I mean, Trump won white women in 2016 and in 2020 it was very close.

I already said the girl I lost my virginity was somebody I just went up to. Also me and my friends have gotten with many girls at parties and bars, which were “cold approaches”. I know a guy who is still with a woman he met that way. A longstanding study that has been replicated many times is both men and women going up to random people on a college campus and asking them 1. If they would like to go out on a date , and 2. If you would want to sleep with them. About half of men and women agree to…

Maybe a bit award, but “predatory”? I feel like using the that word in this context cheapens actual predation. Also I haven’t noticed a trend of men who practice cold approaching having no friends fwiw lol.

“Clearly that’s an ineffective method” I literally lost my virginity as a teenager with a “cold approach” lol. Was brutally awkward, but one thing led to another. Like someone else pointed out, before social media and dating apps, you had to “cold approach”. Wasn’t much of an option. Yes sometimes a friend could introduce you to a woman, but besides that it was C.A. With that being said, your opening like of “I saw you and thought you were cute” is a very direct. Not what I would recommend, thou…

Exactly. Many people on here are making it seem like simply talking to people is predatory because it is being labeled as “cold approach”. Men who are single and looking for a woman, or people who want more friends and general should try to be more friendly and interested in people. Romantic relationships and friendships don’t form unless you put yourself out there and talk to new people - whatever you want to call that.

Social networks have weakened in recent decades that is true, but up barely a decade ago there wasn’t DM’ing on social media or hooking up on tinder. That was all “cold approach”. The collective amnesia on this thread is very surprising to me.

So many people say “you shouldn’t approach a woman explicitly for asking her out”, and I call BS. Coming up with an excuse to talk to an attractive woman is an art and takes practice. The ulterior motive is sexual, but if you’re a good man - then it’s a mutually beneficial ulterior motive. Also, when you’re chatting with the woman you get to feel her out and see if she’s a good person/has red flags. My advice to single men: if you see a woman who catches your eye, go talk to her and see what hap…

How isn’t the gym acceptable? Supermarket or street would be a bold move, but you only live once. I love making fun of red pill guys, but most people commenting on here sound like they’ve never tried to get with women. If a guy sees a woman who piques his interest and he’s single, he should look for an excuse to talk to her.
/r/ExRedPill06/10/24 11:35 PM

Depends on what is meant by “cold approach”. If a man sees a woman at a social gathering he finds attractive, there’s nothing wrong with going up to her and starting a conversation. Men are supposed to initiative when it comes to stuff like this, and that’s what most women expect.

That’s true. Being happily married is a million times better than being single, but being single was still better than when I was with women who brought drama to my life.

Who said there’s nothing special to “sexual abundance”? There’s a reason why many famous men are known philanderers. That much isn’t a red pill conspiracy. In the long run for most men being in a satisfying long term relationship will probably lead to more happiness however. That’s not to say there’s nothing to being with many women. Also, a big portion of men aren’t desirable enough to participate in short term/casual dating.

To be honest, I don’t know what the best way is to meet women and where. All I know is that you gotta keep trying. Dating can be so draining, but it was all more than worth it because it led to me meeting my wife.

There’s red pill lore and then there are basic truths. Some examples of red pill BS include that 80% of women are only interested in 20% of men, that underlying dread is needed to maintain a long term relationship with a woman, and that men peak at 38. However, if you’re a single 27 year old woman that wants to find a good man and start a family, is feeling pressure a normal response? Absolutely. Same thing for men in your position as well, but especially for a woman. Generally speaking you’re s…

This has been a frustrating conversation, but I think YOU are the one who is confused about redpill ideas. Redpill guys, including Rollo, do say that "assets" including cars, are very important - not just the personal qualities that people think come with financial success (https://therationalmale.com/2012/02/23/looks-count/). NOBODY DISAGREES WITH "BE FIT AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF"! That advice is hardly more specific than "just be yourself". What most people are outraged by is the "how to" gui…

The only thing I "conceded" was that people are generally more loss averse than gain focused, but I don't consider that a redpill tenant. In fact, if you try to induce dread, discomfort, precariousness, etc. in your partner, you make the relationship less happy & healthy and therefore less of a loss for your partner if it ends. Trying to do that would backfire in the majority of cases. Innate female solipsism is a pretty big tenet in Rollo's ideology, but okay good you concede that point. Again,…

