Nope, my money. Leave her to take care of all the kids. She can find someone else to help financially.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 10:54 PM

Right, but the concern is no longer him, he’s out of the picture. The question is whether or not I’m a jerk for not resuming the friendship after the fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/24 08:00 PM

Since summer 2022 Not initially, we met on a dating app, went on two dates, then I told her I’d rather stay friends. But we never exchanged anything more than a hug. I don’t know why he felt that way, I can only guess. Were the same height, thought I would say I’m more in shape and conventionally attractive. When it comes to career and finances, vastly different, with the prestige in this area in my favor. This is the only thing I can think that might be “intimidating”

A few months ago my friend said she couldn’t text or hang out with me anymore because I made her new boyfriend feel intimidated and insecure after he met me. Unsurprisingly the relationship didn’t work and she called me crying asking to be friends again. I told her absolutely not as I don’t associate with people who disrespect me. Am I the Asshole?

I’m restating the term you used, which was youth. You should amend your original comment to say “slay throughout his youth and into late middle age” rather than insinuate that your uncle couldn’t find someone after his “youth” was over. Your original comment makes it seem all women were not relationship material after his “youth” when in actuality he wasted most of his life fucking around. There are plenty of women in his age demographic that would suit him, but due to his skewed expectations, t…

If we consider youth to be 18-30, what did your uncle do during 31-70? Has he been repeating this sentiment the last 40 years?

If women want to do what you described why should anyone stop them?

Having seen this firsthand, it is not “cap”. It’s reality. What does it matter to you if this is true or not?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/24 02:51 AM

Yup, very true. I did meet one girl, we had our third date in a week together last night and I can already tell she’s getting super attached. I like her, but I don’t want to hurt her if I feel like I really don’t want to date anymore. I’m just not as into dating as I used to be and now I’m at a loss for what to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/24 08:08 PM

True! Going from an in bed selfie with flash on to a headshot with natural lighting, a good smile, haircut and body language really makes a difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/24 07:52 PM

I guess you were lol
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/24 07:33 PM

Right about bot being ugly or not wanting to date?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/24 07:32 PM

I was so concerned I was ugly even after making physical changes, and I would never be able to date again. Got new pics, got back on the apps, and had multiple dates/hookups within the first week. Now I feel validated, got my ego boost, and don’t even know if I want to date anymore now lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/24 06:46 PM

Q4M: Are you generally intimated by women, and do you automatically think they’re “disgusted” by you?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 12:43 AM

Why can’t you have both? A good career and an alimony payment coming in, maybe even with a house attained in court too?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 01:12 AM

I’m pretty sure there are a lot of guys on here who would date a homeless woman or enter a relationship with one who says she’s “happy” with staying at home
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 01:10 AM

So you would rather be homeless and starving?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 01:06 AM

That’s really disgusting and I don’t see how that pertains to the question I asked

/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 12:56 AM

Love is blinding!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 12:56 AM

Can you really blame a woman for marrying a guy with the intent of divorcing him and taking his assets? The economy is brutal right now and while being a good person is important, self preservation is the most important thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 12:53 AM

Wise words
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 01:07 AM

What else would you one up them at?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 01:06 AM

Q4M: How do you not constantly physically compare yourselves to other guys and think that no matter what or how much you do, there is still someone taller/more attractive out there?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 12:41 AM

Statistically it is average, but socially, it is short
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 08:35 AM

5’10” is short. Anyone saying otherwise is in denial.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 06:30 AM

When you’re in LA and there’s 12M people, statistically there will be more taller people, which gives the impression that there’s more of them, and therefore it’s average.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 06:09 AM

I’d say yes to both, but the latter makes the former even more of a detriment
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 05:56 AM

Just had a hair transplant and have been considering a rhinoplasty for a long time, I still have a deposit down at my surgeons office but I’m too chicken shit to go under the knife. I’ve also had this opportunity present itself, there is a clinic here in LA with an office near my house that does just that, but I’m also too scared that it’ll cause my hair to fall out.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 05:47 AM

