You can date any age you want; you're 23 and old enough to make your own mind up. You should just date people on whether you like them or not. Even older guys don't want instant marriage. Most US states (31) actually have 16 as the age of consent, with 8 having 17 and the remaining 11 having 18.

They are recent papers. There are a number of others, they don;t back up the assertion that age gap relationships are much more likely to fail than any others.

If you quote a research paper it will probably be based on a small sample size. The paper produced by the ONS is based on every single marriage and divorce over a 30 year period in the UK
