Well by definition its bad. How can something bad, be better than nothing, which is neutral? Its surely the same for men, they probably just have a higher threshold for what they consider to be "bad" sex.

So you found an extreme opinion on the internet which you haven't even linked to, and now you think its some huge problem. Yes many women are not interested in short men. But What percentage would seriously advocate discriminatory laws against them? My guess is that if you did a nationally representative poll, the answer would round down to zero.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/16 04:32 AM
1

I guess there not thinking about the "betas", they're imagining sex to be with the alphas, which as you yourself say "possess intrinsic sociosexual status, and thus need offer nothing additional to procure sex."
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/16 04:28 AM
1

For sure. But if you're getting rejected by individuals, you could easily rationalise that its just something about those particular individuals. When a site says you don't make the cut, its a bigger slap in the face, and now you know that this exclusive club for the beautiful people does exist, and you can never be part of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/16 04:24 AM
1

Rejection doesn't just suck for the person that gets rejected. It also sucks for the person who has to make the conscious decision of rejecting an advance and living with the consequences. If both parties are well adjusted and mature about it, the rejection process should be little more than a minor inconvenience. If done well, it can even be amusing and pleasant.

I agree. Assholeness and confidence are probably modestly correlated, but they are not inherently intertwined. There are certainly guys who are confident and a bit fearless, but also nice and respectful to women, and I suspect they get laid just as much or more than the assholes. If just being an asshole got you laid on its own, we wouldn't have the red pill and game. Guys would just go out to a bar, act like complete douchebags, then bring home hot girls. If you can get past hating yourself for…

A key aspect of Chaddness is status. Even in simple tribes status is garnered through social prowess, not just being the biggest and most macho. A big, tough guy will always lose against a group of weaker men who are working together. Intelligence is a prerequisite for garnering social power.

I think most men do care, but often only because its a point of pride, and/or they want to get some repeat business from the girl.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/16 03:56 AM

For a million dollars I think I could find an ugly, desperate girl. But still, maybe only 50-90% chance of success within one night.

No one is saying its impossible for 80% of men. They're saying a lot of men are sexually frustrated because they can't get anywhere near the amount of sex they would like. I suspect red pillers tend to have an appetite for more sex and more variety of sex partner than blue pillers. So what seems ok to a BP person might seem really frustrating to a RP person.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/16 03:52 AM

Quite possible, but conversely being rejected by the exclusive sites could add to the bitterness factor. Haters gon' hate.

As opposed to at any other time? More equal financial contributions are a relatively modern idea.

My dad's a taxi driver with minimal education and he's far better than most college-educated people I know. Sure, but on average, a taxi driver will be less intelligent than say, a physicist. Considering women often get dozens of messages a day, its a reasonable enough filter. If I wanted an investment partner I wouldn't be looking on dating sites. Isn't a spouse basically an investment partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/16 03:11 PM
7

Is it so unreasonable to want a guy with a good job? You're probably thinking it indicates a gold digger mentality. But often I think its a case of women wanting men with a similar level of education and intelligence to converse with. Also if you're looking for a long term partner, why shouldn't you care about their financial situation? Sure these women may have lesser prospects themselves. But isn't that a red pill goal; a woman that's ok with you being the captain, while she cares more for chi…

It's a good thing. The people getting "filtered out" basically never had a chance to begin with. It just saves them messaging people who will never respond. It don't see it changing the overall dynamics of the dating market much. More that it will just help people reach the outcome they would have arrived at anyway, but quicker.

Yep. Great advice. Obviously you still want to be selective once you get to know them. But most of the things that people think matter like hobbies and political views etc don't matter nearly as much as people imagine. Compatibility is mostly about intangible aspects of your personalities, and more similar does not always equal better. No one thing matters much, however in aggregate these things do provide strong clues. If you're a card carrying liberal hipster from San Fransisco who likes party…

Each guy was attractive in his own way. Remember, this is coming from the morbidly obese woman that considers herself beautiful in her own way. I'd like to see pictures of these gentlemen. My guess is that most of these men are not conventionally very attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/16 07:38 AM
3

Well I'm rejecting the premise that sexuality is completely fixed and binary. I'm saying you can be straight, but still enjoy gay sex. Let me flesh it out a bit more. Heterosexual men often have sex with each other when women aren't available, for instance on ships, in prisons, and in boarding schools. It was also common in ancient Greece. In Thailand today, there are a lot more men that have sex with men that there are in the west. The buddhist culture there stigmatises homosexuality much less.…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/16 12:31 PM
5