Rollo claimed in his book that women are less susceptible to emotional trauma than men, hence why they can (he claims) move on from relationships very fast while men are much more devasted by breakups. He uses this incorrect claim to then say that women are more self centered, and bases much of his redpill ideas off of this. You previously endorsed this idea and said this that women must be more self centered because of evolution. In fact, many studies also show that women are less self centered…

In those studies the authors were commenting on showed that women are more susceptible to PTSD despite experiencing less traumatic events. The researchers hypothesized that the difference could be partially accounted for because women are naturally more emotionally expressive than men. HOWEVER, Rollo claims that women are LESS susceptible to emotional trauma than men - something for which there is zero evidence. I linked a study relating specifically to relationship trauma, and it shows that wom…

Okay you did partially answer one of my questions. Studies suggest that women are much more susceptible to PTSD than men, whereas Rollo claims the opposite and says that women can more easily overcome trauma because of evolution. There is no evidence that adjusting for women being naturally more expressive than men would then make them less susceptible to trauma than men. It might equalize it a bit, but Rollo actively states as fact that women just are much less susceptible to trauma than men. E…

How is me posting about how women experience less traumatic events yet experience PTSD more, and a study which says that many women experience "severe, and often lasting, loss of self-esteem about twice as often as men, and in many cases noted that it hindered their ability to form future romantic relationships" after a breakup support Rollo's notion that evolution has crafted women to be self-centered and therefore be able to move on after a breakup very fast? They both direct…

Rollo - the "godfather" of the redpill - claims that women are less affected by trauma in general (not just relationship trauma) and that this definitely untrue https://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/2006/11/ptsd-rates. He uses this incorrect assertion to claim that evolution imparted a type of "solipsism" into the female psyche, and much his repill theory stems from that. Even with relationship trauma (if you want to call it that), women generally experience much more financial and interperson…

Okay semantically sure it's a praxeology. Substantively though, red pillers very much do not just say that women and men care about looks. If they just talked about that, I wouldn't mind much. Many of them are ridiculous with how much they claim women place on looks, and make it seem like you need to be 6'3 look like a supermodel and earn 6 figures just to land an average girlfriend. However, rollo claims that women have been crafted by evolution to move on from trauma faster than men which is w…

What guys like Rollo claim most certainly is a theory about female psychology, and much of it is bunk. Rollo is the “godfather” of the red pill theories and he developed it by reading about other men’s experiences on his PUA form (he’s been married for decades). Most of Michael Sartain’s “revelations” came from observing women’s behaviors at strip clubs. I couldn’t think of a more skewed sampling of women.

I think the red pill ideology is most encapsulated by rollo tomassi’s book “the rational male”. There’s a lot more to red pill than “looks are important”. If they left it at that then I wouldn’t have much of a problem. But they don’t and it’s this sprawling theology that full of nonsense. Redpillers often exaggerate how important looks are, but looks are certainly important though - especially for short term stuff. If you’re going to bars as a 3 with 7s and 8s, yeah you’re gonna feel like crap. …

I’ve read some posts from other men who were in a similar situation as yourself, and felt very gross after going to a sex worker. Sounds depressing. Even casual sex is a much different experience from a LTR with someone you really care about. If you go to a sex worker though, wrap your shit 👀

Is being 5’3 a disadvantage when dating as a man? Definitely, the pool of women who are attracted to you will be smaller than if you were 6 foot. However, there will still be women who are attracted to you, and you just need to attract one woman. That’s it. Go after women who are shorter than you, there’s still plenty.

As a man, don’t act predatory or threatening. Just be a cool guy who is easy to get along with, and you’ll be fine. It’s women who have to protect themselves from a minority of men who are predatory, but since you’re even asking this question means you are not in that minority.

OP- like another commenter said - you’re just single. Look at yourself as being a catch for a woman. You’re young, don’t have kids, and no STDs. Great! Normally talking to and chatting with girls is the first part, second part is asking them out. Plan a date, have fun and get to know a woman as a person. Don’t over analyze your situation.