Biologically, we weren’t meant to jump out of planes into the sky, yet we can do it and enjoy it despite it being a clear violation of survival instincts. There are endless ways one can circumvent the primal need you say we have for companionship and reproduction in modern day society.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:57 AM

But at the end of the day, I think I win. With the economy looking the way it does, automation sweeping the blue collar industry, I’ll never have to worry about that. While I may be single and not dating, if I continue to play my cards right, I’ll never sweat thinking about how I’m going to make ends meet, or even put food on the table. I’m very thankful for that
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:48 AM

Yeah, that’s more than likely not gonna happen
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:43 AM

My net worth aggregate is marginally in that range, but even so, will it make a difference? I don’t think so.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:37 AM

Very true. Being a high achiever, driving a sports car, wearing designer clothing, watches…all the compliments I’ve gotten were from friends or dudes. The sheer number of times I’ve heard things akin to “you would make a perfect husband” from other people genuinely just makes me feel sad nowadays.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:31 AM

Even if I am UMC, it doesn’t seem to make me more attractive
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:28 AM

Compared to my local competition it is
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:24 AM

Yeah it’s run of the mill here. In my city 300k is lower middle class too
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:23 AM

It’s a classic case of you want what you don’t have, or think you need. One of my friends is my same age and works at Target and lives with 4 roommates, but he’s 6’4” and looks eerily similar to a young Ryan Reynolds. He goes on dates with new girls every week it seems. He tells me all the time that he would be able to land “hotter chicks” if he had my money, but never seems to ask me why I’m never going on dates though. He does seem to have a sense of entitlement, which I think came from his da…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:21 AM

I agree with this from personal experience. Late 20s, senior engineer making only in the low 300s total comp, live by the beach in SoCal, but short (5’10) and not too muscular. White, strong hairline and facial symmetry/angularity, but my two negative features trump my career and financial status.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/24 04:08 AM

Because we live in the year 2024, not 2024 B.C. Physical strength is not a barometer for protectiveness anymore when anyone can acquire a firearm. The desire for having a large physical build is that it makes a woman feel small and protected. There are no practical means for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/24 03:45 PM

lol sure
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/24 03:39 AM

So I just showed him two of these and he said they’re all attractive except the ones who are clearly much older than him. I feel like he was saying that and wasn’t being honest
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/24 02:46 AM

Care to share pictures of what you consider average? I’m still here at happy hour and want to show him pictures to see what he thinks of these girls
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/24 02:16 AM

There is a single guy at my company who was talking at happy hour about how upset he is that he’s having trouble getting dates even though he’s an accomplished engineer with his own place, a car and money. Meanwhile he’s short, overweight, balding and always wear graphic anime shirts.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/24 02:09 AM

I don’t think you need to wonder; this is obviously the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/24 12:26 AM

Yeah they should, and yet they don’t. It’s honestly kinda pathetic
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 10:48 PM

Well, they shouldn’t. What’s changed since the 90s? The world is more accessible now than ever before. I think you’re confusing loneliness with isolation. I know plenty of guys who are single yet have friends, work with and around people, have hobbies, and they’re not showing signs of developing neuro-degenerative diseases.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 10:23 PM

That seems like a conscious choice made by those men and not anyone else
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 10:16 PM

Why does it seem like men who are single always say they’re sad and depressed, yet women who are single seem content and fulfilled?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 09:14 PM

What a gross over exaggeration. I feel men come on her to complain because they have nothing else better to do. What about the parent whose child died to cancer? I bet that type of depressing seeps into every aspect of their life, and yet they don’t come onto Reddit and complain. They can’t do anything to get their child back, but a man could do something to have the same type of dating life they think women have.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 08:20 AM

Problems are problems, and just because you’re jealous of someone else’s problem doesn’t make it any less difficult for them. Life is probably easier for men who don’t have to worry about wasting time and getting emotionally invested in someone who is just playing them, which is what happens to women quite often.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 07:55 AM

