Second missed. Two years in. Still no solid end.

My guy … my STBX manipulated our states’ DCF to get me out of MY house, where my children (10, 7, 4), because it was easier to call 911 and say “My husband is out drunk driving (yes, grammar nerds I know it’s drunken, but that sounds stupid!)” I was in the garage, not driving. I was definitely hitting a nip, as I was walking back into my house, through the attached part of the garage, there’s a knock on the door. I open it and there are three local police cars in front of my house, they left and…

I’ve handled my divorce poor, but thank the fucking gods I’ve not been arrested almost two years into the shit. Have the field day with her, she would have with you if the roles were reversed.

First, don’t go near opioids, crack, or alcohol. While the pain may get numb, it will only get worse for you. However, if you feel like you are about to run off the rails, go to an NA or AA meeting and they do “burning desires” in the last 15, and they will let you talk for 20. I’m not saying you can’t have, like, a drunk with friends, just make sure you leave at a night … a half. But if you are consuming daily, go to a meeting. Second, accept it is over. You just have to wake up and go to work …

My wife knew I had mental health issues, and rather than help me, she humiliated me in front of my oldest child and the entire community. She also wants me to pay for the bed her and her boyfriend sleep on.

I just got my first, semi-permanent (not a sub) teaching position. I love my job teaching middle schoolers. I went home one day in the first few weeks of school, excited to tell her about my day. “Fuck teachers. I hate teachers. I hated them when I was in school, and I fucking hate them now. Fuck teachers.” That did it.

I’ll echo, stay the fuck away from alcohol and opioid/coca-based substances. Find a support system. Hell, even if you haven’t really started any kind of substances, go to an AA or NA meeting. Talk during “burning desires.” Suicide won’t solve, in fact, she wins. Don’t let her win.

I wish I could. I still get physically ill. She also moved the same guy in 4 months after kicking me out, and is trying to tell me it’s not about me. You moved another man into MY house, to live with MY kids, and divorce depositions are next week, I think. Trial seems to be in November.

I’m really trying to do that, but my STBE humiliated me in front of my oldest child and the entire community we live. That mantra’s not working so well for me right now, because all my kids events are the friends of the person humiliated me with.

LONG POST ALERT June 2023, my wife left me for dead. Kept my children away from me almost the whole year. No holidays, FaceTimes, phone calls — NOTHING. Kicked me out of our house in the nicest neighborhood in our town, and now I live across the street from a trap house. STOP feeling sorry for yourself. DO NOT get to a place where this affects other aspects of your life. KEEP LIVING YOUR LIFE. STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ALCOHOL, OPIATES, CRACK …. Find something you love doing, and do it. You don’t …

We didn’t have a song, a place, a movie …. She spent the first 8 years beating the sentimentality out of me, then the last 7 complaining I wasn’t romantic enough.

As the person who was on the other end of this (in need of very minor mental health help), my STBXW did cut me off at the first sign of trouble. She initiated everything, knowing it would wreck me even further psychologically, and I can at least prove reckless disregard (so says my lawyer), in terms of my physical and mental health BECAUSE of suicide attempts. I won’t disregard my own carelessness in dealing with this, but I needed a little help getting help. Sounds like if I had gotten even a l…

My STBX refused any help I offered on a credit card bill of about 17,000. Let it balloon to 25,000, forgetting that she only listed me as an "authorized user." Her credit tanked by not paying it. Mine didn't. I know I'm responsible for the debt, or part of it, but seeing her go from "I don't need you" a year ago last June to basically moving a new me in in October of last year (4 months), while tough, is awesome.

I understand what you are saying, what I am saying is that the situation is complex and this is my first, real opportunity to take a shot at her. Like I said, I see it working. The crazy thing is, if she had gone about this in a slow, deliberate manner, I wouldn’t have cared. But she essentially forced me to the street over a disagreement, tried to steal my children and house away while this was happening, spied on me, and then when I DIDN’T kill myself, and she realized that because I finally g…

Nah, it’s getting under her skin. I am leaning into the fact that this guy started coming around less than three months after she kicked me out, and moved in in less than 5. The discovery period for our divorce isn’t up until Aug. 23, 2024. I don’t think I’m too far out of bounds. If we were all but signed, sure. But she has locked me out of MY house for a year with no cause but a flimsy DCF order that was dropped as soon as they knew she was manipulating them. Yes, I have the receipts.

Yeah, I told her I would be taking my kids, and that if she wants to bring a grown man that seems a bit too over enthusiastic about watching pre-pubescent boys run around, I can’t stop her.

I will not be shacking up anywhere until my band auditions are complete (I’ve been playing guitar with my Bluetooth speaker for about 6 years now). I’ve always been quick to jump on anything quickly my whole life. Now that my mental health is being treated, I finally understand what people meant when they said to take it slow. I’ll get a girl from a show or the gym. If it’s going to be a single mom, it’s going to be a fit sugar mama.