There’s a big difference between short term and long term. For short term hookups women first and foremost want guys who are good looking, and brash confidence that some toxic guys have can make them more attractive. Less women are even interested in short term affairs though. I suggest that most men focus on long term dating, and then all of this shit just doesn’t matter. A lot of women who are attracted to a douchebag’s arrogance are immature anyways, and you don’t want any part of that. For l…

Have you directly asked women out and they’ve rejected you? Dating apps are one thing, but most of the time if you want to have a chance with a woman you have to have courage and ask her out directly. Rejection sucks, but you gotta keep going. Also if you aren’t that good looking I would focus on trying to find a relationship. Not as many women want to hookup, and those who do are typically concerned with looks more so than women looking for something short term.

Yeah if you hear that a lot then it can damage your confidence. I definitely think that most men aren’t attractive to most women, especially right away. I will say this though, I’ve been rejected by a lot of women who were not that great looking, but my current fiancé is just objectively stunning. If you’re not great looking I would focus on getting into a relationship to/finding a marriage as well. If you’re just looking to hookup, not as many of women are into that and those who are are usuall…

This is a good question. Outside of dating apps, if you want to find a girlfriend you have to directly ask women out. If you have a large social group but you never ask women out and never make a move, you can find yourself being lonely. It requires some boldness and vulnerability. Be brave.

When I was younger I remember being a little jealous about such guys, but the older I get the more it just seems man-childish and distasteful. All the men in my family older than 25 have a significant other or are married, but none of them is a known to just sleep around with a lot of random women. The sex is also a lot better when it’s with someone you really care about. Then you are looking for short term sexual partners. I don’t demonize that, definitely not. Is harder for men in that respect though. One thing redpillers say is that most men in long term relationships secretly wish they could live a playboy lifestyle, but can’t and settle. Honestly, I’m interested in what a study into the topic would show. Just be a doomer about short term hookups specifically, not dating in general. Many successful and famous men have getting with a lot of women as one of the…

I think dating can be split into two very different categories: long term and short term. If you want short term hookups then yes most men are gonna have a hard time, both in terms of looks and being in the right situation. There’s a smaller pool of women who are down for that, and those who are are more concerned with looks. Also, unlike men, women generally find intelligence and social skills an important trait for men they have short term flings. So for a man that wants short term sex, to hav…

That’s why I said something like that doesn’t count. Online there are pickup artists who tell guys they should do that to get over their fear of rejection because they think them getting rejected a lot will cure guys of them of their approach anxiety. Rollo says to “spin plates” by dating multiple women at a time. He always says the idea you can start a family with one person and then have them be around near when you die is somehow a “myth”. Meanwhile a few weeks ago my girlfriend’s 84 year old grandfather had his three daughters serenade him with the Spanish song “mi viejo” on karaoke night and was so moved that he teared up (https://genius.com/Genius-english-translations-piero-de-benedictis-mi-viejo-english-translation-lyrics). What is something good Rollo teaches? You’re not allowed to say going to the gym. I actually read his book “the rational male” cover to cover out of morbid curiosity, and it’s shear madness. A lot of verifiably false stuff too like that like the idea that women are somehow biologically adapted to overcome trauma better than men so when they end their relationship with one man they are able to more quickly get into a relationship with another man. It works with the right people too. Can the tactics that redpillers talk about like “negging” and “dread game” work? I suppose. I hate to sound stereotypical, but almost every time I encounter a woman who says she is attracted to that stuff - either in real life or online - have daddy issues and a long list of disastrous relationships. Overall though, I think the pool of women you will appeal to with such tactics will be smaller and disproportionately emotionally unhealthy. I believe that almost…

Also I think a lot of men fall down the redpill/dating coach rabbit hole because in the short term it’s soothing to tell yourself a woman wasn’t in you because you don’t understand the fundamental workings of the female psyche, as opposed to her not being interested because she just didn’t want to be with you. A lot of times rejection is personal. So what, move on. A lot easier to say now that I’m in a happy relationship, but looking back now I want to send each woman who rejected me a thank you…

💯. It’s a million times easier to be with someone who is just a good person from the start, reasonable, and likes who you really are. I understand. I did add a caveat that being the best version of yourself is a bit more precise, but I still definitely take your point. All of the redpill guys, PUAs, and dating coaches make fun of the classic advice “just be yourself”, but honestly I think that’s the best advice. Maybe more specifically be the best version of yourself. For most men (and women), if you don’t have Asperger’s or something like that I think there’s naturally enough charm and charisma for someone who is interested. I definitely don’t think it’s “cruel and selfish” for an old man to try to have a child, not anymore than I think it’s “cruel and selfish” for women in their 30s or 40s to try to get pregnant even though there’s a higher chance of Down syndrome and birth defects.