Having basically unlimited choice makes choosing extremely difficult. Constantly worried you didn’t make the best choice for yourself, someone might be a better choice, how and when to upgrade. Just these concepts alone can make life stressful and difficult.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 07:30 AM

That’s a pretty closed minded rebuttal; “I don’t know what that’s like but it’s not complicated” I would imagine you’re not a surgeon either, but you probably thing brain surgery isn’t that complicated.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 07:08 AM

I bet a lot of women would like to just relax at home and not have to worry about societal pressures.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 06:59 AM

Is that a serious question? Having to choose what to wear, what to do, who to hang out with, who to go on a date with, it’s extremely complicated and complex. Why can’t men be empathetic about this?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 06:58 AM

Why should women care about men’s struggles? Women have way more to be concerned about in their lives than why some random dude isn’t getting dates. To be frank, women have much more difficult romantic lives than men. They have to deal with constant approaches, maintaining their appearance, socializing, and enjoying life. Why don’t you care about how that makes their lives complicated?

Your logic makes no sense and it boils down to you implying women are innocent and victims of manipulation while men are twisted and users. It’s clear you have bias while I’m looking at things impartially from both sides. I do believe there are wrongful men who would lead a woman on just for sex. I also believe there are some women who would do the same to men. If a woman approached me who I wasn’t attracted to and propositioned me, I would politely decline.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 10:26 PM
1

Couldn’t the same be said for men too? I’m not trying to discount this concern for women, just trying to understand it. Should my friend be leery about approaching women under the guise that if she agrees to date him, he should constantly be worried about if and when she’s going to upgrade from him?

I would unequivocally want to start a family in the latter and not the former. When I was 24 I was just starting my career, making barely $65k and exploring a new hobby which took up all my time. I’m 28 now, so closer to 30 than 27, making over $300k, have my own house and don’t dedicate as much time to those hobbies anymore. I don’t think that someone should have to upend their life to find someone at this point in their life by any means. What is the logic behind people saying LA is so difficu…

/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 03:17 PM

Isn’t this logic further perpetuating the issues in dating? Assuming all men are lonely and will accept anything?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 03:11 PM

This should not be considered normal by any stretch of the imagination. Someone should not have to relocate across the world just to find someone. So you fit the stereotypical trope of female attraction; which makes sense as to why you received matches.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 03:00 PM

I agree, you shouldn’t approach people you aren’t attracted to, but I am jealous that women have this innate ability to sense that so quickly and accurately.

What in your mind, would a woman be doing alone in a bar, regularly scanning the room, be trying to do? Is this not what this subreddit preaches to do? Approach women in social situations, specifically those that are intended to have people talk with one another?

I don’t believe that a person can gauge that energy in that brief of an interaction, especially if someone greets you with a smile and directly asks you questions. Unless you are implying that maybe she felt she was too unattractive for him and wanted to leave because of that?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 02:27 PM

Because she was in a social situation putting out social cues that she wanted to be approached. Would you disagree with that? Alongside the fact that she lied in order to leave; of course I would be astonished.

What self awareness is he lacking? Let me copy a reply I made to someone about a scenario I saw with him just recently and you tell me, by my recount, if what he did is spectacularly bad: “Yep, I’ve seen it first hand, and lately it’s been to women who I would describe to be unattractive, such as substantially overweight, or just very plain Jane looking types who are clearly looking for guys to talk to them. For example, we were at Pat Molloy’s, an Irish Bar/Club in Hermosa Beach, which, of the …

Yep, I’ve seen it first hand, and lately it’s been to women who I would describe to be unattractive, such as substantially overweight, or just very plain Jane looking types who are clearly looking for guys to talk to them. For example, we were at Pat Molloy’s, an Irish Bar/Club in Hermosa Beach, which, of the South Bay Beach cities, is the one for younger people. He approached a girl, who was sitting alone at a table, and had been there for about 30m looking around at the room. She was overweigh…

