Why would the religious organization be obligated to follow the same rules as everyone else? That is exactly the crux of the issue. Some people think that religious organizations do not have the right to follow their own beliefs in the way they provide a public service and some people think that they do.

It could easily be true in your state as well. The Florida law was modeled after another state's law and almost no one is aware of the law until they get charged with a felony.

Florida has a law that says the age a of consent is 16, but if a person under 18 has sex with someone over age 23, the 23+ year old is committing a felony. I think several other states have similar laws. Good luck if that is the case.

Exactly. I saw a comedian talking about how political correctness is based on people wanting societ/government to protect them from being offended. He said "when you are offended, nothing happens." You are just offended. The same is true of when you attempt to interact/ask someone out and are turned down. Nothing happens. But something might happen if he/she doesn't turn you down.

I used to work in a major tertiary care hospital. I did some work in some of the intensive care units and got to know and work with the staff. There was a much higher percentage of male nurses in the ICU's and they were the most competent and knowledgeable. I do not know why that was the case, but it was definitely true.

Your default setting seems to be that money would be withheld under the law. It would not. You are assuming that the adulterous spouse is somehow entitled to the money which is being unjustly withheld because of the adultery. That is not the case. Instead, alimony would not be granted. There is a distinct difference, since the spouse should not be getting alimony anyway.

The bill doesn't say that the spouse can't have sex, it says that they cannot get alimony if they do. You oppose alimony, so I do not know why you would object to it. It would limit alimony, which you oppose.

When you are doing the "dominance" thing, you are being an asshole. That is what being an asshole is, asserting dominance over others, especially when it is merely as part of some sort of manipulative strategy. It indicates a lack of sexual confidence. You can be very confident without being an asshole. People who are actually confident are not interested and do not need to to try to treat others like puppets.

When I was in college in the 1980's, I used to talk to a lot of women. During my time there, five different women told me that they had been raped. All the incidents were described as date rapes. I asked a few questions and got them to tell the stories. Each of them was crying and very upset. After I heard the details of the first story, I started trying to get as much information as possible when other women told me about their rapes. I was as careful as I could be about not seeming to be doubt…

When I was a police officer, (in the 1980's in Atlanta) the standard practice was not to prosecute those cases for that reason. As far as I know that is still the case. And I have heard of dozens of cases of women recanting false accusations and I have never heard of any prosecution of a woman for that, so it may occasionally happen, but I am guessing that in almost every case, there are no legal consequences for the false accuser. I have not done any research on the issue.

One reason why women are not prosecuted for falsely accusing men of rape is that it would discourage women from recanting false allegations that might have resulted in a wrongful conviction.