Yeah a woman could not like another man’s “grand romantic gestures” for many reasons. Often it’s when a man comes on way too strong in the beginning because “love at first site” affects men s lot more so than woman. Many times that’s just a man getting horny about a hot woman he doesn’t know yet, and the woman just isn’t at that point yet. When you actually look at the statistics though, it’s far from clear that men are more romantic once they are actually in a relationship.

Most men can have kids until they die, not so for women. That much is real. What I’m saying is that still the ideal time for most people - men and women - to marry and have kids is around 25-32. Do most men want to be changing dirty diapers at 65? No that’s definitely not ideal and they won’t get to see the child grow up.
/r/ExRedPill12/03/24 07:48 PM

💯. You’ve hit the nail on the head. Women do have a very real biological clock, but it’s definitely not ideal for a man to have a child in his 40s or 50s. Also, women tend to be attracted to men their own age, or a few years older. The idea that men hit their stride in their late 30s is ridiculous. Dating - in general - only gets harder for both men and women with age.

Repillers simultaneously scream about men getting all his money taken away in a divorce, but then make fun of men if a woman makes more than them. If they are so scared if divorce then they should marry a woman who is educated and makes good money. Hell if you’re a doctor and you two end up getting divorced, then he will be in for a payday. Interesting. Yeah usually sociology like this especially from early ancient/tribal times is pretty complex because the evidence points in many different directions. As some historians like Noah Harari have pointed out too, tribal societies past and present were highly heterogeneous. You’ve summarized it well. Be careful with grand narrative of how social dynamics have evolved over time. Usually it’s the red pill guys who are guilty of that.

Good point. Most men get cooked on the front end, but if a woman wastes too much time with a man who is playing games/just wants sex then that can leave her in a worse position since women are on tighter timetable for starting a family. At least men don’t really have to deal with women who are pretending to want a relationship, but just want sex. That is messed up, though it’s because for women casual sex is much easier. There’s a much smaller pool of women who actively seek out casual sex, and …

Good answer. Also, in general most men will have a harder time finding women than it is for a man to find a woman. Women are just pickier. That’s how it is. You only need to find one woman to like you though.

You gotta hope that people will eventually be won over by reason and humanity. The alternative is a police state run by philosopher kings that choose which information to suppress- not a world I want. I’m more hopeful on the redpill front than the political front, because redpillers actually try to make an argument based on statistics and evo psych. They take certain basic truths, but then cherry pick studies, lie about David Buss & other researchers and the end result is they push madness. Redp…

Because I think you’re infantilizing people. Hiding information isn’t the way to stop radicalization. Attacking core premises with facts and good arguments is definitely more ideal.

I think it’s all in how you cover topics. If you’re like joe Rogan, Lex Fridman or Andrew huberman and just let your guests spew ridiculous misinformation unchecked then of course it’s hugely damaging. However, check out destiny’s redpill debates against Rollo & sartain. Vaush has some important videos on the topic too. “The authentic observer” also has some good YouTube videos about Justin Waller and Rollo Tomassi. I think all these people have contributed greatly to fighting against redpill id…

https://youtu.be/JlYh_sMvYtQ?si=R4X1tOiniTTFrbIl 1:36:17, Aaron clarey says that starting a family for men is “off the table now”. I’m 27 and already many if not most people I know are settling down and having kids. To say that having a loving wife and kids is off the table is ridiculous. He also says that the problem with the US economy is that there aren’t enough pretty women. If somebody believes a person who promotes such ridiculous ideas, they’re idiots (at least partially). I’m not removin…

Yeah I’ve been there many times too since 2015. Pretty jarring, however, that just means those people were stupider than I thought. More susceptible to bullshit. I don’t think solving that problem means sterilizing the world and never discussing bad ideas.