But could you perhaps find a man to have sex with? Oh you don't want to do that. Is it because you're not attracted to men? Well, that's how incel women feel about the very low quality men they could sleep with.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/16 10:24 AM
8

It seems as though some people draw a special hard line at homosexuality. As though gay sex is obviously an absurd solution to being incel, but women sleeping with men they don't find attractive is a legitimate solution, and they should just suck it up and stop being so picky. Yet the red pill always is quick to point out that women find low status men repulsive. So wouldn't it be a similar feeling for them to a straight man trying to make the best of sex with another man? Also sexuality is quit…

You do understand, do you not, that the male sexual experience involves much, much more than just applying friction to the penis until ejaculation happens? Exactly. Female sexual experience also involves much, much more than the grinding of genitals. Hence saying to a female who feels forever alone "I'm sure you could find some guy to bang you" is a silly reply.

Alpha as described by the red pill, no, although if they're hyper-competitive I often find them annoying. Alpha as its often used, yes sometimes, because its often used to mean physically intimidating and aggressive.

Granted you haven't given enough information in your OP to determine that it is anal rape. You just say: Things get hot and heavy very quickly, it's dark, you're drunk AF, and suddenly you are getting penetrated. By her. And she is not wearing a strap on. So since the issue at hand is obtaining sex by lying, in this case about having a penis, I posed the question: Did I consent to being penetrated? If not then obviously its rape. If I did consent, then I know she lied about being a transexual an…

This actually happened to me, but I was blown by a pre-op transexual. My reaction, meh. Effects on my life from it so far, nil. This highlights exactly what the blue pill was trying to highlight. If you're justified in such violent behavior, then if you lie to a girl about some important part of your identity to obtain sex, is she justified in subsequently using violence against you? Or are you admitting that violence is still wrong in this situation, and should be punishable, but you have such …

I don't see it as a serious threat, but its not impossible either. As you yourself say, it was the law before in the UK, and we have seem some obscene laws in recent years in the name of protecting women. People being sent to jail in the UK for saying mean things comes to mind. We're more likely to see it in the form of people being expelled from colleges or something like that, than people actually being sent to jail.

Oh you mean what some different people that aren't me say in different threads you've read at some point. Yeah, ok, cool.

Yep you're right. Still its an interesting question none the less, and people are proposing such laws: http://www.phillymag.com/news/2015/06/04/new-jersey-bill-sexual-assault-by-deception/
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/16 06:28 PM

Plenty of transgender people do like being the "top". Don't believe me? Have a look on Craiglist Casual Encounters. Not every transexual is a typical woman trapped in a man's body. In Asia lots of more conventionally gay men choose to become trans. Not to mention, plenty of women do fantasise about penetrating a man, hence the invention of strap ons.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/16 04:57 PM
1

Exactly. It's like if I ask a girl "hey can we have sex?" and she says yes. Then I immediately start having rough anal sex with her. It should be obvious that's not what she signed up for, and of course she can revoke consent at any time, such as the moment I start trying to penetrate her anus.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/16 04:55 PM
2

What an outrageous false equivalence to lying about being a neurosurgeon. Did I consent to being penetrated? If not then obviously its rape. If I did consent, then I know she lied about being a transexual and have decided to proceed anyway, so the point about sex by deception is moot.

All the obese men are also narrowing the competition for the non-obese women. So a genetically average guy who stays in shape should be able to do just as well or better as pre-obesity epidemic. I'd say any differences to Europe are mostly cultural, because Western Europe is nearly as obese as us.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/16 06:01 AM

Pretty similar to a day for an average woman. Most of life is just mundane day to day shit. What is the point of this thread? If you have a thesis about specific facets that are likely to be different like "going out to bars on the weekend" (which many people of both genders don't even do), why don't you just post that? This sort of extremely broad question is not going to give bloopers a lightbulb moment about "what its really like to be a man."

It could be a guy filming his wife playing the piano, for all we know. Yeah, but its not. That would be a lousy joke. Everyone knows what it means. I happen to think that it's ok to make that joke, but don't pretend that the connotations aren't blindingly obvious.

