When I said 'I almost always associate their name with something else and use it as a nickname', I actually meant I almost always come up with some mnemonic to help me remember their name. 4	Losing face due to forgetfulness? My advice may not apply to you because I live in Japan, thus I'm probably given more slack with regard to forgetting everyone's names. But remembering Japanese names is pretty difficult, considering the alphabet is almost twice as long, and I didn't grow up hearing these names all the time, so hearing new names is similar to hearing a bunch of random letters. While some women also use make-up to look extravagant, a lot use it to cover blemishes or whatever in an attempt to look natural. So presenting 'wearing make-up' and 'being natural' as a dichotomy could come across as an insult; as if it were artificial vs natural.