I’ve visually seen him talk to girls who are obese and not attractive, in social situations where you would think they’re out to be talked to, with no luck. He’s got strong bone structure in his face, blue eyes, good jawline, full head of hair, white teeth, Caucasian. From what I collect, this would make him attractive. He’s not ripped but he’s toned. His photos are a good quality mix. And go where? His career is defined in LA, he owns property in LA; who in their right mind would drop all that …

I don’t get why people say LA is some off the path, “weird market.” I see families and people in relationships here all the time. What are they doing different? My first is single and lonely, and conversely isn’t getting snatched up. He also makes over 200k a year, owns in LA and drives a Porsche, yet still cannot use that to his advantage either, which I’ll preemptively agree should not be used to as an aid to date, but theoretically should attract someone.

What is one of the reason? I don’t get how this response pertains to what I said in any logical vain.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 01:54 PM

Well, while I am also a straight male, I cannot say that he’s attractive to me, but he posses features that are conventionally attractive; ie good jawline and bone structure, blue eyes, healthy white skin, full head of hair. I don’t see what it would afford him to lie to me, but I’ve seen it firsthand both by looking at his matches, or lack thereof, and seeing him out at bars and not getting anything more than a brief conversation with, in my book, some ugly, fat women.

Why would things get worse the closer you get to 30? Isn’t that supposed to be the inverse for men?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 01:48 PM

That’s exactly what he’s looking for, and I’d say he is. He’s an engineer that earns in the 200s, and advertises he’s looking for a relationship. He’s pictures are a mix of him looking fun and adventurous as well as humble and reserved.

I don’t see how your personal anecdote nor statement are directly applicable to what my friend is doing. He actively goes out and socializes, talks with women in multiple different environments, and according to him, cant get a single number or social media handle. So there’s a disconnect between you and him, what do you think that could be?

I don’t agree that LA lacks third places; I drove through Silver Lake tonight and it was lined with bars and restaurants full of people. I went to a USC game as well and socialized with a bunch of random people. If anything LA has exponentially more third places than some podunk nowheresville Midwest town.

This has been going on for a while for him, it’s not something he said after trying for a few days. I think what’s worrying him is exactly that; why it’s been so long. I may have even undersold him in my description. He makes in the 200s, has his own place and is extremely sociable and talkative, which makes you wonder even deeper as to if the problem is him, or something greater

I find it equally interesting that you completely discounted my statement because you believe that I have a different lived experience than you. Much to your chagrin, I am someone who has never had sex nor a relationship, even a date, and I’m 28. My claim can be reinforced by looking at my recent post history corroborating my claim from a previous date than when this thread was created. You’re either living in your little terminally online fantasy bubble, barely 20 years old, or you’re just straight up lying. Nobody picks fun at people for these things in the real world. Women do not screen for virginity. If one did she would be labeled as crazy and rightfully so.

“Played the stocks” is not what I meant. The majority of the population invested in retirement accounts, their company, etc, which paid dividends. Actually no, I would contest that. There were roughly 3.9B people alive in 1970 vs 8.1B today. I refuse to believe there are less people in relationships today than back then. Using comparative arguments to the past is logical fallacy. I should start complaining that I wasn’t able to invest in the market like people could in the 70s. It’s not fair!

Most people still do today too. This is just an echo chamber that makes you think that isn’t the case.

Because things were scaled back then, people weren’t complaining about having 100k to their name in the 70s either.

What needed to be said but nobody stepped up to do so. Really just a bunch of socially awkward people congregating and commiserating.

Do you think if someone explained the science and safety behind the sport, you’d be less worried?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 10:47 PM

Yes, I always told myself I would quit the sport if I had kids or others dependent on me.

“Unlike testosterone, DHT doesn’t play a significant role in maintaining male physiology in adulthood. Effects mainly include prostate enlargement and male pattern hair loss in adulthood.” Source: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/24555-dht-dihydrotestosterone Are you a physician actively doing research in this field, or are you just typing what you think is right?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 09:54 PM

I’d like to clarify to others reading that it inhibits the synthesis of DHT, not regular testosterone. DHT is important during sexual development, not in adult males. Do your research before making brash statements. Let’s not try and mislead people now.