However even the most beautiful women in any community throughout history was limited to choosing from within her community. It works both way though. The "best men" can also use the internet to expand their pool to choose from. The pool of women that gold diggers have to compete against is also expanded globally in the same way. It doesn't really alter the fundamental supply and demand for desirable people. Every week chumps buy them $2-5K worth of lingerie, jewellery, clothes, dinners, drugs, …

What reason do people have to persuade people TRP is complete BS if it doesn't work anyway? They think it not only doesn't work, but leads to less healthy interactions between people. You only have to read what they are saying. There's lot of bad advice out there, like people saying don't vaccinate your children, and the fact that people rally against that bad advice does not for a moment mean that its actually good advice that must therefore work.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/16 06:27 AM

Unlike dairy cows women are valuable for more than just their milk (sex). If your only value is providing a steady stream of milk, then you are a disposable, fungible commodity. Diary cows don't get treated too well even when they are owned by a farmer. Once they stop producing milk they get a bolt gun to the head pretty quickly.

Well for me, be thoughtful, interesting, and demonstrate the capability for independence and some ambition and ability to contribute to a partnership. Standard red pill advice like signal that you're not a slut will help with most guys too. I know that kind of leads back to your advice, but you can still bang after a few dates without giving him an ultimatum demanding a relationship, and can do a lot to signal that you're not a drunken party girl who bangs a new guy every time she goes clubbing.

100% agreed. But we can use the same facts to justify a different strategy, which is, be worth more to him as an LTR than as a plate. Be worth $100 as an LTR. The problem with the "Plate: 40$ LTR: 10$ Nothing: 0$" equation is that this guy values a fuck buddy more than he values a relationship. By insisting that he accept only $10 or nothing, you're relying on either: Him being so desperate he doesn't think he can get the $40 he really wants. OR Accepting a high risk that once he sees an opportu…

Well if it is true that only a small portion of women are actually worth dating, it still leaves men in a tricky predicament. All the men are going to be competing for just a small pool of women who don't fall for these tricks. Also, a lot of men are just looking to get laid. So it certainly makes sense for them to learn a few tricks to bed women who are susceptible to them.

People need to take some responsibility for their actions. You can be a homemaker and still study part time, often using free online courses. There is a lot you can do to keep your mind active and your ability to compete for jobs at least some what up to date. If you choose not to avail of any of these options, that's on you.

1 year is consistent with what people get in severance packages. It's also similar to the cap in Australia which seems to work quite well, and hasn't caused a huge underclass of penniless ex wives.

I agree that half of everything is unreasonable, I'm saying half of everything accrued during the marriage is fair. Unless there is a prenup, in which case the prenup should of course be respected, unlike now where its often ignored. Marriage is supposed to be a partnership, and if you think your partner is not going to contribute equally, its up to you to take steps to protect yourself. I think its undesirable to have courts try and weigh contributions retrospectively, and that this often resul…

The argument is more that the partner not doing paid work contributes to other's earning by helping them develop business relationships, maintain the right image, and provide emotional support and counselling. In most cases that contribution isn't worth half, but in some, it probably is worth half or more. A spouse could easily be the "brains behind the operation" without having much on paper to prove it. Its not really possible for the courts to measure this with any real precision. So its reas…

Well it should be up to each couple to outline in advance how assets should be split in the event of a divorce, and the courts should respect their wishes, subject to the usual principles of contract law to prevent coercion etc. However, many people will not bother to do this or will find it distasteful. So the boilerplate should be something like: 50-50 split of everything accrued during the marriage. Everything owned by each party at the start of the marriage is retained by that party. Child s…

If we want to gauge the level of suffering in society, we should probably focus on outcomes. Most people that attempt suicide and fail, end up eventually recovering and go on to say they were glad they survived. 100% of people who take their lives are dead forever. So whilst what you say is true, I would say completed suicides, and suicide attempts that result in permanent harm to people, are the best indicator of how much a group is really suffering.

Rather than emulating this hyper-aggressive wildman fantasy, you cultivate an eminent statesmanlike personality. So basically just red pill advice. Show me a statesman anywhere in the world who is beta. Who supplicates to other people. Who fails to hold frame. In business training statesmanlike behavior is called being assertive, rather than aggressive. But no one suggests you should be passive, which is what red pill understands beta behavior to be. Likewise with emotional investment. Let's say I'm so emotionally exhausted that I only have 3 fucks to give. And let's say, the way I define love, I'll need to find someone who can guarantee me 300 fucks. It would help prosecute honest people. Laws should be logical even if they are hard to enforce. Saying the "gold standard" process should be to ask for affirmative consent is fine. Assuming someone is guilty of an extremely serious crime and should be sent to prison because they don't follow that process is not sensible.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/16 02:27 AM

