The ultimatum thing is very manipulative and icky, is this the example you want for your kids? Just talk to her like a normal human being without these tactics of offering more money for following a religion. Your kids will have their own opinions when they grow up anyway, they're not guaranteed to be people of god. The more you expose them and push it onto them won't help either

Genuine question, is it normal for men to pout about their feelings without communicating the issue to you? I then have to sit there and reflect on what I might have done "wrong"?

Life isn't about finding a guy to make you feel loved and wanted every second of your life. It's been 2 weeks and he's added some pretty stressfully things in his routine. Maybe focus on spending quality time when you can? Expecting him to call you for bed and make all these plans seems like a lot. Have you called him baby? Have you asked him to be your Valentine?

He literally said he's not attracted to her, but you made a whole post about how he should be. Yes you are insecure and you created this whole scenario about it. Drop it, it's a you problem. If it's affecting you that much then don't have him meet her.

I think about that sometimes. I do always feel like I have to second guess myself over something that I see as innocent. I also try and make an effort to avoid anything I think could contribute to these comments.

Thank you, yes lots of comments mentioning this. Definitely something to look out for

Thank you for the perspective. Maybe next time I can he makes a comment I can say something along the lines of it means he cares a lot about me

Thanks for your comments, definitely helpful and could use for future

Ah okay, got it. The difficult part about this approach is that he usually waits until after the fact to make the comments. I can never know what's wrong or not in his eyes. I wish he would just tell me straight up

Yeah I guess more reassurance and less defending myself...

Thank you, interesting observation about indirect communicator. I have definitely felt like these types of comments seemed passive aggressive. Confront directly how? Ask if he thinks I'm cheating on him with my coworker? This would probably piss him off and he'll come back with a comment like "I never said that, do you have a guilty conscious?"

Thank you, I am going to plan to try and have a deeper discussion about it. I agree, it's unacceptable and really taking a toll on me.

That's an interesting perspective about diminishing something I did. It would have been nice to hear "good idea babe" or something similar. You know, sometimes it crosses my mind that he's projecting onto me. Anything is possible, but I don't have a solid reason to think he's cheating. He does have female friends, while I have zero male friends.

Yes! I get so offended by these comments. He says it's not a lack of trust but "concerns" he's bringing to me and my reactions are always suspicious. He's testing me maybe?

Haha, no offense taken! Yes exactly, I do like to at least put some thought into a gift for a person I work with every day. Thank you for your replies

Yes he knows this is for a work event. His argument was that I put a lot of thought into a gift for another man (I defended myself and said a Google search wasn't too much thought). I have called him out on this behavior before. I agree it is very stupid and in my frustration I have said this out loud. The more I fight him on it, the more it pisses him off. I literally sometimes feel like maybe I am out of line. I would just like some different approaches/perspectives

Maybe something you guys can do together as an experience, maybe mixology class, paint night, dance class?

Thank you so much for your wise words. I have been struggling mentally since I'm going to be 30 very soon. You're right that it's a privilege to still be alive and enjoying life.

Thank you for the suggestion. Do you use it yourself? I read something about it causing yeast infections but might try it if you've had a good experience

Ah interesting. Was that your only symptom? Dryness? Was it your regular doc or OBGYN? How did they diagnose it and what was the treatment? Sorry for all the questions, just want to know before going down that road :)

What are the benefits of keeping this friendship? Your SO most definitely needs to know. Why would you keep things from him? Would you be comfortable if it were the other way around?

Yes he just said this yesterday. He said that because he says he can't expect me to wait for him because he doesn't even have a timeline for me.

He's also told some friends and coworkers about their breakup, if that means anything

I want more time and more of a commitment, and yes I would eventually want to be his girlfriend. His new job makes more time with me difficult and I become upset when he constantly changes plans because he's too tired from work, etc. This causes added stress for both us. I actually brought this up a few hours ago and he said that's why he doesn't want a relationship right now. He doesn't want to feel guilty about not spending enough time with someone. So there's that....

Honestly I've been thinking about all those things. I'm not sure if I want kids but if I did I don't think he'd want more. The part about her always being in the picture is also true. Thanks for pointing those things out.

Thank you for your response. I stayed in my previous relationship longer than I should have. I was always feminine and submissive. The spark was gone for a long time. He wasn't the type of leader I was looking for. I felt very burdened with his problems as he'd always complain to me about them but never find a solution. Of course I tried listening but it really took a toll on me and I was no longer attracted. You're right, I'm nothing more than a plate atm to this other guy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