So the unfortunate people who are doomed to having no possible romantic prospects, what should they do? Go about life visibly depressed and sad? Complain that they feel lonely and lament the fact that they want a partner but have failed time and again to get one? People who do that are seen as outcasts; looked down upon and avoided like the lepers from history. The world we live in is all about optics and it is socially vital to make it seem like we are at the bare minimum content with how are r…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 01:11 AM

I agree, there should be no lowering of standards across the board. It will just increase the issues already prevalent in the dating market. The people, both men and women, saying that the other should lower their standards are just upset they don’t meet them. The world we live in gives them every opportunity to do so. Whether it be an education to increase income, therapy to fix behavioral issues, or plastic surgery to correct physical issues. What have you done to try and heal? I can’t imagine…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 12:15 AM
2

I see. But you shouldn’t make hasty generalizations about what all men say. Here: I am single and have never had a relationship, though I would not want any girl and I have standards. There you go, I have transcended the boundaries for what you think men say. Now you can say men don’t want to be just any girl. I am sorry you are dealing with heartbreak. While I have not experienced such a feeling, I have heard it is extremely painful. I hope you heal in time.

Exactly as you said it “Sex with someone I don’t desire.” Using terms like “duty sex” in a discussion related to relationships is akin to someone using a term like “libtards” in a political discourse. It illustrates maladjustment and to a certain extent immaturity. Stating that “any sex is okay for men” is just reaffirming the fact that you’re not well adjusted. It’s demeaning, disrespectful and insensitive. I would not want to be with someone that does not desire me, nor would I be with someone…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/23 11:19 PM

Well adjusted people don’t use terms like duty sex. I hope you’re getting the help you need. Maybe it’s for the best. Wouldn’t want to traumatize someone else by engaging in a relationship with them.

This is a wild and dangerous take - this is not a space to advocate for chemical castration. There are clearly mentally unwell people here who will take this advice and seek drugs to do this, more than likely not under medical supervision.

So then you’re just gonna live an unhappy life until you die?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/23 10:13 PM

If you want the “works everytime” solution, just do this: Become exceedingly rich, buy property in a very affluent area, and flaunt your wealth. Drive hypercars, go on shopping sprees, host Jay Gatsby like parties. You’ll have those 10/10 women right away. They will want you for all the reasons I listed above, and not for who you actually are without it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/23 07:39 PM

I think this really depends on how you frame loneliness, and there are so many variables that factor into one’s life that can contribute to loneliness that ascribing it to one gender is nonsensical. Our society today, speaking primarily for western societies, is one of the most interconnected while simultaneously disconnected ones that this planet has ever seen. There is an epidemic of increasing depression which is resultant from feeling lonely, and it isn’t exclusive to either men or women.

The delineating factor between your advice and what my friend’s girlfriend said is that you’re assuming that I was presenting myself as a complete needy wreck when the comment was said, when it was almost the opposite. Your last point is so real. I’ve had multiple friends tell me that “relationships aren’t all they’re cracked up to be” and unsurprisingly they’re all in relationships. One of the hardest things I’ve ever been told that’ll be forever engrained in my mind is something my friend’s girlfriend told me: “Even if you got a girl, it wouldn’t work out anyways.” When I asked her why, she looked like a deer in headlights for a few seconds then said “oh I dunno” Her response was so instinctual and innate an…

I’m glad that you’re comfortable with your height. I must be letting these insane ideologies get to my head because I instinctively thought you were short and coping until I really thought it through. Have you ever felt too short as a 5’9” guy?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 06:35 AM

I’m not gonna be rude but I’ve gotten this question as a response to my complaints so many times. I could tell you I was 4’6” or 6’10” and I’d get the same monologue that “height doesn’t really matter” and “you need to fix your mindset” talk just the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 06:31 AM