This is not good evidence of a double standard in what men and women can say about dating. The guy's choice of language in describing his dates was a lot more vulgar, with quotes like: “I hate girls ‘I do everything but fuck on the 1st date’ rules. Hard to hide my disdain. My cock was in your mouth, why not the pussy bitch.” He also revealed intimate details about their sexual encounters, which the woman did not do, since she isn't interesting in having any actual sexual encounters. So it's not …

Below average is a far cry from dirt. On OCK the women were asked to rate men's looks. Women are far less easily stimulated by looks alone, and so its not surprising that few men can capture a woman's interest based only on a picture. First is that aiming or achieving 50/50 won't work. It is an incoherent goal and confuses people. You no longer keep people guessing or make them pleasantly surprised but rather you simply confuse them because they never know what you will do next. Wouldn't that be the ultimate way to keep people guessing? Sounds like the OP just read about some interesting concepts and decided to crudely shove them all together with a dash of PPD theory.

Terms like "alpha" and "beta" are best used for describing behaviour, rather than categorising people. Most attempts to neatly place people into one of a few discrete categories fail miserably. But we love it anyway. Hence the proliferation of online personality tests.

I think life gets even harder for men who don't make something of themselves. A good looking slacker can do well in his 20's, but will find it hard to get by on looks at 35 if he has no career. Not to mention most men let themselves go horribly by 35. I guess red pill tends to focus their own experience. So they tend to not be the best looking, or socially adept, but they see themselves as the type with the gumption to improve. If they follow through on their self improvement plans, they probabl…

Established couples actually have the financial upper hand compared to singles, I don't think that's got much to do with "getting laid", which is typically taken to mean casual sex. An established relationship might be cheap, but trying to bang a bunch of different girls, probably not so much.

Having lived in both countries, I'd say the dating scene is pretty similar in both. I don't see any evidence that Australia's legal brothels contribute to a different college hookup culture, or otherwise alter the dynamics of the dating market. I'd also add that brothels are very expensive. The average guy probably desires sex several times a week, which would quickly send them broke at commercial rates, so even if they occasionally visit brothels, they're still going to be playing the dating ga…

Where are you taking your dates for dinner at $50 a pop every time? Also a bit strange to attribute the full cost of your own food to the cost of getting laid. Chadd Thundercock would never pay for five consecutive $100 dinner dates to get laid. At that rate its costing more than a premium escort. More likely he would meet the girl at club after some loser had been buying her drinks all night, grind on her for half an hour, then take her home.

Any one of them could be successful with the right personality and attitude, but none of them have any stand out features that would make them automatically successful based solely on what you described. Of course women feel loneliness too. If women can never really be lonely because they could always get casual sex, then surely any man who can afford to hire a prostitute shouldn't complain of loneliness either. Clearly having sex and being lonely are not mutually exclusive. Loneliness means a lack of feelings of connection and closeness with other people. You can be lonely even if you're around people, and even celebrities who could get laid at the click of their fingers often feel lonely and i…

I've exaggerated about it a few times when I was much younger, around groups of guys claiming huge numbers. Looking back, I'm now certain that they were lying too. They were average guys about 20 years old claims 50-100 lays. My real number was about 5 so I exaggerated to 10-15. Now that my number is actually high, I sometimes lie if girls ask me so that I don't freak them out. For the most part though, I just try to avoid the topic.

Ever heard of social desirability bias. People are not going to frame the issue as "I left him because I found his niceness pathetic and wanted to try a whole lot of alpha dick" or "I was bored of my wife sexually and wanted a girl 20 years younger than me." Most people don't even admit these kind of things even to themselves. They almost always come up with a "good", socially acceptable reason.

