Hi everyone, looking for some advice on how to best handle this situation/if I'm being crazy for this...but about a year ago my husband and I hired a nanny to help out with our 2 young girls (4&3). She is from Australia and absolutely wonderful and trust that we did EXTENSIVE screening of multiple nannies before we decided on her. We knew at the time that she was obviously raised quite different to us being from Australia and all and that she likely holds different political and religious beliefs, but I suprisingly aligned with all her beliefs on childcare and education and things like play based learning and gentle parenting (the proper kind, not the crap you see on tiktok). I know she isnt religious at all and she says that she is politically neutral when working with kids (I asked - she said she "leads with kindness and curiousity" which I love) and honestly I know it wasn't all talk either because I work from home and see how she interacts with our children all the time - I 100% trust that she interacts with our children in a way that aligns with our values and isnt brainwashing them to any other sort of agenda but then again I still worry for when they get older and she is helping them understand the world better..I mean she literally has a degree in philosophy as well as her teaching degree so I definitely get the vibe that she is super liberal outside of work...

Anyway as my husband, children and I continue to deepen our relationship with God I can't help but question having someone who doesnt share our faith being present in our home all the time and essentially helping raise our children. I really think that I want her to convert so that I have that peace of mind that my home is filled with His light and that my children are being raised by someone who can be a true example for them.

Would I be crazy for asking her to convert?? I'm thinking I could ease her into it by inviting her to church etc with us and kind of helping her find her salvation but I just dont know if I'm overthinking this. My husband said we could also just start looking for a different nanny instead, or that we could offer her a bonus if she did convert. She is a fully qualified teacher so she already gets paid very well by us, but we definitely have the means to give her a substantial bonus if we think she might do this for us... what do you think? I actually wonder if giving her an ultimatum of staying and converting, or leaving and we find another nanny, might work better too.. It's not like she would find it hard to get another job because she is very good at what she does and we would still be willing to write her a glowing reference if she did go that route.

What would you suggest? Any advice at all would be SO appreciated because I truly am stuck on what to do. I just want what's best for my babies 😭