I’m not saying you’re wrong, I definitely have the ability to try and date, but I can’t date not because of that, but because of the risk to my mental health. I don’t take failure or loss well, and I don’t have a support network. Getting my heart broken or learning that I’m not physically qualified to date makes it extremely risky. I also tried to appeal to those on here who also suffer the misfortunes of not being able to date for one reason or another, and not exclude them by naming the title …

Thinking it through, the real reason may be that I’m terrified of proving to myself that I can’t get a date. Right now I’m living life in limbo; I might be able to find someone if I tried, or I might not be able to and validate all the preconceived notions I have about myself. That coupled with the ideals on this subreddit that make me think if I am unsuccessful, it’s over and I can’t do anything about it. I do have an “idea” of what I need to do, which is make more friends, find more hobbies, etc, which can lead to a date, but I also have no clue on how to do those things either. The latter, but in doing the latter, I developed extreme social anxiety that I’ve tried to counter to no avail. /r/PurplePillDebate19/12/23 01:13 AM

Good read, though I do find publishings like this somewhat suspect as it’s written by a company that sells these products. They do cite journals though which backs up their claims. At this point I don’t really see the need to switch; I’m not losing hair anymore and for areas I had the transplant, I don’t think I ever had hair there to begin with, so there wouldn’t be hair to regrow, at least I think.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/23 12:38 AM

Wait so you’ve had a transplant but still think it’s extreme? Also, how does dutasteride help regrow hair and stop excessive body hair from growing? Isn’t it just a stronger DHT inhibitor? My physician told me that all Finasteride does is prevent you from losing more hair.

The fact that such a high percentage of guys are single and there are multiple single mothers should be seen as an enormous issue with society in the west, but it’s going the opposite way and being accepted as normal and “correct”. I just don’t see how such a society built upon factors like this is sustainable. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another federal tax levied on us to support single parents that was treated in the same fashion as social security.

I understand. Glad that you overcame your fears and found someone

The issue is they don’t immerse themselves in environments where they can see it firsthand.

What does she do specifically? And I would imagine your comment about getting where you’re coming from is just her understanding the dating market by seeing it in action via proxy?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 11:14 PM
6

Right, but you never had to go so far as trying to explain that you wanted a boyfriend but couldn’t get one, correct?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 11:09 PM
13

Exactly this. They use the argument of “But you live in California, have a great career and plenty of money! It just doesn’t make sense!” At least they see the rationale behind the cosmetic surgeries I told them I’ve had/planning on getting.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 11:08 PM

The craziest thing I saw lately was when I visited a friend and his sister was there with her “boyfriend”. This guy was six foot something and extremely fit, but he was a self proclaimed “music creator” and then asked me if I wanted to buy weed lol. He then proceeded to get upset when I told him he could not take my Tesla “for a ride” and called me a bitch. The icing on the cake was when another girl showed up who was his “friend” and all three of them went out to do God knows what.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 11:05 PM

I wouldn’t lie to them, but that would also upset their catholic heads, and potentially disqualify me from inheritance, which would not be worth it lol
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:43 PM

It is rough seeing my friend living off unemployment with his parents having multiple dates a week. It is what it is lol
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:42 PM

Yup, I know exactly what you mean when you speak of these types of women. Living in LA, I see them all the time. One of my friends is one of them; she’s a smart engineer but “cant seem to get the guy she wants.” When I asked who that may be, she pretty much described Chris Hemsworth, when she isn’t exactly more than conventionally attractive herself.

You had great grandparents, and your grandmother was extremely socially aware for being from an older generation.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:27 PM
11

Because they ask pretty much every time we talk on the phone/Skype and it usually devolves into a discussion of “what I should be doing” which isn’t reflective of the trends in society today. Plus they say “we really want grandchildren” and it’s rough because I feel as though I’ve failed to give them the one thing they want when they gave so much to me
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:24 PM

What is the point of the anecdote about the woman at her work? Agreed, my friends who are in happy relationships or married with kids have been together for years. You nailed it on the single guy thing, I’m rocking the sitting at home on a Saturday vibes right now lol
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:19 PM

I attribute all the successes in my life to the opportunities my parents gave me. Why would I throw all that in their face for sex with some random woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:14 PM

I don’t think there is a single woman on this planet that I would ever care more about than my parents
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 10:05 PM

You and I are very similar, so I hope there’s solace in knowing you’re not alone

Did you just tell them to stop asking, or did they get the hint?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 09:53 PM

You’re lucky you didn’t have to have this weighing on you while they were still alive.