There is not a widespread hookup culture in China. White guys do well because they are such a tiny, easy to spot minority. I doubt even 5% of Chinese girls would ever hook up with a white guy, but since white guys are <0.5% of the population of China so they still do well. However, China is no where near as easy to get laid as other parts of Asia. Average Chinese men and women are almost never participating in hookup culture. Being penetrated is not synonymous with losing. Many (probably most) red pillers regard it as counter productive for women, and evidence of character flaws. Whilst that is true for many women, in the world of quality birth control, at least a good proportion of women are indeed getting what they want. I say, good luck to them. They are not "losing" at all. Not every woman wants a long term relationship, and a litter of babies. For those women who really enjoy casual sex, feasting on the buffet o…

Yep, nice post. Genes are not as simple as many people imagine. They are often activated by certain circumstances. So its entirely possible, dare I say common, that man with leadership traits that he could pass on to his son, doesn't realise his full leadership potential until later in life. An additional piece of evidence as to how much we care about it, is how attuned we are to small differences in height. The average height in the USA is 5'10 with a standard deviation of 3 inches. I think women are pretty accepting, and even supporting of men overcoming their weaknesses and learning to be better. It has a strong evolutionary precedent. In the ancestral environment, hierarchies would change. Weaker men would climb the ranks and become more dominant. You can even observe this in other primates. Well to be fair, red pill is a choice, and is indeed a rare situation where we can be sure people haven't been indoctrinated to believe it as children. Almost every red piller chose this belief system as an adult. It is fair to call people out for foolish belief systems. Fundamentalist religious people for example. In this case I think they're wrong. But it doesn't demonstrate the sort of hypocrisy you might think it does.

This hypothetical is needlessly complex. No one is going to specify consequences for 8 different levels of the game. A better question is, what's the worst harm you'd allow for $1Mil? That's what we're really interested in. I'd be willing to go as far as several punches, on the proviso that the hardness of the punches is calibrated to the ability of the victim to take them. i.e. the attacker stops short of causing lasting injury or death.

Well its kind of a tricky issue, because I think the child deserves a say. I find it hard to accept the idea of forcing them to submit to a test against their will. Alpha means having high status. It can be achieved through aggression and dominance, but also through cultivating the respect and admiration of you peers (i.e. a famous musician). Usually, it involves some combination of the two. Alpha is sometimes defined by TRP as "being able to get laid with hot women". Thankfully, we have the internet. Schools don't have time to formally teach kids all the hard truths of life that they need to know. Drugs are not a shortcut to sexual success. Change nothing about yourself except that you start taking drugs, you will probably have less sexual success. Drug users and dealers may on average have more sexual success because their risk taking personality causes both drug taking and more assertive masculine behavior. Everyone is naturally "hypergamous". What is unusual is not that women prefer a high status mate, but that men do not do so to the same degree. Men do so to some degree. An average-looking man who prefers a very beautiful mate, is hypergamous in a way, for beauty is a form of status, and he would undoubtedly enjoy having her on his arm for an evening out. Obviously everyone prefers better mates to worse mates, whether better is defined by beauty, status, or any other variable or combination of v…

Fair point that it can be misconstrued that way. I can only speak for myself in saying I don't pretend for a moment that the SMV 10 scale implies any objective truth. It is just a very rough estimate for how I think the market would rate someone. To be fair, red pillers do often applaud and even seek out women who don't go for Chadd types.

Supply and demand and market forces do not require perfect competition to operate, indeed very few markets in the real world fit this Econ101 definition. A good analogy to the marriage market is markets for skilled labor. There can actually be a lot of variation in what employers and employees are looking for, and there can be a range of salaries and conditions that they will settle on. But these values are still bounded by certain key factors like qualifications and years of experience which th…

Yep, totally agreed. All this stuff about him supporting "bastard" children is a misapplication of ev pysch. Ev psyh guides our emotions in pursuit of certain goals, but those emotional patterns vary considerably amongst individuals. If evolutionary goals were the correct goals, men should be going out trying to impregnate as many women as possible, poking holes in their own condoms if necessary. This is obviousl…

I've known a few guys into the PUA scene. I would say that it worked, but not in the sense that most guys would want it to work. They would get laid regularly and the girls would be reasonable to attractive. However, they would go out several nights a week, and day game every weekend, during their lunch break etc. So for every girl they banged they were putting in many, many hours of cold approaches and unsuccessful dates. I think most guys reach a ceiling pretty fast once they master the basics…

At its core alpha is doing whatever the fuck you want. I wouldn't see it as beta at all. The reason such is situation is usually beta is the man severely compromises what he really wants because he is desperate. In this scenario, its just not the case. Its impossible to imagine such a guy feels he has no better option than to support the single mom. Some guys even have a cuck fetish, if they pursue it on their own terms, again, I would say not beta.