I do. She called me one night and said, “my boyfriend said he would coach your son’s baseball team if you don’t want to.” I use the program from Chris Hemsworth’s trainers, Centr, daily. She has manipulated things horribly. It is going to catch up to her, just not as fast as I would like.

I was always the type to jump at what was easy and forego quality. Like this smoking hot, smart woman would be there but because it was taking effort, I’d jump at the first easy woman that would cross my path. Not anymore. I decided to focus on me, and let my own self being and doing something that makes me happy. I started playing guitar 5 years ago, just before my marriage really fell apart, at HER advice. I was you this time last year. Literally. Three kids - 10, 7, 3. I tried to kill myself twice, well, with the amount I was drinking, you’d think I was trying to kill myself daily. So you already have that over me. Don’t listen to anyone that says don’t have a female counselor, it’s all bunk. My lawyer and therapist are both female. My pitbull is deposing her. Apparently, I randomly selected the best litigator in my county. I have males friends that told me she took them for everything in their divorces. Got one to sign away his childhood home to his ex. Not sure how I got so lucky.

See I’m opposite. My STBX asked me to snip after 3. I said sure, not knowing she was already planning a divorce. Now, even if I found another woman I wanted to have a baby with I couldn’t. Although, these stats give me some hope.

We are about a year in, I’m saving to pay my lawyer to depose her, which according to my lawyer, will be seen as a very aggressive move. I don’t want to hurt my three kids (4, 7, 10) but they need to see and know what their mother is doing is not OK.

She makes three times as much as me. I had a very mild alcohol problem (one night a week, perhaps one blackout every 5-6 weeks where I would pee from the top stairs, once in a while I’d get belligerent when refused sex.) no violence or abuse other than a kicked in bedroom door. She had a brother who worked in recovery she refused to ask for help. It hasn’t even started, but she is screwed. The alcoholism argument really only works if the alcoholic refuses to get help. I went to detox and am still in halfway housing for a problem that was a problem for sure, but her solution has been overkill. The day I left detox, four months after she kicked me out of my home I shared with our three (9, 6, 4) children, she moved her boyfriend in. Now she is trying to make it seem like I’m the asshole for not just accepting this. My lawyer has a plan of …

My wife tried to kick me out of my life and replace me while I was trying to get better. Should I just not go? I know if I go that I am going to politely berate him, and probably her, to their faces the whole time because of how fresh this all is. Mostly because of the swiftness she tried to replace me while I was trying to get help. I don’t plan on putting my hands on him, but I would make them uncomfortable the entire time. After 11 years married (15 together) and three kids, my wife used my alcoholism to move in her boyfriend on the day I got out of detox, less than four months after kicking me out. She is trying to force me to accept this man into our lives, I want to be there for my kids, but this is fucked up. Am I wrong to try gauge my kids feelings about this? Is it wrong for me to express my disapproval of this TO my kids (9, 6, 4)? I am 190 days sober.

Nope. I can’t even get a credit card. My credit is ok because she did finances and put everything in her name, except the house and car. It hits me when I try to open a new account, but it doesn’t hit my credit score. I do have a lawyer. I’m 180 days sober and that was my first detox, I have no criminal record, no DD charges. I’m a teacher and didn’t lose my job, and I work part time for a treatment facility now. I hear judges like success stories.

My name is still on the house that my wife, three kids and her boyfriend live in. I pay $800 in child support and she makes 2.5x as much as me. I went to detox in October for a relatively weak, but no less serious alcohol issue. She moved the guy in the day I got out and kept me out. No physical abuse. No sexual abuse. The two most egregious things I did were drink to belligerent and belittle her and once, after a decade of little to no sex, I reached out to a hs sweetheart one night and we exch…

No more chasing for me. I’m waiting for the right person while enjoying MY life. I’m willing to be patient. But that’s easy for me, my wife acquiesced to sex 8 times in 10 years. Seems like I should jump, but nah.

I am at a point where even if the judge assigns us to parenting classes together ([3]9, 6, 3), I’m excited to ask the therapist why I should be cordial with someone who knew I was sick and needed help but stabbed me in the back and tried to steal my life away while I was getting help. Everyone keeps telling me to get over it, but how do you get over that?

I don’t know about your state, but in mine it’s adultery until you sign the divorce paper or ignore it. Perhaps a surprise filing will set her straight.

My children will never not know what scumbags their mother and her family are. Probably will have to go to some kind of court-ordered counseling with the mom, but as far as I’m concerned, I’ll need the court appointed therapist to be specific as to why I should entertain any civility toward a person that knew I was sick, left me for dead, then hastily tried to replace me when I finally was getting the help I needed. They are going to have to explain it really slow.

I only pieced all this together after talking to my kids more. And it was only on Dec. 12 that DCF lifted their restrictions, early I might add. Before that I needed a a third, which could have been my wife, but I only found that she could have been that person in early December. She manipulated that to a T, because she knew, after she relocated me to where we are, that I didn’t have any friends or family to fall back on or help. She has her parents close.
