They're probably using age groups to distort the truth. You can point to any younger age group and say more women in that age group are dating than men, but that's just because on average males are 2-3 years older than female partners.

I can't see anything when I see that link, but this is a common but obviously false red pill claim.

Sometimes I wonder if when they say "women" they only mean 20 year old "models" who date around silicon valley. Because, in the wider world straight women are generally looking for a compatible dude who they personally find kinda cute who has a midling or better career for an exclusive long term relationship. That describes like 95%+ of all the straight women I've met or even heard of. That's not "settling" either, that's what they actually want. Red pill dudes will say they "hit the wall" and can't get the hot bad boy any more, but in reality the hot bad boy was a fun diversion for a few women while they got their own shit together. Their plan was always to find the compatible guy to settle down and have a life together. Others skipped the bad boy all together.

This conception red pillers and incels have of women jumping ship as soon as they run into a more wealthy or better looking guy, or 100 women dating the same 20 guys only exists in an extreme minority in particular subcultures and it only lasts for a few years for any of the people involved.

So, I’m convinced that the perceived negative effects of online dating didn’t come out of nowhere, and that there actually has been a negative effect on the social scene.

That said, there’s no real evidence of the red pill canard re: alpha men sharing all the girls out there - all of the sexist ‘wisdom’ on the interwebs is anecdotal. The shared experience of a small segment of the 7.5+/10, aged 21-35 dating world has been projected to apply to everyone out there, and chronically online NEETs now have a target for their ire.

What experience is that? Talk to any single pretty girl in a major metro area (call her Sarah) who uses Tinder - it’s very likely she has a) a very hot guy she is crushing on (Steve) who is not exclusive with anyone (and he f—ks many girls, including Sarah, a lot!) b) a less-hot guy (Stu) who likes her, and Stu hears all about Steve and how he is such a jerk for not dating Sarah, but how Steve still bangs Sarah sometimes, and c) Sarah has one or more girlfriends with the same problem. (Also, Stu is probably a shallow asshole who is unhealthily obsessed with Sarah, and is not disadvantaged in any real sense). The simple arithmetic of the situation above demands that there are more beautiful women than hot guys doing all the boning, and that Stu is spending most of his evenings alone.

Like I said though, this is a cultural phenomenon that applies to a small handful of very silly, pretty rich people - and is likely a passing phase (like most social circumstances). It’s like saying the weather in Ohio is freezing, so the whole world has gone cold. And then the online weirdos have blamed the snow on all women - and the grifters have swarmed in to prey on said weirdos. That’s where we are in 2024.

Edit: got an interesting DM. Here’s my take - I think Steve is a cad, Stu is superficial/delusional and needs to move on, and Sarah probably should work on her self-esteem so she stops getting naked with Steve without commitment in exchange.