I've seen plenty of examples of classic beta bucks relationships where the guys could use a dose of RP. But I've also seen plenty that ended because of standard reasons women give. Usually because the guy was an asshole and either cheated, or just didn't give much time or affection. Plenty of women who would never subscribe to RPW never the less follow its advice and ditch players and bad boys who waste their time. Another common reason is the guy or the girl is too young for a serious relations…

It really comes down to; is he being honest? If they asked, where do you see this going? What would he say? Would he give the impression that he intends to make a longer term commitment than he really does. Often these things are not discussed upfront, or not early enough. But people always try to give each other various clues. If he's intentionally giving fake signals that he does intend to commit for longer, I'd count that as dishonest and pretty unacceptable.

Both experiences are completely foreign to your own, and none of your current preferences will matter anymore except a general preference for nice feelings over nasty feelings. TBH most of the actionable advice is not unique to TRP. Indeed much of it is "common sense." Internalising that women treat the top 20% of men extremely differently to the rest of the pack gives you the motivation to actually follow through with obvious advice about fitness, fashion and socialisation; and motivation is most of the battle.

Looks wise 18 is perfect. Fully developed but zero deterioration. Personality wise = same age as me is ideal. Right now I find most 20 year olds pretty annoying. But even those with some brains and maturity are generally just at a different stage in life and think and feel differently. When I'm 40, I'm sure I'll feel the same way about 25 year olds. So yeah, balancing the two is tricky. Whilst the half your age + 7 rule is silly for determining the lowest age you can date (obviously any adult ca…

Interesting perspective. I never had a Chadd friend, so it was more revealing to me getting to experience being Chadd. My buddies and I were always kind of scratching our heads wondering why we weren't getting laid very often. I can't relate to being "terrified" by my Chadd experience, and it certainly didn't make me angry. I guess I never went through the really horrible phase many terpers describe. Maybe you have to experience being an orbiter to feel angry about it. I don't really feel women …

As I understand it the Titanic was rare in that there was a scarcity, or perceived scarcity of life boats. So access to a lifeboat was the main determinant of survival. In most of the other disasters it was not access to a lifeboat, but speed, strength, swimming ability, knowledge of the ship etc that determined survival. So even if men made efforts to help women and children, we would still expect them to have a higher survival rate. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't sacrifice themselves to…

Interesting point. I acknowledge that there is a real difference. Feminists openly say they want to change society, whereas TRP says they are about adapting to society as it is. But in terms of assessing nasty and disruptive behaviour, would a fair comparison be the proportion of feminists that engage in trolling and bullying VS the proportion of terpers do the same? We can't measure it because most trolls don't do so under the feminist flag, or TRP flag. But it doesn't take a genius to figure o…

Feminists/SJWs outnumber Terpers by orders of magnitude. It should come as no surprise that their community is big enough to support a subgroup dedicated to mocking TRP, but not the reverse. Try "Floozers and Fluzzers both troll each other and disrupt each others conversations, mock each other and describe each other with hostility and contempt." ...aaaaand we're back to them being indistinguishable.

I think we basically agree. Now that I think back, I was the same. I remember one ridiculous time when I was 20 and a girl was sitting with me on my bed. There were so many signs she was into to me, but I was too scared to make a move because I was paranoid she might reject me or worse think I was some sort of pervert, and so I just chatted politely until she excused herself. Feminism has always smelt fishy to me, but I suppose it did still unconsciously effect my younger self, and make me unrea…

Yup, if you want to get laid, it probably does. The downside of that strategy is that you can optimize yourself out of the target demographic of women you're actually into. Yep. That's what would happen if I became a super huge body builder. The traits that get you laid can't just be rare, they have to be popular, easy to spot, and hard to fake. So being a DJ, or really buff, or simply just white in some places might get you laid. But being a brilliant scientist, or philosopher, or artificial in…

Agreed. I once saw a red piller make the point that whilst most women don't like super huge body builder guys, it's an under-serviced market. Even if only 10% of women like this type, huge body builders are <1% of the population, so they're going to have a good time. I think being a white guy in Asia is the same effect. It's not that every girl loves white guys. But enough do, and white guys are rare. TRP seems to focus on being top 20% "all round," but its probably much more effective to focus …

I agree with you. Male SMV is mostly about looks, followed by status. I think all the frame stuff can make a big difference to men who have been shy, or pushovers their whole life. But once you have a certain level of social skills and self respect, I don't think it makes any difference. I see no benefit in trying to be especially alpha/dominant whatever, and I don’t think being an asshole gets you laid. In Asia, I never used any dread game or any such conscious techniques to be dominant, and I …

Fair point. I accept that RPers state that they are not a social justice movement, but in practice they tend to agree on, and talk about a lot of ideas about social justice. If you look at the front page of TRP on any given day, you will find a high ratio of "outrage porn" to practical advise.

