to hire a christian nanny but my husband really liked the idea of getting an Australian nanny instead of one of the girls from our local church. She has taught in Catholic schools in Austalia before so I guess I didnt think converting would be that big a leap.. I have some reflecting to do with my husband for sure

It was but she taught in Catholic schools so I guess we thought it would be fine? My husband also really liked the idea of getting an Australian nanny vs one of the local girls from our church

I mean she taught in Catholic schools before so I guess I didnt realise how big a deal it would be... I wouldnt expect her to attend every week or anything, I'd just like her to be baptised and learn more about it and attend regularly with our girls...

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
