Hi everyone! I’m 23, and I’ve been out of college for almost a year now, and I’m moving to a new city for the long term so I’m interested in dating. I’m not emotionally ready to have kids or get married for a few more years, but I’m more or less bored with my hook up phase. It was fun, but I do want to have a relationship with the right guy.

I consider myself pretty mature for my age. I was an only child until age 10, so I pretty much exclusively was around adults- except in school- where I usually got along better with kids a year or more older than me.

I’m just wondering how you ought to determine the age range you should date as a women. My extreme minimum is 21, but I’m wondering if that’s too young. Is going 30 and up a bad idea?

I’ve been told I have a good head on my shoulders, I have two degrees, career goals, and I consider myself a good conversationalist. My only misgivings about dating older guys is that they will want serious commitment. It’s something I’m willing to build up to- but like I said, I don’t want to consider marriage for a while. I have a lot of things I want to do in my life, and I worry that being tied down and having financial and legal commitments to someone else would prevent me from being able to them.

Any thoughts?