Wow, you have no idea how men think. The goal, in case you didn't read the whole post, was "no strings attached sex". I wanted to disqualify myself as a "legitimate partner." I wanted to be an "exotic lay." A lot of men would have this same objective at least at some point in their lives. So many girls I've banged off Tinder display none of those characteristics. Part of Tinder's power is it allows shy girls to circumvent the party scene, and still obtain anonymous casual sex. The obsession some Terpers have with uncovering a girls sexual past seems strange and futile to me. If she has decided to conceal it, there is a good chance you will never know the number, or even the order of magnitude. I'm not saying the number is irrelevant. I agree. From each individual woman's perspective there is more variance in what they find attractive. This is because women can be so much choosier. It’s this choosiness that gives rise to the 80-20 rule. The 80-20 rule doesn’t mean each woman is attracted to 20% of men. Perhaps each woman only considers 5% of men her “type.” There are some characteristics that are almost universally attractive, and having a weighted average score in the top 20% for these characteristic is what TRP means by top…

How is it due to feminism? The majority of women in the US don't even self identify as feminist, yet I'm sure we can agree women responding unfavourably to "Nice Guys" is near universal. Here is a simpler explanation. Women treat "Nice Guys" like dirt because of a change in the SMP where men are no longer needed for resources, and people settle down at an older age.

Which gender is more privileged in western society? I honestly don't know. I'm highly skeptical of anyone who claims to know. How can we possibly weigh up all the disadvantages men and women have? Furthermore everyone is either a man or woman, and is therefore to some degree invested, often emotionally, in the answer. Some of the people claiming a definitive answer should read about credence calibration. It might be reasonable to say that "I am 60% confident that men in Western Europe experience…

TRP is supposed to describe how the world is, not how it ought to be. TRP consensus would be that "sluts are bad prospect for relationships". Seeing sluts as "filthy and damaged" goods in a very emotive value judgement. Many TRPers would share that sentiment, but I wouldn't say its core TRP.

I gauratnee a man who is banging loads of different girls is not going to be too phased if an occasional woman scorns him for it. It would be like the reaction of a hedge fund manager to the occupy wall st people. If anything they would regard it as a badge of honor.

Or just categorise as men = 1,2,3,4,5,6. The point of the more granular categories is to illustrate that there is in fact a spectrum, rather than a rigid dichotomy.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/15 02:52 PM

Forget 40%. When TRP talks about numbers its a vague approximation to illustrate a point. Think of it as guys that aren't noticeably hot or high status, but guys that aren't unattractive either.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/15 02:49 PM
3

lots of women would sleep with a guy under this arrangement that they had little interest in - except that he was there and the woman wanted sex. This is totally true and I've seen it happen many times. However, guys that are interested in casual sex do not want to just occasionally get laid by being in the right place at the right time. They want to be able to consistently get laid with women they find attractive. This does not happen by accident. That is why guys strive to become "alpha".
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/15 02:46 PM
5

I believe her if she says she wouldn't. Thats what turns people off TRP. TRP provides some great frameworks but they can't be applied to everyone. TRP then dismisses anyone who doesn't fit the framework as a liar or a bizarre outlier. The reality is human behavior is complex and varied. If a model can even capture 60% of people its doing really well.

So its not true that some women will have casual sex with some men, but will only have sex with others in the context of a relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/15 07:46 AM

No burstage. Obviously some women have no interest in casual sex. But clearly quite a lot do at least sporadically. The categories above are from a man's perspective. A lot of Red Pill men will aspire to be categories 1 & 2 to as many women as possible. I don't think any would believe that they be this to all or even most women. Admittedly category 1 will be rare. But I think its fair to say some women would go to great lengths to sleep with certain men like celebrities.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/15 07:38 AM

I did define omega pretty clearly as a man who most women would categorise as: "5. Will only sleep with for provisioning of money/resources – no real attraction (only exists for some women, many are just not interested in using men for resources and would put these men straight into step 6). 6. Would never sleep with."

