In my case, the other man raising my kids is my STBX's girlfriend. Just had a row this weekend after my daughter complained to me that mom said the girlfriend was another parent. Nope. I am their dad. All day, every day. Full stop.

This post sent me over the edge. Couldn't stop thinking about it. Not sure why this seeped in when others bounced off me, but I have a consultation with an attorney in the morning. Thank you. Serious. Thank you.

I don't disagree, and I am keen to end this scenario ASAP but what am i supposed to do? I am not going to abandon maintaining a home for my kids. I am not going to move out and live, where? in my car? and just continue to pay the bills.

Yes, I've often thought her girlfriend carries the most amount of risk in all of this. There are other examples. I've been quite shocked, actually, at the lack of forethought in a lot of how things have gone down. To be perfectly honest, her lack of basic foresight and financial responsibility concerns me greatly about how things for my kids will be managed, which is another of the many reasons I've ground my heels in and refused to give up any control of finances or schedules until the divorce …

The most I'd want is the $3000 back.

Thank you. I wasn't planning to hold on to the cash but to pay the debts off immediately, but I appreciate your advice.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