There seems to be a correlation between men who excel in education/career while simultaneously not having much success in dating.

Do you still feel bad for not meeting their expectations?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 09:38 PM

Are they aware that you do have dates? I think there is a stark difference in a parent’s reaction to their child having dating success with no long term relationships vs their child not getting any dates at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 09:35 PM
16

I’m sorry you had to deal with rejection like that, but you seem to be apathetic towards it which is good. It is a culture shock to parents to see something like this, but at least you have the wherewithal to show them the problem isn’t you
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 09:33 PM

In a way you’re very fortunate
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 09:31 PM

What is their take on that? My parents are religious but I think they would be somewhat taken aback by that requirement.

Great take. I’m currently living that flashy lifestyle, but I think it’s due to not having a reason not to. I think I would enjoy living more modestly and wholesomely if I had reason to.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 07:56 PM

I respect that and I would more likely than not pay for those services if I were in the same position.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 07:43 PM

What is your combined annual household income? I’m currently at 350k and I still feel like having a housekeeper/gardener is a waste of money. But I am also single and enjoy chores, so that may factor into my bias.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 07:34 PM

To be fair, I don’t try when it comes to approaching. A combination of social anxiety, fear of rejection, fear of being “put on blast” or however you want to word it for “bothering” a woman, and an analytical/pessimistic hybrid mindset makes approaching near impossible for me. I’m in therapy and have been for over a year, and I really don’t get much out of it. I’ve had multiple therapists with not much improvement. I attribute my financial success to luck; I just happened to invest in various st…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 03:17 AM

I respect everything you just said from a purely subjective point of view, but you failed to touch on something very critical which this subreddit focuses on: Looks Sure I can leverage my resources to put myself in positions to meet women, but the buck stops there if they aren’t attracted to me physically. I then just become “another average dude” with no outlet to change that.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 03:03 AM

I’m 28. I agree I am well above average, but nobody but my family, close friends, randoms on the internet and the IRS need to know my financial status. I would like for a woman to show genuine attraction and interest toward me, and down the line she can learn about my financial status. Your comment about getting a sugar baby is ridiculous and you seem to think I only care about sex and not forming an emotional connection with someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 02:56 AM

Source? I was pointing out my wealth not in an effort to say why I don’t have luck dating but to counter your point of how men act and live life when they don’t have luck dating. Your advice leverages myself using my wealth to attract women, which is not my intent. For all intents and purposes I dress plainly and don’t advertise my wealth because I don’t want to attract a women based on that. Also, what do you mean by “grind it out”?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 02:48 AM

You have to admit this individual is an outlier; your description of this dude is basically synonymous with a homeless person. Guys who don’t “relate to women” aren’t getting wasted and shiftlessly running around posting Tik Toks. I struggle with relating to women and dating, yet I own a house by the beach in LA, make 350k/year and have hobbies that don’t revolve around drunkenness or getting high. You don’t see me or many other guys mirroring what this individual is doing. We just fly under the…

Has it occurred to you that people can get plastic surgery for other reasons than just being insecure?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 01:12 AM

And this is relevant because?

Wild take, I don’t have any more to say
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 06:06 PM

Do you think that modern medical advancements are an indication that we need not consider how these traits will affect our children and the next generations?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 05:54 PM

Do you also think that ugly women shouldn’t reproduce or is it exclusive to men?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 05:48 PM

You’re assuming that I considered myself ugly to begin with and that reproduction is blanket copy/paste of all traits you seem to consider to be ugly. Your comments have mildly eugenic undertones.