No rock bottom experience for me. I always did ok with women in the US. When I moved to Asia, suddenly I was having ONS stands all the time. No these women weren't desperate for money, just my SMV increased dramatically by being a scarce white guy. I used to believe that women generally only had sex in relationships, and would only have casual sex under limited circumstances. Then I realised that if they see you as high value, its a completely different set of rules.

Presenting infidelity as a certainty is just ridiculous. But I accept the risk is real. I would actually be the type to go for an open marriage. Yes, I know it will be easier for her to find casual partners, but I plan to work on myself and stay in great shape. Part of the open marriage deal would also be that I can use prostitutes. Also, I'm not interested in having kids, and as I said, I would only accept a woman who was financially capable. So I don't see the "divorce rape" risk as being so g…

Blue Pill is right that women do suffer a lot of unwanted attention and outright harassment at the hands of men. Women are also adversely affected by outdated gender stereotypes, and do face ongoing sexism, although as TRP would point out it goes both ways. Overall, life and in particular relationships with the opposite sex are generally not easy for anyone. Getting into a pissing contest about who has it hardest is a waste of time. I don't believe any of the stuff in the OP, at least not that women are particularly more inclined towards those bad characteristics than men. I'm still highly averse to marriage and LTRs. But I wouldn't trust a man to be in a position where he could take half of everything I own, plus ongoing payments. In terms of the characteristics I look for, I also differ greatly from TRP. I think a lot of high value men would accept 15 partners, including some TRP adherents. 15 isn't particularly high, the problem for me would be more the drinking and smoking and "wild life" which implies that she hasn't really achieved anything to date. If a girl is 30 its going to be hard to convince any TRP type that she has a low N, unless she has had a LTR that accounts for a big chunk of that time. They're good skills to have, to be sure. But suppose you don't have them, but you have a great career, and you pay someone to do them; is it really fair to say that you're not independent? If you don't have a stable, well paid job, then you'll be a lot more vulnerable. But let's say you're a doctor who never learned to cook. Are you not independent?

Keep no fault divorce, keep asset splitting, just make it possible to opt out. I don't think the current system is as unfair as many TRP people seem to suggest. Often women either earn as much or more than men, or do contribute significantly in other ways through homemaking and child raising. Even if they don't, it's the man's own fault for allowing an arrangement where he works all day while she does nothing, year in year out. However, if people want to write pre-nuptial agreements and opt out …

Even that definition is too broad. You don't need to be able to even cook or clean, you just need to be able to do something well so you can pay other people to do those things.

Being independent means you create value (usually represented by money), and exchange that value on the market for other things. No one would be foolish enough to suggest that it means you can exist in a vacuum without other humans. Conversely, lacking independence means that instead of creating value you rely on others to create value and give it to you, or you rely on the state to confiscate value from other people and give it to you.

Look at the highest status men in the world; athletes, rockstars and hollywood actors. They will frequently bang nobody groupies and even use prostitutes; because despite their status they will often choose a fast easy lay, rather than working to get the best females possible. What TRP fails to recognise is that whilst aces are an outlier, they exist on a spectrum. Sure, fully asexual people are only ~1% of the population, but they exist on a spectrum where there are much larger proportions that have some asexual tendencies such as demisexuals. TRP provides a good basic model of the heterosexual SMP, but I think its adherents underestimate how much variation there is even within the hetro population.

All fair points, but you have constructed a set of circumstances that seem to be relevant to you and your preferences. Imagine some alternative circumstances: *You don't care if he is an asshole, you just want a hot guy to have sex with. *You live in a different city, so a jilted lover can't impact you. *You're on the pill, he uses a condom. Pregnancy risk approaches zero.

My height has been measured at 5'11, yet I've had quite a few girls assume that I'm 6'0. I agree most men inflate their height by 1-2 inches, and this has probably warped girls perception. I've heard men who are shorter than me claiming to be 6'0. It's reasonably common for girls to say they want a man over 6'0, but only about around 15% of American men are 6'0 or taller. I wouldn't take the 6'0 requirement literally.

In the above scenario any man who isn't severely deformed or advertising himself as a serial killer is going to get laid like a rockstar. Comparatively modest imbalances in sex ratios like the ratio of 1.12 in China are enough to have a huge impact on the sexual market place, and indeed the culture of the entire country. There's some wishful thinking going on here. Even if we assume that being an alpha male does in fact correlate strongly with daughters being "good girls", there are two other variables that will influence the final outcome: 1) Society - needs no explaining. I expressed this part poorly, and the lumping together of fat, and lazy with low SMP was a mistake.