Dude I understand your point and I don’t agree with it. Don’t go all Sam Harris on me and say “you’re misrepresenting me”, no, I understand what you’re trying to say. It has some merit at times. If a random neo nazi has no fan base then yeah it might best to just ignore them. However, Michael sartain, redpill figures, and trump all have big fan bases and they’re gonna be popular whether or not I talk about them. I don’t buy the argument that they got popular just because the media covered these …

Great so news reports from now on should be all puppies and rainbows! Almost everything else shown on the world news is highly politically charged and ideological violence that could potentially brainwash others. I don’t really see how history is any different. Neo Nazis still certainly exist, and reading hitler quotes about how dangerous and vile he thought Jews and mixed race people were could certainly be used to radicalize people. “Wow they killed 6 million Jews, something must be wrong with…

I understand that viewpoint, though I disagree with it. I think you have good intentions, but why don’t we get rid of history books about the Holocaust? They could definitely give people bad ideas. Should the media not cover mass shootings because it often inspires others to commit similar violence? I don’t think so.

At the end of the day, redpill stuff and trumpism/strongman authoritarianism wouldn’t have so much sway if their message didn’t resonate. Tackling the underlying misconceptions with strong arguments is a better way of reducing their appeal than simply burying our heads in the sand. I’m about halfway through the podcast and most of the stuff Aaron is saying is so ridiculous it doesn’t merit a response.

I’m a bit skeptical of that. Michael’s fans are gonna be sharing this no matter what I do. My ideal world is when essentially all men watch videos like this and just laugh at it.

Because at 12:10 he says what I’m referring to and making fun of him about. I’m not a porn bot if that’s what you’re asking. There will be no ads about getting a 13 inch penis if you click on it, but unfortunately you will be giving Michael Sartain’s video more views.

A good starting point is the destiny vs Rollo Tomassi and Michael sartain debates on the fresh & fit podcast. Yes destiny is a weirdo but did sort of crush some of the main redpill beliefs with actual data. It depends on what exactly the beliefs are which you are referring to. Redpill ideology is a few basic truths mixed in with a lot of lies and extreme exaggerations. Will ugly guys have a harder time with dating? For sure, especially short term dating. There is a smaller pool of women who are …

No because most young women want to get into a relationship. You make it sound like young women are all interested in hookups, and then only when they get old are they interested in settling down. In general there is a smaller pool of women who are even interested in casual sex, but for those women yes physical attractiveness matters a lot more. In general, I strongly suggest that people only have sex with someone they are in a relationship with/care about. Don’t want to get emotionally attached…

Yeah that’s why I mentioned how it’s very important for men to initiate contact. As a woman you can get away with being quiet and weird. As a man, you can still find a girlfriend like that, it’s just a lot tougher.
/r/ExRedPill14/01/24 03:53 PM

I went to engineering school too and your sample size is skewed because most engineering guys are very quiet and antisocial. In every culture in the world, men are supposed to make the initial move with dating, that much isn’t a redpill fantasy. Being social as a man is absolutely huge when it comes to dating success, maybe even more so than looks.

Okay for short term dating yes women’s physical attractiveness standards go up. For long term relationships though regular guys do just fine.

All I can say is that a survey of 60,000 men found virtually no differences in the number of sexual partners between skinny men & fat men, poor men & rich men, and short men & fat men. So the main redpill narrative is a lie. There’s not one group of men who are hoarding all the women. Are young women just looking to fuck hot guys? I’d have to see some evidence of that. Anecdotally speaking it seems like most girls are interested in finding a boyfriend early on, and I don’t think that most men ha…

You’re right, it’s a very big factor (the most statistically significant), but it’s not the only factor. For women there seems to be a consensus that physical attractiveness matters somewhat less for long term relationships. People tend to date those who have about the same level of physical attractiveness and socioeconomic status, but that isn’t always the case. I actually read a study once where researchers looked at many couples and they mostly had about the same level of physical attractiven…

I’ve tried to come up with a “general theory of attractiveness” for a long time haha. Women and men are a lot more similar in that regard than I initially thought, though not the same. There seems to be a consensus among evolutionary psychologists and other researchers that looks are more important for men than women, but any intro to psychology textbook makes clear that physical attractiveness is a very big factor for both men and women. However, love is certainly a thing, and you just gotta fi…

https://youtu.be/l1a1Wy4gues?si=fgCYEbWnr8g9I2DV The streamer destiny and the “redpill godfather” Rollo Tomassi have a hilarious debate because Rollo refuses to define what a “high value” man is. It’s anything you want it to be. In a later debate he said a high value man is a man “other men want to be and other women want to fuck”. Either way it’s a dumb thing to worry about. If you are in a healthy relationship with a good woman (or man), who cares if other women want to sleep with you or other…
