Wait till she starts gaslighting you…that what you did isn’t worth anything. That’s their next step.

Lol All you need is a DeLorean , and get it up to 88 mph.

This is my point. My wife has spent 90% of my (our) income, for two decades. AND she’s going to get 50% of savings. So … I f’ed up, neglecting myself financially.

I gave her till end of November to get her shit together. Cause I’m a fool.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the input. I thought she’d just shrug off the new car as “my car”, and not bother with splitting its cost. We decided to just keep our cars.

Thx for input. We decided to split our cars. Also, I’m STILL paying for her stuff to this day, since we have a shared CC/bank account. I did open up a new checking account, and told /agreed with her my new paychecks go to ME . I’m just thinking, I could get stuff I’ve always denied myself for half off. I mean She still uses our shared accounts (that I have solely filled over years)… Idk .

Thanks for sharing . On top of what you feel, a lot us have kids / assets to split/ worry about . So it could have been worse, if that’s any consolation.

I think you’re doing the right thing, and have more sense than me. My wife has tried to get rid of me three times this past year, last time (two weeks ago) probably ending it. She made up her crazy-ass mind the first time , and getting back together just leads to the inevitable . At least for me.

Someone was already doing a good job. Hence why I’m in this subreddit. 😭😂

Exactly. I literally texted the stbxw numerous photos of the 3 vacations and multiple dates with her smiling just this year! , to counteract her “past years have been bad for me, we just don’t get along “! I’m like where tf have I been , I got along with you just fine . To say the least , she never comment on the photographs .

Yes, they latch on to the most negative aspects of life , and NEVER EVER forget it. You can be 99% superhero husband , but those few mistakes you made in 2004, 20012, and last week are the ONLY things that matter. That’s my experience.

U be the best dad possible . Let your kid figure out what’s what based on actions , not her words . In my experience, talking to her may not change her ways . But I don’t think this is grounds for divorce, cause then things will get REAL bad. Just my opinion .

I know this. It is downright pathetic, and I despise myself for it. But scared alternatives .

Is it even possible to reconcile, I wonder. I’ve been begging for weeks. I wonder what the success rate % for men is….

Tbh, I don’t think you’ll figure out what it really means, at least I couldn’t/can’t. But, this group helps. I’m sick to my stomach RN, I’m kind of new to this as well. In my experience, counseling is just an avenue for women to voice their grievances, , it did nothing for us except that.

10-4. I’m not dating yet, but mouth sores (herpes 1) are something always on my mind with strangers.

OP, is there a “standard protocol” these days to get some kind of an STD panel done when you first start dating a new person?

Yep, child manipulation is/was a tool at my house.

No, sir. Don’t you know the classic response from mid-life crisis women? “The kids will be better off!!” .

Yep, same conversation today. “You’re a good guy, but I have to find myself”! I’m like, can’t you do that at home, without burning 20 yrs to the ground? “No, you don’t understand, but you will!”. Uhhh, ok, sure, she may need to add a 4th antidepressant to the regimen first. Like who tf is stopping them from living their best life?!

Your scoreboard analogy is actually incredible, and helpful. I’ve never thought of it like that, but it is certainly true. Really also ties into absolutes : “You are always mean”, “We always argue”, “im always on your nerve “, “I can’t ever do anything right”.

Lol. At least your wife DID some house work. Not at my house. I DO daily housework in conjunction with 1x/week cleaning service. What’s funny is that the stbxw just sleeps all day, add RESENTS ME?!?!?! for doing housework… what the f$&k kind a world do I live in ??!?!

Yes, this. The projecting is unreal!!! “I can’t make you happy”… uhhh I WAS ok until you started this, YOU are unhappy. I can’t make YOU happy. I’m ALWAYYYYYS on YOUR shit-list, not the other way around !!! The score keeping… “You remember in 2004, during graduation, when you didn’t thank ME”… uhh sure, sorry. You remember 3 years ago when you said you didn’t like my dress I just put on, that really hurt my feeewings”!! Okay, aha, I definitely didn’t make up for it on daily basis since 2004, wor…

Same here. 20 years. All of a sudden, “most years were bad”…. Uuh , ok , really?!! 20 years of doing whatever tf you want, not having to worry about a single bill, not having to worry about anything at all…that bad. Yep, tells then kids all the time about the bad years, but they saw me work my ass off and try to keep family going 24/7 day after day, year after year, while she was in bed trying out antidepressants to tolerate having everything handed to her on a silver platter. Heartbreaking.

I’m literally in same situation. Kicked out. She says she feels less anxiety when I’m not towering over her, whatever that means. I’m trying to reconcile for 3rd time in a year. I guess I know the truth, but unwilling to let go.