I made this thread mainly to see exactly this.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 04:20 PM

So ugly men shouldn’t reproduce and be denied the experience of having a family?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 03:58 PM

Appreciate the response, but I am interested to know what you view as priorities? If I own my house and car outright, and save/invest well, what other financial priorities would you look for in a partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 07:09 AM
3

Agreed, thanks!
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 02:19 AM
3

Looking at old pictures of myself, someone might mention it, etc. I am mainly concerned that women might feel it’s a copout, or that a guy is trying to hide his actual genetics.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 01:59 AM
2

Just based on your standards for physical beauty only, would you prefer to date a guy who was balding or one who had a hair transplant to fix his balding? I know there are other factors that may trump these characteristics, but considering this in a vacuum, what do you think?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 01:37 AM
4

Agreed, the surgeries are for myself, but with the indirect intent to build confidence to make dating easier. I asked this question primarily because if women viewed plastic surgery as something negative, I would be less inclined to spend money and take the risks associated with elective surgeries
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 01:32 AM

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/23 07:20 AM
14

This is honestly pretty disheartening to read. As a reasonably successful late 20s male who can’t get any dates at all, I was very hopeful that when I hit my 30s, the women would have lowered their standards a bit. Sounds like I don’t have much to look forward to anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/23 07:05 AM

Surely being 6ft is better than being 5”10 no?
/r/AllPillDebate20/09/23 02:49 PM

Not all I make it out to be, but women would say differently. I have seen how much more respected my colleagues are around women at work, they’re just inherently more well respected and treated better.
/r/AllPillDebate20/09/23 02:44 PM

Yeah you’re right. Either be short and unattractive or tall and weird looking. Lose lose

Is it really just 10 minutes of friction or a happy LTR for life though?
/r/AllPillDebate20/09/23 02:02 AM

I feel the same way, having nobody to be responsible for except myself is very freeing. Love being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want.

Surely there is something you’ve always wanted to purchase or go visit?

Maybe hookup wasn’t the right term. I matched with all of them on dating apps and we went on a few dates and had sex. But I paid for everything and that probably kept them interested. For the two girls I had a relationship with; I can say without a doubt they just saw $$$s and not me for who I am.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 11:02 PM
3

No, I had about seven different hookups and two girlfriends in the past few years, but looking back holistically I’m almost certain they all wanted me for my money and that’s it. Pretty sure I’ve never actually had a girl genuinely attracted to me.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 10:29 PM

Sad thing is that I have crossed the 7 figure threshold, yet I’m still considered middle class in my area. SoCal is very difficult.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 09:26 PM
3

I don’t ever intend on moving to the Philippines, or outside of the US for that matter. I live by the beach in Southern California and wouldn’t trade this for anything. Would rather be single and forever alone and live in this amazing place than in some 3rd world country with a lower quality of life. So I need to evaluate my dating prospects here in the US only, and that’ll determine if the surgery is something I should seriously take a gamble on.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 08:56 PM

Thank you I appreciate it :)

It’s not bad but it could be better
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 08:31 PM

I’ll wait and reassess once my hair grows back and my nose has fully healed.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 08:09 PM
2

More than likely a combination of software and my large nose; which is why I’m getting a reduction rhinoplasty. Though to be fair, I do rarely put myself out there, am not on dating apps and keep to myself, so I don’t know if I would actually have success with my current looks.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 07:46 PM
1

So you would rather be stuck at your height forever rather than take the risk for a better romantic life?
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 07:33 PM
1

Gotcha, I’ll take a look into it. I have pretty broad shoulders currently, so I might not be a candidate.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 07:30 PM
2

I appreciate the sentiment and am honestly surprised you’re being upvoted given the stark difference in mindset that I’ve read on here. It would ruin my life to have this surgery and subsequently become paralyzed or something.
/r/AllPillDebate18/09/23 07:20 PM
1

Not worth it because I’m not that bad right now, or not worth it because I’d still be too short after gaining 3-4”?
