Ah, I forgot about Ernest Bax! Great resource, thanks for the reminder!

Thank you. I do find that modern history books tend to be revisionist in favour of feminist, so will try to find older books.

Thank you for the recommendations! Any books that explore the history of the sexes and the roles are interesting to me. They don't necessarily have to be anti-feminist. Thank you again!

Female MRA here. I would never support a movement that marginalised me or advocated rescinding some of my rights. I am here precisely because my support for the MRM is highly valued, as is the contributions other female MRAs make (e.g. Honey Badger Radio, Camille Paglia, etc.) However, I won't lie to you. Are there misogynists and traditionalists in the MRM? Undoubtedly, and I oppose both of those views strongly. The MRM attracts men that have been burned; whether by the women in their lives, th…

"GCers aren't feminists" They most certainly are. In fact, they are the most honest set of feminists I've come across, which is probably why I like them the most. RE, your 2nd paragraph: Stereotypes generally are accurate. Stereotype that women like makeup over sport? True. Stereotype that men like casual fucking? True. Stereotype that men choose women on their looks and women choose men on their material wealth? True. As for point b), until somebody provides me evidence that difference in outco…

100% correct. Their hatred for men is also very obvious, which is at least nice in a way, as they are the only feminists honest enough to admit their position. They don't prattle on endlessly about "EQUALITY", which is just a cover for the selfish power-grabbing of feminist women who want to delude themselves about their intentions.

Ah, but the idealist in me is convinced that I can change some hearts and minds! And I love a good debate as well.

I think so as well. Their ideology is based on feelings, not objective reality, so a discussion based on reality wouldn't be conducive to their narrative. Especially since so many feminist woman are so psychologically (and even spiritually) dependent on the ideology.

What's wrong with celebrating and appreciating the men who died as a result of male disposability? Their bravery and sacrifice kept women (like her whinging, useless self) and children safe. It's thanks to them that we're still here, and enjoy the quality of life that we do.

Interesting. Could this be why couples in female-led marriages are the most unhappy? I can't find the link, but I distinctly remember so called "egalitarian" marriages being the happiest, and female led relationships being the unhappiest. In relationships with a strict power dynamic, the power in the relationship leans towards the male.

Anecdotal evidence here, but one woman I know who was violently raped as a child is incredibly hypersexual and enjoys edgeplay BDSM activities like breathplay (choking, basically), rape roleplay, extreme degradation, etc. Apparently hypersexuality is very common among victims of CSA.

I doubt she would, though he does already own a house and car. She would be generous towards our family, I feel. But her BF? Unsure. I would like to think she'd treat him to a holiday or dinner out at the very least :P

I'll get right on it! Unfortunately I plan on attending UCD once I sit my Leaving Cert, but I hope to set up a Men's Rights society once I get there.

That's great! I'm Irish too and I'm surprised you got so much support! Also, what uni are you setting up this society in, may I ask?

Well, my school is kinda progressive so including her would have been "edgy", especially since my school is very anti-Trump.

I presented it to him today, and really the whole point of the project now was seeing if I could work Prezi, which was the program I had to present the project in.

Just after showing it to the teacher. He barely looked at it, he just wanted to check if we (the students) could work Prezi.
/r/MensRights20/03/17 05:30 PM

I honestly don't know why. I think the whole point of the project was learning how to work Prezi. The content of the project didn't seem to matter. I'm just after showing my teacher the project at school and he barely looked at its content, just how functional it was.

I was going to do her originally! Love that woman to death. I'll see what I can do.

Teehee, I was actually feeling quite trollish when we initially got the project, and I was going to include Melania Trump as she is a "traditional role model for women", but I thought it was a bit too edgy. Unfortunately I'm doing the project in Prezi (I have to), and I only have so much room. One requirement of the project is that the women would have to "promote the female gender", so I chose a feminist and Karen for the lulz. I'll see what I can do!

I agree with you. I think I should have included some words about women being empathetic towards males, as I feel that's where the empathy deficiency really is in our culture.

I really agree with this. I think I worded my post poorly, in retrospect. I suppose by emotional I mean feeling deeply and strongly, and being allowed to feel that. I feel men do get cut off from this. I feel emotions strongly, but I don't really express them too often as wild displays of emotion make me uncomfortable. As for coping mechanisms, I have noticed a gendered divide in this. I like to talk about my feelings with a loved one as it's my way of expressing love (by showing that I trust th…

I agree. I suppose by emotional I mean feeling strongly and deeply, and being allowed to feel that. You can feel strongly and just not express it. I've learned throughout my life that the ones who hide their emotions are the ones that care the most.

That's the solution I'm suggesting. I just don't see it ever occurring though, unfortunately.

I totally agree. It's just the more I learn about how evolution has influenced gender relations nowadays (with your comment above being an example) the more angry I get lol. Its such a pity that we're still influenced by our more primitive desires

True, aggression is not a trait that is tolerated in men in emotionally charged situations, which is funny because those are traits women generally find attractive.

I suppose the reason I dislike TradCon MRAs is that they're quite similar to feminists. Both feminists and TradCons think women are weak, men should help, etc. Both feminists and TradCons are just as dismissive to men's issues and unnapreciative of men's labour. Feminists are generally rather misandrist, and even misogynist. They assault men with terms like "toxic masculinity", that men are inherently broken, dismiss any troubles men have thanks to gynocentrism and completely disregard the good …

Thank you so much for your comment! My school is a very liberal all girls school, and they have parroted some feminist talking points like the wage gap, more women in government, "girl power", etc. I haven't been able to do too much about this. I did write an essay debunking the wage gap and other feminist points in a school magazine and got an A for it, which is a good start. There's also a lack of male teachers in my school (there's only four or five out of two dozen), which I feel has somethi…

I will definitely try. I unfortunately don't have a lot of male friends as I'm very introverted and go to an all girl's school, but I will do my best to get into contact as with as many men as I possibly can.

Thanks! I do actually try to correct my mother when she talks that way, but I can come across as preachy I feel. I just feel very strongly on men's issues and hate to see them maligned the way they often are.

Thank you for your comment and advice! I do try to be very courteous to all people. I have actually noticed that boys react a lot more positively to this kind of attention than girls. Whenever I'm polite to a male they react with almost a bit of surprise (I can't really blame them, teenagers can be quite rude) and often are very polite to me back, while girls and women don't really react that way. Thanks again for your comment. I'll definitely take your advice into consideration.

Thank you for your suggestions! I did write an article for the school magazine about the uselessness of feminism in Western countries and touched on men's issues, and got an A for it! My school is very liberal and parrots a lot of feminist talking points, but none of the other girls have bought into it just yet, and many of the teachers do listen to me in class. Hopefully I'll be able to do more.
